6ARC vs 6.5 Creedmoor- 14.5” dmr compare
6mm ARC & 6.5 creedmoor.... Both provide exceptional performance in a dmr role but how do they actually stack up in a side by side live fire comparison? 6ARC provides the user with impressive ballistics and long range capability from a small package, but sacrifices energy on target. 6.5 creedmoor provides impressive energy on target but with significant drawbacks in terms of weight size and cost. If you're trying to decide which route you want to go for your next DMR project stick around because this video is going to give you real world data on how these 2 popular calibers match up.

Hornady inflating hunting bullet BC??? Long range testing

Great vid, well explained and has reminded me about a lot of stuff I have forgotten. Will be looking to change me Zero from 100mtr to back to 50mtr, for my Ruger scout 308 16" barrel. As I am using this rifle as a bush hunting gun, not too many shots are taken beyond 200mtr (220 Yards). Love the idea of the medium distances and associated variations from point of aim. Will have to test the drops with the 180g hand loaded rounds I use due to the extra weight and associated variation to your 165g. Also testing factory ammo of 150g that are also occasionally used.

We are now wanting to stretch out to 1000 to 2000 yards... and I decided to get another SMR chambered in 300 PRC... but wondering if it would make more, better sense to sell my Creedmoor and purchase an MRAD with interchangeable barrels. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the TA31F calls out a drop of 35.8 MOA at 800 meters. My ballistic calculator says that a 62gr projectile with a ballistic coefficient of .304 needs to be traveling at 2856fps with a 100 meter zero, to drop 35.8 MOA at that distance, which lines up pretty well with the 14.5 barrel. If I remember correctly, M855 out of a 20" barrel is going closer to 3000fps which would make the TA31F not ideal for a 20" barrel. The ACOG that is specifically made for the M16 with a 20" barrel (The TA31RCO-A4CP) has a drop of 31.9 MOA at 800 meters. That is a difference of 3.9 MOA from the TA31F (which is a difference of about 3 feet at 800 meters). Like I said, please correct me if I'm mistaken, but it seems the TA31F is not for a 20" barrel.

Outstanding tutorial Sir! I'm a retired Marine (air wing) who never had much range time during my 20 years. Now that I'm old, I'm trying to relearn the art of zeroing my M4 for maximum point blank range. Because my eyes are dimming and I do not have access to a decent range, I bought a mil-spec collimator calibrated for 300 meters that I'm told present day Marines are using for their initial qualification zero. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to dial it in. In any event, I would appreciate your opinion (good or bad) on using a collimator to sight in iron and optical sights. My goal is to dial in a set it and forget it 300 yard/meter point blank zero. By the way my Son Anthony says he knows you and he spun me onto your channel. Semper Fi Ken

Building my 1st 300 prc off a christchensen action in a krg chassis with a proof ss barrel. I've been shooting 6.5cm out of a stock rpr then a white oak then a proof barrel for about 5 years. Wanting that Kinda accuracy in I 200 plus grain projectile. Seems doable Apparently your having no issues. The rpr vs barrett 300 video was crazy. I never thought the white oak or the proof barrel in my rpr were necessarily any more accurate than the factory which says a lot for the rpr.

I’ve been practicing in the wind recently and set up 2 simple “flags” really just a sick with a white grocery bag cut up and made in to a streamer like flag and the other one is about 100 yards away that I cut the bag with a little pouch into it so I can add pebbles into it to weight it down so when the wind is really high it won’t just be blowing straight sideways. Just add pebbles to where it’s more or less soaring at 45 degrees lol.. it works great and I believe it’s helping me read wind like never before. For me anyway it’s takin a while to be able to intuitively read the wind which is what I’m trying to get better at! Cheers and good shooting!

Yes the specific bc is going to change a bit in various environmentals but if you do this once in your “average” conditions then in my experience that adjustment will be very close from there on out. For instance I trued the bc on my 230 atip in may at 1500’ and then shot the same bullet at the NF ELR match In June at 5000’. That adjusted BC was almost spot on after I accounted for the environmental differences In my calculator
