Hey Chris, re the non-start issue, have you checked both the fuse box and the pyro lead? The SLK's have an F32 that blows in the black box (Mercedes say to replace, but you can pull apart and replace) and there is the usual pyro fuse to the starter. Just thought yours may have the same set up. I can't find a pyro anywhere for the SLK.

Nice, have the same car, was going to do a stage 1, but finally will keep it stock, not worth the trouble and wear and tear, it's fast enough without any headaches and complications. Boys Sealey make a far better brake bleeder that does it the same way, but you pump the pressure into it rather than needing a tyre. It's about £50
