    It’s like living in HI. Don’t get me wrong I love HI and had no issues living there for 26 years and will probably retire there. Many people who move to HI normally don’t make it past 3 years especially if you don’t have family or friends. People think of HI or Japan as a fun destination and do not look at the daily grind. The bottom line as some have mentioned is that if you’re normally a happy person, no matter where you live you will be ok. Life happens no matter where you live.

    I guess it totally depends on ones personality and expectations. While Japan is not perfect, as there is no such thing, but its powerful passport speaks for itself. It means japanese citizens have a very low flight risk of being illegal aliens to other countries, and the reason for that is because they feel well provided by the government. On the other hand, i think this is where it gets disappointing to foreigners. They think they can achieve or acquire the status of being citizens, and if they dont, they start to say bad things about Japan.

    By my own opinion if I were to live in America I'd already be working for absurd hours at incredibly low wages and generally I'd rather do that in a place where the people actually have moral values democracy is actually democracy and you have things to look forward too other than in America where my life consists of spending bills and going home to do nothing cause I can't buy anything especially since inflation.

    • @GhostelFaceMan
      @GhostelFaceMan Před 15 hodinami

      If I'm already depressed and regularly have semi healthy mental breakdowns that restrict me from going to work id rather take the risk of going to somewhere where it's either gonna be the same or better and I honestly am voting on better given how even if it turns out to be just like America at least the people have moral values unlike America where every body isn't a human but just a lightly evolved ape. It's comedic how America is the land where we called people from another land apes while today we act just as an angry chimp

    Regarding airsoft ("BB") guns in America, there's definitely enthusiasts who like to collect them and play matches with each other. I think the emphasis is less on realism because, after all, you can buy the real version. But it's not uncommon for gun owners to also be into airsoft, either as a way to use gun tactics without hurting anyone, or as a way to practice for the real thing.

    Here's a message you can share to warn others about this scam: 🚨 Beware of iPhone Selling Scams in Japan! 🚨 Scammers are targeting individuals with offers to sell iPhones on installment plans. Please be cautious: - They may request payment via gift cards. - They might ask for additional gift cards to 'activate' AppleCare. - They often claim the phone is stuck in customs and demand more money for clearance. Unfortunately, victims never receive the iPhone and lose their money. These scammers often use fake Japanese passports and virtual Sayuru cards to appear legitimate. Even Apple support is unable to assist once you've fallen for this scam. Please alert your friends and family about this scheme to prevent further losses. Always ensure that any online transaction is carried out through legitimate and verifiable channels. 👉 Stay Safe and Report Any Suspicious Activities! 🛡️

    Many foreigners say that working hours in Japan are very long, but that is not true. According to OECD Data Hours worked - Employment, the average annual working hours of Japanese workers in 2022 is 1607 hours. For example, Canada is 1686 hours, Australia is 1707 hours, and the United States is 1811 hours. If you don't believe me, check out OECD Data Hours worked - Employment.

    I wish I had seen this before I tried teaching English in S. Korea. I didn!t even have a love of their top of the iceberg stuff, but the ball kicking (real ball; not kicking one between the legs) version of volleyball and their martial arts was cool (loved “Best of the Best”). I did find close friends who were Canadian and an emotionally-troubled Korean national. I could appreciate their easier to write and read language. It was depressing to see them have to go to school all day long and the cram school on regular days off. I did not appreciate how tired they were, I regret, but hoped they had questions of me, but did not (I think you need an at least a Masters in something to teach at a college, where I was told they were more interested). I sucked at teaching without training. You best try an esl class beforehand, if possible. I did take hikes to parts of the city I was in and volunteered with a volunteer group, though not supposed to. That and finding a church of my faith and the western stuff area were positive. Still, I got lonely and imposter syndrome. I didn’t hate S. Korea, its people or ways, but maybe some things about myself. Get to know yourself. Maybe hang out with a population you are not so comfortable with that is maybe not dangerous, like try helping people with dementia and the mentally-challenged after learning about them, first. I should have tried again in S. Korea or my favorite above the iceberg country:Japan. Italy or Greece would be cool, too, but, at the time, Korea seemed more desperate and offered boarding with the deal. I later learned even those who go through teacher degree programs have difficulty getting through to kids and those kids don’t have cram schools!

    I think this should be titled "Why it sucks being poor in a big City." You would probably feel the same way if you moved to NYC minus the cultural issues but having to deal with much higher crime rates, filth and homelessness. I lived in Tokyo on an expat salary without coworkers and I was paid in $$ so I had the time and money to actually enjoy my time there. How good was my salary? I only took taxis and Uber in Japan and I only took the subway during off peak times so mostly always had seat. The Tokyo subway is actually quite nice. No crazies like in NYC and way cleaner.

    Ok. I like jp and I lived there. But jp is just a country with flaws like any other country. Anime and jp are absolutely different things - it's just a product of culture which doesn't depict reality. People and things are different, they are not like in anime - unless it's a drama. So, my jp acquaintance work almost without weekends and some days sleep only 3 hours a day... I was in shock. After spending time in jp and speaking with Japanese people, I'm convinced that jpns companies are the worst. But I like food and nature there
