thanks for the video sir
0:44 I came.
Just bought a used 16.4.2. If I wanted to add reverb to a vocal channel how do I do that? I understand how to EQ and use FAT for a channel but am confued as to how to add effects to one channel?
First things first, download the manual. All you need to do to apply FX is select the channel, activate the FXA or FXB button, use the screen to select the internal effect. Prev-Next to navigate menus. Press the page down button to get into the effect bank. Press recal to load the effect and get to effect parameters. Press FX button to see it has changed. Use FatChannel knob to adjust amount of send to effects buss. The 16.4.2 has a bit different control layout, but you MUST download and read the manual. I have an entire playlist you can watch to help get started, most if not all applie to your mixer as well. One set of knobs adjust to become what you need using the buttons for AB FX sends, EQs, Aux sends. Hope I didnt leave anything out. Good Luck with your new toy!
@@TheGospelGuitarist Thanks so much for the videos and responding to my question, you rock :)
What camera is that?
That is a Zoom Q8.
@@TheGospelGuitarist Thank you!
Zoom has a new version which actually has good video now. Ofcourse, they only did that because I already bought this one. Why do companies always do this to me?
thanks god i found you i love the way you explain how to connect all the gear,,,,,.,and the rest, you are so great!!!
Awesome, thank you!
Very nice do they sound more close to single coils or more to humbuckers in ur opinion ? Thanks
Wired using same 250k pots puts them in the P90 area of tone to me. I’m going to switch to 500k and see how they do then. Not bad at all on the 250 though.
Can you help me set it up? Im going into a Marshall. This is my first dual rectifier
I don't think Marshall makes a dual recto amp. You would need solid state and tube rectofiers and I have never seen a Marshall with that setup. Mesa is kind of famous for that piece of old tech still included on thier amps. Help? Never turn it on without a speaker cab plugged into it. Volume off, dials at noon, then turn it on. Dial in the way you like it. Start with a clean tone and then build the dirty tone. Add other toys for flavor. Have fun!
@@TheGospelGuitarist Hey man thanks for the advice! I'll make sure to make note of that. It's a Mesa Dual Rectifier but I have a Marshall cabinet. I might just go out and get the Mesa cabinet as well. I've been trying to get everything done right so I appreciate your help.
Oh I get it. Miss read that as going into a Marshall head. Is it an old yeller like mine or a new one? One thing I like is the clean tone is as good as the dirty. Great amps. Enjoy it!
*DISCLAIMER* -- Make absolutely certain that you wear eye protection when working with real bone. If you get bone dust in your eye, it will be a bad week of trying to wash it out. Also bone powder or dust when mixed with water, turns into glue. You will be rinsing glue out your eyes for days. It was a miserable week for me. Wear eye protection or else you will suffer. 👁️
That is some good information. I didn't know that. Thanks so much for posting and I hope people head this warning. Sorry you had to go through that.
Good man!
Thanks!
Which output should I use to connect an RC-500 LOOPER?
I would use the stereo synth out because the guitar processing can also use that output so you can loop guitar and synth parts..never used a looper with it but I'd try that first.
@@TheGospelGuitarist Good try but where is that stereo synth out? Not at the back of the unit anyhow. Do you think I need to change the parameters to make it work? I was going for a simple plug in\out with a 1\4 cable. I have try all kinds of set up but it's still not working and nobody seems to have try it either on youtube because as there already is a looper in the GR-55, no one seems to see how useful it could be for doing ambience music for example.
Output L(mono)/R is the main output on the unit. I don't have it anymore. If you don't have the manual you can find it online. I suppose the looper is a mono input? so use the L(mono) output.
Linux is flat out superior, congrats on getting out of the microsoft spyware environment
Don't give up with Linux, I made the full switch in 2006, no regrets since.
Thank you Bro victor saxophone player Chennai India super AMAZING
Thank you.
How do i coneect them to the pots?
Same way as usual. They come with instructions too.
@@TheGospelGuitarist awrsome . I'm pretty new to wiring guitars so that's good it has a manual for them
The custom wiring is done at the ring, only a hot and ground go to the pot, easy peasy!
I'm planning on buying these for my desktop setup. Are they good for movies, music and a bit of gaming?
Yes, but remember these are monitors with very flat response for mixing.
omg I have the custom godin So maybe this piece is so he can add it to other guitars like his Gibson etc? cause the Godin has the 13 pin thing already built in. I just searched in closets and found pretty well everything I need except the maybe wireless adaptaor and the screws. And I have a regular amp and a Fender Mustang. He broke my heart but I got the gear at least that. HOLY SHIZ
Godin is ready to go, just need the 13 pin cable. This is the GK-3 midi pickup and can be added to any guitar.
just searched for that plat thingy and found it no screws. But I have that black thing
oh I have that little piece I've misplaced it somewhere. Looks like i"ll have to rebuy it. I left you a long message on the other vid for gr 55
i have inherited the gr 55 and godin custom. the fender mustang 200 amp. a mesa and bunch of other stuff. Thank God you made this video cause I'm a newb and dont get it. My man went mental after 18 years abandoned me ran off with his mummy...not the greatest karma for them. We were musicians together. Tonight I messed around with the Fender footswitch and looper it seems maybe a cable issue cause the looper volume was zero and then hurt my ear turning on a youtube blue tooth video and it was damn cranked on my phone (fender mustang has bluetooth speaker. My ear is still ringing) anyway my question is can I play the GR 55 thru this type of amp with built in effects or would that be stupid and I have to use is other old school fender or mesa. I'm done with musicians screwing me over I've learned 3 almost 4 instruments because of it. I want to start playing with all the toys I have If anyone knows if I can or not please feel free to give me any advice. I don't want to damage anything. Thank you so much in advance Oh and it came with this little adaptor. Maybe that was just for him to go wireless? patchcordless I mean....it seems that the little piece was caught up in his clothing when He Ran off with mummy cause I think I remember packing it. fyi she's an insane hag that took him to Hungary to mow her lawn and then paid him to leave me. Euro mothers don't like you if your american or north american even though she lived here 40 years and regrets it.(for those who read this and want to know, he's still gone and still mental)
You can play the GR-55 through any amp but best through a clean non-tube amp. Like a Roland Jazz Chorus or acoustic amp. Manual is online if you don't have it. Just do a search, you'll need it.
Thanks a lot for explaining. It is really helpful!!"
Glad to hear that! Please subscribe and I have a playlist to help learn the GR-55.
nice
Thanks
celebrity, I had a korean 12 string 254 I think. was excellent. should of kept it.
I also own 1, that did not occur to me? now I'm conflicted to flip it or not? thanks for the heads up! I like it the way it is currently... might get in a tinker mood 1 day!
great guitars, I like the tuner too.
and super light, almost fully hollow!
Yep, one big chamber.
I was using a Gr 20 synth with the Gk 3 pickup where I can get the synth and guitar either together or separately going g through one amp. So far I can either get synth or regular guitar on the Gr 55. Do I need 2 separate amps to get both
Sir I subscribed liked share. Gk3 latency problem solution please
You need the manual which goes over a ton of settings to get the pickup to respond and play the way you want it to. There are too many settings to cover here. If you don't have it, you can find it online with a simple search for it. There are many factors at play. If you purchased it used you should do a factory reset first. I've never had latency issues. It tracked very fast when I owned mine. There isn't a quick fix to get it setup the way you want. Basically, you are the only person who knows what you want it to do according to your playing style and feel and the guitar. Thanks for subscribing, I hope you get it setup. Cheers!
@@TheGospelGuitarist sir I already bought Roland gr55 with Gk3 but latency problem specially while playing flute saxophone violin piano etc fast notes the sounds cut out. Thankyou for kind reply
Unfortunately, you would not be the first to receive a faulty GK-3. Lots of people have problem with that pickup, me included. The wiring is so small they crap out all the time. Do you know anyone who has a GR55 you can compare pickups with. Do the other tones work ok? Like the guitar section. You may have the sensitivity set too low or not playing hard enough or the pickup needs to be closer to the strings. Explore the settings if it all works but has long latency. I sold me off a long time ago, more fiddling than playing. I would grab another one since so many people have issues I could look deeper into to help. I do have the manual still as a reference. Hope you can figure it out, Roland may be helpful if you give them a call. If it all works, there is probably a setting somewhere you missed. Best wishes!
Ooh sir thankyou for helping us
Thank you for this video! This makes me actually consider getting the pedal. I saw, in a couple places, that the LED size to search for is 2x3x4mm. Looking at Amazon search results that looks correct. Are you able to confirm this?
I can confirm the 2mm thick and 4mm tall with my small ruler. So I'd say the 3mm wide is good too. Please hit the subscribe button to help me out too. Thanks.
@@TheGospelGuitarist Perfect, thanks!
Another good video! I wondered why you used a separate guitar effects unit rather than the GR55 guitar effects?
Everyone has their favorites. This setup in the video allows way faster adjustments with no menus! Not to mention different effects by a bunch of other companies' products. Hit the subscribe button to help me out. Thanks!

Any opinions - is it better to take the synth output to a PA for live work with the guitar out to an amp - or use the preamp modelling and leave the synth and guitar mixed output in to a neutral amp (no drive etc) or PA
I ran my half stack alongside an acoustic guitar amp for the synth. But if I didn't have the stack I would probably run both the guitar modeling and the synth through an acoustic amp. Acoustic amps just sound better to me than a clean amp. I have a JC-120 which sounds good too. But favored the response of the acoustic amp to recreate acoustic instruments. Please slam that subscribe button for me, thanks!
Thanks for your thoughts. I did wonder about an acoustic amp. I've hit the Subscribe button :)

Sir i have installed gk-3 but no string e sound is lower than other string please any solution to solve
Go into GK setting and adjust the levels of the pickups in the GK3 .
@@TheGospelGuitaristthankyou sir
I have this. THAT IS WHY IT IS SO LIGHT! EXCELLENT QUALITY
how can you use a aux for subwoofer
Plug the sub into the mono output of the mixer, that is one of the things it can be used for unless you are running a mono mix somewhere. No need to use up an Aux send. But you can send the channels to Aux 4 let's say, and run the output of Aux 4 for to a powered sub or a power amp with sub. Use each channels send 4 to set level and the master send 4 to set level to the sub(s). The same way you would set up a monitor mix on say Aux 1 for monitors or in ears. You are just sending different levels to a sub. Don't forget to subcribe! Thanks, hope that helps.

@@TheGospelGuitarist I tried but don't know what to look for. Thanks
Used their Guitar Polish product on chrome, after a couple of days the chromework became tarnished and pitted. Had to replace the parts.
Never had that happen on any of my guitars of various brands. Don't know why that would happen. I have had cheaper and expensive guitars, no issues.
Product was bought from a bricks and stone certified Nomad music retailer so I must assume it is not cheap knock off. There are reports by others that this stuff can be savage. Wouldnt let it within a long mile of any of my instruments ever again.
@@freelancer8822 not heard any reports. What guitars did it have this reaction on?
@@TheGospelGuitarist I used it on a Fender Jazz bass. Wiped the control plate and neck plate with it. It came up a nice glossy polished finish but within days both became corroded and pitted. I tried re-doing it with various other cleaners to no avail and had to replace the parts at significant cost. Ive seen at least one other YT post where the guy complained it took the gold coating off his pickups. Not good at all!
@@freelancer8822 Sorry you had that experience. Did you contact the manufacturer?
I congratulate you friend for the mod, I fixed it simpler, I took each LED and painted them with a red permanent pencil and solved the problem
Yeah, I noticed some use the markers idea. I made a little project out of it, cheap.
Picked my gx700 recently. How would I hook it up to my computer to load up patches?
You need a MIDI interface. Just pick up a MIDI USB cable at the music store. Connect to the MIDI connections on the back of the GX700. Good to go! Please hit the Subscribe button for me, it''s a great help. Thanks!
@@TheGospelGuitarist got my usb to midi, now its saying no drivers. Oh well, guess its more troubleshooting for me
Windows may need to find drivers for the MIDI. The Boss does not require any drivers.
@@TheGospelGuitarist Got that working now my boss is stuck in an endless loop of resetting itself. What a fun time! Thanks for the help and pointing in right direction, probably will try again once I get this fixed.
You may want to do a factory reset. Press the tuner/utility button, the press the parameter buttons under the wheel until you see it change to "Fact Init [write]. Just press the parameter jog wheel to reset the whole machine.
All great upgrades! I had a squir tele that wouldnt stay in tune good and I couldnt get the intenation within a good solid sound that I liked. I bought a cheap reverse big head neck from japan and some finder locking tuners and now it holds tune perfect and the intenation is dead on. Love digital pedalboard, i have some Boss COSM units and a VOX tonelab with 2 expression pedals and a tube, huge and heavy!!
What people are missing is that these old boards have their own sound. There are no amp models/speaker models. My Digitech sounds totally different from the Boss and would from your Vox which hold their own too. ADA rack gear has sound of it's own as does Rockman, Boss, Digitech, and Korg to name a few. It was an exciting time. I should pick up that Tonelab sometime. Thanks for posting.
thanks mate
You're welcome! Do me a favor and hit my sub button, much appreciated.
Where will i put my guitar pedal if i ise DI Box and ampli? Guitar-pedals in- pedals out- di box in- di box out-mixer?
Guitar - > pedal (s) -> DI from there go to the amp in as normal and run XLR Mic cable output to the mixer.
Just released a new video based on your question. You are not the first to ask. Cheers!
That's interesting.....I've been making a similar mod to my Strats since the 80's but my switch turns on the Bridge in the 3,4 and 5 positions. I wonder if it makes a difference to the sound? I didn't do this because of Gilmour, only because I realized that the bridge was unused after the 2nd position and I wanted to use it in all positions.
I have mine reworked for 7 positions now and it utilizes the bridge pick too. Turns on in p4-5.
Cool vid!! But I came here cause I bought a lefty big head to put on my righty tele. So I was wondering, do I still put the tall shafts in their respective placement near the nut or should I put the tall ones tords the end farthest from the nut? Also, should I put the tree strings on for the wound strings or the non wound strings?
Taller posts for the lower strings and you don’t need string trees because the shorter post changes the break angle at the nut keeping the string from jumping out.
@@TheGospelGuitarist Thank you and I looked over you content real quick last night and you definitely got another subscriber here! Keep up the good work sir!
Thank you I will! Thanks for subscribing!
Worked out perfect. Now my tele has a reverse stock! So cool. Hay its the little things in life! Next, Im going to tackle that EQ post... tomorrow night. You think 31eq is too much for a guitar?
@HereXEG yes, but not unheard of. I use a 10 band MXR in my Mesa’s fx loop.
So i just filed my nut slots for the first time on my SG and used the 3rd fret method no feeler guages and tapped the string while pressing the 3rd fret and have a slight gap...possibly about half the diameter of the strings....it worked perfectly. I can never get an accurate measuremnet with feeler guages unless you have perfect eyesight. After which all strings follow the fret board radius perfectly. I have watched a ton of videos and this looks to be the prefered method. No buzz and plays nice. I will be doing my other 2 guitars soon with the same method. Cheers
You forgot to tell me how wrong I am about how to check the height! Yes, I would cut a nut doing the same way you have. I am just following the book on how to do setups. Most people like to complain about that. But that's the net right. My eyesight at 62 is starting at weird. I can only see close now when I remove my glasses, WTF? LOL! All we need is to hear the tiny tap sound and it's good. Thanks for commenting!
Hello Sir....my bad...I do appreciate you and anyone who takes the time to make a video for others. Your video is likely how it should be done. I was more saying that trying to see if a feeler gauge is touching the G, B or E string or any string for that matter is nearly impossible, accurately. But hey if you can get an accurate reading from any string then all power to you. I found that the tap method to be superior in achieving a perfect cut. Listening for a ping sound and your there. I'm 52 and new to guitar building so I'm learning lots from everyone including you. Cheers
All I want to do is help from all my past experience. The tap method is the way to go. If you can get the nut right it makes all the difference in playability, My Strat has a nut I cut and plays incredibly low. I thank you for your comments. I hope you continue your building journey. God bless!
