Did this myself today, could care less about the screw holes, Gibson had dealers do this upgrade so they could sell the 2015,16s . I found that one of the peg holes was larger then the rest , but the Grover locking tuners still worked great. Wish I would of done it sooner. Next upgrade will be the brass nut, titanium one is on its way from Gibson at no charge. Very easy to do.
I removed g force as well. I can change strings on a guitar in 5 mins but with g force I snapped 2 strings and after 4 hours I am still out of tune. Pure mince!
The final straw for mine was having it tune 3X in a row to standard tuning. Why is it re-tuning a tuned guitar? Bye bye. How can trust that? I do better.
I want to do the same and I do not want to drill holes. I like grovers but there are hipshot locking tuners without needing to drill holes so I am confused
A simple, effective, no-hassle solution!
Yeah who knew! Oh wait....everyone knew!

How has the tuning held up without the screws? Do the tuners move around when the strings are on and you need to fine tune a string?
It has been just fine. No issues.
