- Tired of the blinding LED's on this pedal? Here's a tutorial on how to replace them. So much nicer using the clear purple led's.

I did the same thing to mine 3 months ago, and a buddies about a month ago. The first time we both turned the pedals on we had to repent for using our old military grade language. The purple LED's are a great replacement. LOL
I congratulate you friend for the mod, I fixed it simpler, I took each LED and painted them with a red permanent pencil and solved the problem
Yeah, I noticed some use the markers idea. I made a little project out of it, cheap.
Best solution to the problem! I have one and don’t use it because of the led issue. Would love to do this mod….. and love the purple. Since you made the comment…… just letting you know I’d be interested in some. If any left. Thanks…. Nice job.
If a person is unsure of how the anode and cathode sides were oriented, all they have to do is look at the side of the others for correct orientation. I also had a couple that the leg slipped to the side of the connector, so if it doesn't come on and it's oriented correctly, just pull it out and reinsert it making sure the legs go in the tiny little holes.
Got the geen ones and they are brighter than the stock blues....😢 going to get the purples...thanks for the tip
I updated mine with the purple LEDs. It was easy and I no longer have to wear sunglasses to play.
Yeah really! Those stock are way too bright.
Thank you for this video! This makes me actually consider getting the pedal. I saw, in a couple places, that the LED size to search for is 2x3x4mm. Looking at Amazon search results that looks correct. Are you able to confirm this?
I can confirm the 2mm thick and 4mm tall with my small ruler. So I'd say the 3mm wide is good too. Please hit the subscribe button to help me out too. Thanks.

Hey.. I have that pedal but the much older version. Black steel case MXR KFK-1 Kerry King Ten Band EQ pedal. How do I find out if the purple LEDs would work? Mine has not so bright red LEDs but purple would be awesome. The slider LEDs look the same as far as shape and size. Let me know what I would need to look at to find out if the purple LEDs mod would work for me?
Willing to bet they will. Circuit for the leds probably did not change.

does anyone know how to fix the cracking noise issue the LEDs make on this EQ ? (i have the old black model with red LEDs which look cool) i add to pull all LEDs out in order to keep using it in the loop of my amp n it does the noise on different setup so it's not related to the FX loop of my head which work flawlessly
Never heard of this problem. Try replacing them, maybe one or more are going out or something. They’re cheap may as well try it.
Bought a box full of diode LEDs from amazon but they are all much bigger than the original LEDs so if I replace them they are wobbly
Get the ones in my link. As you can see, they fit perfectly.
What should I search to get a led of that size?

I clicked it and got a not found message on eBay. But today 4-3-24, Level3 servers are down world wide. A lot of links aren't working. I can't load games from two of my game sites ect...I will check the link again in a few days and if still dead I will remove the link. Thanks for letting me know.
