Where did you find the midi file for that track? I'm having trouble tracking it down. I would love to try this out on my 2600, thanks in advance!!
I was using Ableton Live, slowed down the original and copied the notes by comparing, trial and error.
How is the MIDI involved with the vibrato? You used CV for everything.
Ah, missed to explain that - the keystep usb port is connected to the computer and MIDI is coming through the DAW.
Great pairing! In Behringers announcement video, the "Tune" fader had some weird stepping going on. Is this also the case with your unit? On my OG Syncussion, this is not the case.😊
@@juicythedj750 stepping only if I move the fader quickly. Tune is smooth via pitch bend or cv input though. The good thing is, it can follow midi note pitch for melodic lines too.
@@tomnoise23 okay thanks! It's such weird behavior.. :) maybe the fader is controlled digitally for stability. Still, I'm seriously considering getting the Behringer and swapping my OG for something else from my wishlist. It also has the Michigan Synthworks midi & cv mod ;)
These two sound great together! Good work!

Sweet ❤
My thought is this synth ( the Syncussion ) is surprisingly capable of a very wide range of sound generation. I think it would shine for industrial or EDM. Open new doors with a few pedals. But really whatever we end up using them for, they nailed the sound. Thanks for putting up what's probably one of the first use / experiment clips.
oh, it's not available yet on Thoman...

Thank you. I followed you along in hooking up my SQ1 to my Behringer 2600 and actually got it working. I am still curious though why I did not have to connect CV B Gate out to the 2600? Thanks for a good video.
@@petercane6376 thanks for your comment! It’s just example patches in that video. There isn’t really a rule which gate to use from the SQ1. My aim was to explain the concept and functionality. Happy patching!
@@tomnoise23 Thanks for your reply. I am very new to this but in reality quite old in age! I was assuming because the SQ1 has Two CV gates we had to use them both but clearly one Gate does it. Maybe the other gate was to patch it with another synth? Would that be a good guess?
@@petercane6376 Sorry, I am not sure if I understand your question or what you’re referring too - can you point to a time stamp in the video!
WTF, so good vid dude
Really cool
Great hearing the Mr Fingers demo, and your videos here on the Pro-800… I’m a beginner with Synths, but I may have to acquire one of these and see if I might be able to get to grips with it.
Great to hear! Thanks!
@@tomnoise23 just made the purchase, been watching a few of your videos. Thank you, they’re incredibly calm and clear, and seem very good for a beginner like me to understand as you calmly decisively discuss each topic, without it feeling like a freight train aimed solely for experts. Thank you.
@@OpticalChaos awesome, thank you! Please note that this video was based on an old firmware version. They released some updates since so some details may be different. Enjoy your new synth!
I just received my UB-Xa. How can i make an Init patch so i can create my own sound?
Press shift & write, then use the encoder right to the display to select ok and confirm by pressing the encoder. (about 12:50 in the video)

Thank you! Cheers!
🙏❤️🙏Awsome how you did this beautiful peace of music bring to life
Beautiful! I was looking for ideas for ambient patches on my shared system. This is inspiring!
Not only does it sound beautiful.. but they look beautiful too! I always kind of regretted not buying an original Roland HS -101 back in 82. But?! With the very limited funds of a 16-year-old? I waited two more years and bought one of the first Roland Juno 60s instead! This performance of yours has inspired me to dig out my Juno 60, JD 800 and d50 and make it nice new spot for them and my home studio! Now if only I can find the DCB to MIDI converter for the Juno 60... Lol It's got to be in this house somewhere!!! Lol Cheers! - Judson & Buddy!?
Wonderful comment, thanks so much! I bought my first SH101 for 50 Deutsche Mark in 1994. The time when no one wanted analogue synths anymore 🙂
Love it! Sounds great.
Thanks so much!

Thank you for this tutorial. I wish the user manual was this informative. With everything you cover on this video it pretty much can point most synth-savy users into how to unlock the true inner powers of this amazing synth.. Great work!
Thank you! I’m very glad if it’s helpful!
lovely, the part around 14:50mn has those amazing typical smashing envelopes !
Interesting. I don't understand, you are controlling the Antonus with the Machine Plus, and then do many samples of it to do that sort of Fm sound that goes up and down?
Yes exactly. Sort of like a looper. I am recording sound by sound as a loop, after programming/recording the midi sequence, that controls the antonus with each new pad on Maschine Plus.
@@tomnoise23 what a great tool... i didn't know you could do that in direct live !
That clicking sound makes it very annoying. Sad..
What are you referring to?
That is sensational, havent got a 2600 yet. Want to get the MS5.. Been trying to duplicate this lead from TESTE THE WIPE , on my Behringer K2 , ,, any chance you could have a crack at the lead which starts at 1min15seconds? czcams.com/video/lBCD9a6xJm4/video.htmlsi=3IvZHyfZAb50Nztf Much appreciated. ✌️🇦🇺 🪃
That lead sound doesn’t sound too difficult in my opinion but the most important thing is the effects that it is using. This phased delay reminds me a lot of the OhmBoys Delay VST from back in the day.
@tomnoise23 agreed, a lot of time went into the delays , sounds like a Boss SE50, we're VST's available in 1991 ?
@@andrewverran3498 ha! :) no, but maybe the concept is similar. Just a thought. I‘d need to experiment and dive deeper.
@tomnoise23 cheers m8, a few friends have narrowed it down to an MS20 , a Vocoder , and a BOSS SE50.. ( If you count the Boss SE50 as a vocoder , then 2 SE50s )..sounds like half the sounds are being bussed out to a vocoder. Reverse engineering is always FUN !!!
@@andrewverran3498Yeah, Vocoder makes sense, now as you mentioned it. I only had an SE-70 back in the day. Could that phasing delay be the SE-50?
I love your comment about sounding like it has reverb, that's exactly how i used to describe it to people back in the 80's when demonstrating the synth. One of my favourite synths of all time, ...and i desperately need to get mine repaired as well.
This is just pure awesome - What would i have done to view something like this 20 or more years ago.

Analog ear porn for real. Thanks for posting.
I don't hear such a diference...
It’s not night and day. But it’s fair to say that CZcams compression is taking away some details.
@@tomnoise23 of course, so I don't understand how the viewers here can hear the difference... as the compression kills any difference.
Great video! Thank you! Just got mine yesterday
Glad you liked it. Congrats and enjoy your new synth!
The fact that the 2-pole CEM3320 filters can do this is pretty significant since it was SEM filters in the original OB-X. All it takes is some thought and the proper application of parameter controls as you have demonstrated. It should even be easier in the UBX as it will have the SEM filters among other tools.
Opening up with Der Mussolini. A gentleman with class !
Before clicking here, there was only one other context I could think of where portamento glides could be triggered with polyphonic aftertouch. That was in the Apple software Garage Band. During the brief stretch when I had uploaded that particular application to my tablet, I got a kick out of trying to duplicate those slides at the end of the synthesizer section of the Toto song “Rosanna”.
brilliant
Love the R2 clean up intermission! Great tracks Tom!
i saw you have a behringer 2600 as well, will be cool to her the same song with that to really feel the difference in a full song context
I was thinking about that too. But in the end it would be very hard to make the sounds similar. Even if I‘d make the same song again now on the 2600m, it would not sound the same. I have recorded some other DM songs from that time with the Behringer.
@@tomnoise23 yeah make sense, I will check them thx
