Leaking Fuel Rails, after I put the Jeep back together this was the last thing holding me back, I was getting leaks on the quick connect fittings. Realizing the fuel rail was the culprit, I went to a local junkyard and picked up an old fuel rail but had to install my old injectors into the new fuel rail.

Jeep YJ Disconnecting Tub for removal
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 3 lety
Welcome to Offthejeepend! in this video, we disconnect the 95 YJ tub for removal, a good practice is to label things as they are taken off, also bolts and nuts that you take off should be labeled or set in a good spot. the jeep yj is very simple to take apart as you will see, I would say its almost 40 nuts and bolts, 3 or 4 wiring harness connections, and the pedals. Enjoy the video and check o...

Tell me what rim and tire work with it like some thought Jeep Wrangler jy
Dude your a life saver let me try this on my yukon. I had a hose leak in my passat before I have to go through hell the high pressure hose cost me 400$ similar hole like yours due to rubbing on the belt. I sold that vehicle I wish I have seen this video earlier.
Thank you for the video! I have a pinhole in my AC line. I will definitely give this a shot. Thanks for uploading. Very helpful!
anyone know what the tube on the heat shield is for? (you touch it at 1:20) It not connected to anything on all the 2.5 i've seen and its driving me nuts
Just, pulled my rear track bar off my 91 YJ last week. What a difference!
What size jack did you use
I want to put it on a discharge line, that is leaking where the rubber is crimped to the aluminum. Does it bond to rubber?
Dude, next time you do a tutorial, finish your thoughts and actually show us how to do things
I love stock jeeps and cars.
Did you cut the floor brace or no?
I have a 89 YJ and a 07JK. Those JK rims don't look right on the YJ. Two totally different eras.
Shut up bruuh
So how is the transmission all this time later?
The book says to use Dex/Merc 😳
My 93 2.5 do the supercharger thing, is derpy but I like it
Hey question about your power steering bracket. Was that stock on the YJ or was that some sort of TJ upgrade you did? The other power steering brackets I see look different. Nice video btw very helpful
Good job man, you do what you have to do.
Rube Goldberg: The Master of Absurd Machines Rube Goldberg was a cartoonist who drew absurd machines that performed simple tasks in complicated ways LIVES ON in JEEP engineering.
Thanks for taking time to make this.
Could this be done with bolts and large washers without the nit strip...
On the right side near the exhaust it is very tight and is easier with the nut strip In my opinion
Where can i get this stuff from?
Any auto parts store or walmart
For ac lines that have a hole or crack.....I wonder if you use shark bites???
No chance, sharkbites are strictly for water not to mention AC and plumbing lines are different sizes
Thank you so much for this video!!!
Any recommendations of why YJ wouldn't start after a simple fuel line (had to replace a section of the nylon tubing on supply line) and quick connect replacement on both the supply and return lines? I get sufficient fuel running through the supply line when disconnected from the fuel rail but as soon as I hook it up fully, I can't get a start.
Possible fuel pressure regulator?
I swear i couldnt ask for a more detailed video. this was perfect. I just got some rusted dorrs with problems since brand new ones cost hundreds, and these ones off face book marketplace i got for $80. need paint, but the internals needed to be oiled but I didnt know how to open them. thank you
Great Video. Where did you find the return and supply lines at??
I think they are just two 5/16 pre made connectors and I just put quick connects on the other ends
Never seen this done on CZcams before, some item part numbers used would help others
Any idea what the torque is for the fuel pump gasket bolts?
Are the gas lines (hoses) different sizes? Also, you said the ‘top’ line goes to which fuel line on top of the fuel pump?
They should be the same size, I believe on the fuel pump the forward most connection goes to the inline filter "Supply".
@@offthejeepend178 Thank you for your reply. From these photos, can you tell which is which? drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LAyqSRIXykaTNK7M-R-9wAh6XeVknI8Z?usp=sharing
Finally a video of reassembling the ‘dropped tank’. I hope I put the fuel intake hose in the right fuel line.
I bought 5 17 inch. Tires were fact with 300 miles for 200 dollars. Will they rub with stock suspension? they are basically 31.15 size
Mine had 18s with a 1 1/4 body lift and fender flares on, but I've also had 31.5 with 15 inch rim and no lift that didn't rub
Thanks, They are off of a jl
WhT does this due I’m a YJ owner
Sometimes after a lift kit the shock tubes with rub on the rear axle or won't be able to fit
Thanks for the video, great detail. A tip for anyone doing this, the sawtooth pieces are setup to be inserted/removed from the top. There is very little room to do this inside the door and it is very difficult to do on some models. Before you put the new handle in the door, remove the metal clip that engages the teeth on the sawtooth bracket, and flip them around 180 degrees, so they are upside down. NO tools needed for this, easy to do with fingers. This will allow the sawtooth brackets to install bottom-up, when in the door. There is much more room to access this way and makes the job much easier.
Atf type 4...
Its dexiii for the aw4 take that bad advice bullshit somewhere else.
You are supposed to use atf type 4. If you didn't you just phucked up. You can use Lucas all day long but must be atf type 4 not universal type. You just destroyed what was left of you transmission
Not in the AW4 transmissions. They use Dex III.
Detron 3
ok, 2 years later how about an update? Did the Freon seep out over time?
The freon did slowly leak out after about a year, but I changed the heater core and did the evap at the same time
@@offthejeepend178Why not add an update to the description? ;)
Haha I'm pretty sure it slowly leaked out, mostly a quick cheap fix for the summer. I did the heater core and figured do the evap while the duct compartment was out
Are all the bolts inside 14 too?
If I remember correctly, yes
Just bought a '95 YJ on 35's and drove it from NJ to Texas. LOVE It! I have to adjust e brake for inspection here. Junk yard ebrake conversion next. Thanks!
Outstanding Idea!!!
Hey do you remember what size bolts you used for the front of the skid plate
I think they are just 1/2 inch
Great vids bro. keep them coming!! 👍
Will this work on the ac compressor
This is pretty much just for pinhole leaks on AC lines.
FYI to other YJ folks - the NAPA brand replacement interior handles hold up well. You can order them online and they come with the appropriate clips to lock the rods in. The clips that come with the new handle are not the same ones that come in the repair pack of clips. The ones on the handle are better by far and hold up quite well. The new interior handle will also make your now over 27 year old YJ look fancy.
Cant you cut pipe and slip a coupling on it or put rubber hose with pipe clamps on it
It's aluminum so it's not easy to weld In the first place, let alone in the position it is in. And I think a rubber hose would leak.. too high of pressure
@@offthejeepend178 either way it’s a pain lol but this way does work especially in a rush used similar stuff on exhaust manifold till i could replace it and it held on for good couple months
So did this as a temporary fix , and really just to see if I was correct about the leaking spot , it holds well, but of course there’s no real way to make a solid seal there’s always gonna be a small amount escaping . However it saves me some time and money and it works
There brazen rods which are best for Aluminium welds its more like soldering a pipe and can get them at most hardware stores
Definitely would be better to use aluminum rods, my leak was so close to the firewall and on the bottom of the pipe making it really hard to get a good weld
@@offthejeepend178 I wasn’t sure if you knew about them a lot of people don’t i just recently found out about them just haven’t used them yet but might have a chance really soon lol
You’ve pulled off the impossible, pretty impressive
Thank you!
Glad it worked. I assume you evacuated the air before replacing refrigerant? How is it holding now?
Yes I do HVAC for a living and used the vaccum pump off my work van but bought new hoses just for 134A. And I did add a sealant to the 134A just in case but all good still!!
What was that Tool that you used to Pull the Bolt down while you unscrewed the Nut?

did you have to replace any of the bolts? You didn't say.
The front three bolts, I had to add new metal to the lip on the frame and drill new holes with new bolts. In the rear I had some carriage bolts laying around to replace some of the rusted old bolts.
