You can't even imagine how big The Police were in the first half of the 80s (and '79, when this one came out). They were one of the biggest bands in the world, had hit after hit after hit and incredible albums, MTV videos etc. Just icons. And they called it quits while they were at the top. All 3 are very, very successful people, not only Sting. Andy & Stewart are icons unto themselves & have done so much. Steward Copeland is idolized by many of the drummers who came after him, did film scores, classical compositions etc. Andy Summers has always continued to play and has had many albums. One of the best bands ever.

If you ever get a chance to see Steve Martin perform live with The Steep Canyon Rangers, they put on a heck of a show. In addition to being a great comedian and actor, Steve is a grammy award winning musician.

The Graceland tour came to Berkeley in 1984(?) and I was fortunate to be in the Berkeley high school auditorium to see it! When people ask me what was my favorite concert, I immediately say Graceland. I've been to dozens and dozens of concerts, and this one really stands out. The South African musicians were outstanding and you could tell by the audiences reaction. The album went on to be album of the year, well deserved!

Paul Simon was at the lowest point of his life, both professionally and personally, when a friend invited him to come to South Africa in 1986. Apartheid was still in force and Simon got a huge amount of criticism for going. But oh my lord, what came out of that trip! He played with and befriended so many black South African musicians who would never have been heard of in the West. And they created this perfect gem of an album, Graceland. It gave visibility and acclaim to the South African artists and it re-launched Simon's career.

I think this was either 1992 or 1993. I was 12 or 13.

There is a lot to love about Stevie but one of The things I love him for is he loved the people that was his idols he would get them on stage with him and share the stage with them because he wants his fans to listen to the ones that inspired him

The reason they was laughing so hard at the end of the song was Johnny was supposed to sing the last verse and he forgot the words so Stevie had to sing it .

I believe that the song was a joke especially for the movie, but that the singer was not in on the joke.

Great to see young people get into this 70s music again. My go to late 70s and 80s bands. Mark is still producing great music. These guys came from a poorer area of NE England and probably experienced something totally wild to them when they first played in London. I remember playing the recorded track to my Dad in the late 70s, when he was about as old as I am now and he was impressed! It was sad that David Knopfler (rhythm) left the group.

The Blues have always made me happy.....it's just the sound and feeling. The lyrics should make you weep, but the sound lifts you up!

Straight up blues guitar, baby! SRV was a BEAST on the guitar! He is mesmerizing to watch - he is like one with the guitar - and just when you think it cannot get any better, he starts to sing - and he certainly has a voice for the blues. He was an amazing talent - born with a gift. Sadly, we lost him way too soon in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990.
