Yooo Kev : a minor correction to the Title, if i may good sir? Its called "Intune" , not to be confused with iTunes. I just wanted to point this out in case anyone is searching for specifics. This can be confusing for beginners. Thanks for always sharing Kev :) !
The title is intunes. I didn't put itunes

Nice work
Hey guys - I got my A+ two weeks ago and I have 2 interviews lined up for this coming week. For one of the jobs, I got past the phone questions and I’m meeting the IT director on Monday and all I did was follow Kevs tips - and the market in my city is crazy right now Put those homelabs on your resume, make sure your resume looks good, answer questions honestly and show you’re willing to learn. If you don’t know - say you don’t know. I’ll come back and let you know if I get hired so Kev can add my case to his yearly numbers

Hi! 😊
Hey Kev, I have managed to follow along reasonably well with this. A few mishaps along the way but I managed to work around them. I have followed your exact steps, however, when I got towards the end and changed my "helpdesk's" password in AD, I go to login to the helpdesk account and it informs me that the account has been disabled. Do you have a workaround with this as I was so close to finishing this section? Really appreciate what you're doing for us up and coming helpdesk folks, you're doing amazing things!
I'm a bit confused on the first portion of the resume "Help Desk Technician". For work experience, I worked for a little over a year at a Help Desk at my University, so should I include most of the points from the first section under my work experience instead? I am not sure what I am supposed to put at the first portion since you had mentioned that it is where it's supposed to be very tailored to the HR.
I think I'm just confused because the first portion seems to be describing work experience already, and so I don't know what to actually put at the top.
@@giannap3048 you would put your current helpdesk job under experience
@@KevtechITSupport Thank you for your quick response! In that case, what information should I put in that top portion if I take it out to list under my work experience? From your example, you had listed working at Chipotle, etc. under work experience, but why did you put Help Desk at the top if you had the experience?
@giannap3048 all the stuff on the top is tailored to apply for a helpdesk job since this resume is for someone who had no experience. If you already have experience. You can remove the top section.
@@KevtechITSupport Thank you so much Kev! I really appreciate your video and your help in clarifying this up. I'm looking forward to watching more of your content!

Which course the A+ comptia one ?
Hi, if you ever get stuck in the last 28:00. Make sure your domain range is .com .org .local . My silly head had the domain name .online. I had to restart all of my virtual machines and follow back to the 1st video. I hope this will save someone's the pain of going back to the beginning like I did :))
Any tips on where to take the comptia A+ cert test? Online? In person? Vouchers? Any info is greatly appreciated, thank you
I did it in person. I don't like doing it at home. Too many distractions and you can get disqualified easily. You have to register in Pearson.
Kevin this is a great and useful tip. I think one of the major reasons why the job market slows down is because we are close to the general election period.

The job market sucks. I’m an IT Manager / Sys admin and I’m having trouble finding another job (trying to relocate). And I have a few years experience. Hopefully the market makes big improvements when Trump gets releected.
I’m a cloud engineer and feel what you’re going through. But That’s not how the job markets works. Presidents never have and never will dictate the job market. Corpos that do enough lobbying do.

Post a lot on LinkedIn. That’s how I got my desktop support job with Edwards lifesciences. Right now I’m contracted till hire. But In general getting paid and gaining more knowledge each day with the company. Edit: keep in mind the position I had before this was with Allied universal was also hired through LinkedIn and was a contract roll as well lasted there for 6 months. Keep in mind that was first IT gig I ever had so putting Edwards lifesciences and Allied Universal will look good on my resume. On another note I had no IT EXPERIENCE at all before my position with Allied Universal the only thing I had was Comptia Security + certification. Other than that had no professional IT experience up until working with Allied Universal.
Hello sir. Wonderful video. quick question: I want to break into tech and I currently work as an IT Support Intern for a hostpial. As for aqquring certifications I know the common IT ones like A+/Net+/CCNA and such. Those ones are very great and can definelty help you get a job. But how about like bootcamps and like your trainnings on Udemy and some Coursera (like the Google IT Support or IBM). Yes, those certs are probably less valued on the job market even though they are impactful, but would it be useful to put some of those on a Linkdeln or do you think they are more or less certs that are just for learning basics and not for proffesional development?
@JHKEYZ I would keep relevant certifications on LinkedIn. Won't really put udemy or coursera on LinkedIn.
@@KevtechITSupport Hmmmm, thats a very interesting view. I do agree somewhat but I do know people who have gotten jobs from those certs, yes they still had other resume boosters like past experience or projects. What about Certs from Universities, like a Information Systems Cert from a college or a Security Cert from a education insittution, are those useful to put on linkdeln?
Anything from a university is helpful on a resume or LinkedIn
I am also wondering as I have been reading up on LinkedIN headlines, if you're studying for the COMP TIA, in essence being a student and trying to get into IT, how do you present that on your LinkedIN profile, is it wrong to say "aspiring student studying IT?" Or is there a better way to phrase it?
I don't recommend saying aspiring student. What you can do is look at other LinkedIn profiles as examples.

im looking for a entry level it help desk job im currently finishing up the google it support certificate. I have a bunch of customer service experience would that be enough to land a help desk role? or would i need to get an A+/NET+/SEC+ Im based in california thanks!
Customer service experience does help when it comes to working IT Support/Helpdesk. If you have a solid resume with some nice project works using homelab you may be able to land a job with those job titles I just mentioned. Having the A+ increases your chances of landing those same jobs. It will be a lot harder to get a job without that cert.
@@KevtechITSupport appreciate you will work on that a+ aswell after im done and see from there
Thank you for mentioning the google cert that was very helpful to hear in this video! I think this is one of my favorite videos- great outline of points and advice! Love that you mentioned to have two separate resumes! Makes a lot of sense. I have been looking at my local libraries for the COMP TIA book to read, but they do not have it, is there another good place to read up on it? And do you have an example of an IT portfolio in your videos? I understand an artist's portfolio as that is what I studied, but visually not sure what an IT portfolio is. Great content as always! Many thanks for posting!

Was previously grinding the Google IT Support Professional course & no hands-on practice drove me crazy. Luckily found this video to start exploring the "Active Directory" job requirement. Thank you Kev.
I recently left my first help desk job from a pretty toxic company as in the upper management just doesn't care about what's happening in the trenches (even after my team lead and manager brought up our concerns multiple times), but at the same time, I was pretty damn lucky to get that first help desk job with no experience or certifications. To be fair, that first job was geared for those with no experience. My previous company's at a point where it's brutal for everyone who would work my normal shift times and now all my old coworkers, including my team lead, want to leave the company - and the upper management has absolutely no concern for this. Even they are all saying that the market looks pretty rough right now. I was able to leave that job safely though by getting a contract with a local bank for a job that's significantly less technical than my last job, but it still pays a little more, I'd have way less to have to keep up with, and I seem to have a lot more opportunities for growth there. I've been searching for other help desk roles while I was still employed at the previous company before I got the contract and man, the job market's been so tough. I've only been able to find two openings that I felt qualified for and I was able to get interviews for both of them, but I didn't get an offer for either of them because I didn't have the experience they were looking for, even though I've already had a help desk role. For the contract though, I was supported throughout the process so much with interview prep and what not, and I was able to get the job pretty convincingly. Not only I had the experience the hiring manager was looking for, but I also have process improvement experience before going into IT, which she expressed that she would like to leverage even though it's not necessarily part of the normal job responsibilities. My contract is for 6 months with the intention of getting converted to full-time as long as I do well, but with the current state of the market, I don't think it's a good idea to just "go with the flow". Even though I'm already "in", going for my A+ certification and building home labs during my 6 months as a temp would be super helpful for positioning me in a much better spot on top of confiding in my manager and colleagues as much as I can, and I really don't care if they're overkill for my current job. I really should have done these things earlier if anything.
Omg I need this right now 😅

Hi Kev, I have to say, I've been binging all the practice interview videos of yours and the amount of benefit I've gained is unreal. I'm from the UK and the job market here is slightly different, I've been looking at both Apprenticeships and entry level Helpdesk roles. After doing the labs and updating my resume, creating a GitHub with all my projects so I can directly show them to employers, I've been gaining confidence and a bit hope that maybe it is possible to actually get a job, even in this horrific job market (especially in UK). I've just signed up to a company's networking event to speak with hiring managers about the job vacancies, and I'll be sure to bring my A game. It's really tough but I have to say, you and others have helped me come out of a really dark place, thinking I've failed, to now having some hope that I'm getting somewhere. Got my A+ Core 1 exam booked later this month, I'm hoping within 2024 I'll finally find a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for your amazing channel and informative content.
