@FrenchEstateAgent yup, you can buy it and the whole hamlet that goes with it for under 1 million. Plus, it needs a roof, badly. Lots of leaks. The whole place is fabulous, but for the gravel pit. Looks like this one will not be saved. A tragedy.

Oh, and I forgot, it also includes a few hi dred acres if farmland.

As for the data, I totally agree, I have already done several videos about medians, but I found it so surprising that this village was so expensive... I have since checked the DVF website, and there are no real "outstanding" sales in the commune that could explain it. Good luck with the Chateau !

Do you mean the cheapest ? That will probably be in La Creuse. as for "Best", well everyone has their own idea of what best is. ie Fred thinks it is livine in the heart of a pine forest with no views nor neighbours, but Joe doesn't as he is allergic to pine resin and wants more sunlight.

CZcams is a learning curve. I try to add new bits into the mix each video, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. But I am getting closer to myself being happy with them.

In those two villages, I can inderstand that, but you have Perigueux, Bergerac, Sarlat la Caneda there. Bordeaux is'nt too far. Then you have all the chateaux and medieval villages. Green-laning, moutain bikes, riding, canoeing. Plenty of restaurants, al fresco evenings, etc, etc. If you are looking for 24 hour nightlife, move to Paris. But if you like the simpler pleasurses Dordogne if great.

That's rural France! ... and it's why people want to live there, joie de vivre!

It's quite interesting all the different terms they have here for house styles (well at least for an estate agent!!) it doesn't simplify the house searching though.

Normal agencies manage to do it for a lot less! Taking into account the average prices in their respective markets!

Yes there is, the taxe foncière which is paid by all home owners, based on local services in the commune and the size of your plot of your land. Then there is taxes d’habitation, which now only applies to second home owners and is based on the size of property you have and its facilities.

It's not that bad. And frankly I'd rather have nice anglo-saxon boomers buying and saving all the chateaux rather than have the government harbour third world invaders at our costs in those same chateaux and ruin the life and sights, and property value of everyone. Lookup chateau + migrants on Google. They don't even ask your opinion, the state just pre-empts what it needs and ruins by forcing those people down on you. It's an actual thing our rulers have been doing for 10 years when that madness started. Sure, they'll tell you to cope and that they're only doing that because we somehow need cheap labour, but no. They want to destroy the white race

When you buy a chateau for under 500K, it doesn't necessarily mean that is all you have.

@@FrenchEstateAgent but it usually is. The prices seem to be steadily falling. The Russian sanctions on gas and oil are causing the deindustrialization of France, Germany, etc. It has effected the pile of stones market. People simply can't keep warm in winter. I notice so many go with a plan to do a youtube channel or wedding venue to pay the mortgage and other expenses. So many are doing this the market is saturated. Then the youtube channel is about selling it half renovated or their bankruptcy. France is in a demographic emergency. Like the UK and all of Europe. The farms are super cheap too as the young do not want to be farmers. They want a city life and job. And there are very few white ethnic French these days. The young are foreigners and their offspring. The EU globalists are letting the farm markets become flooded with cheap product from other places. In France the farmers are regulated to death. Making a livable profit has become problematic. Most of the UK retirees are going into France because it is cheap, not because they are rich.

What ever makes you happy. I didn’t realise that all the UK retirees were actually all wanting to buy chateaux!
