  • If you are wanting to move to France, one thing on the minds of a lot of people are the visas and whether you have what you need to apply for one.
Quite a few videos exist about this subject, but most cover all case scenarios, and in the end you are no longer sure what to do.
So I thought I would do a video explaining the basics..... and here you go.

For accommodation, I understand they generally accept a 3 month short term rental, and you can stay with someone so long as they provide official notice that you will be doing so.

For the minimum funds, the requirement is 1330 for each adult, but the person processing can take into account that you are a couple and reduce that, but it is not official as I understand it.

Thanks Dan, for another important video. You are spot on regarding not knowing what to do. There are so many long drawn confusing videos on line that mention what you just covered in less than a few minutes, The wife and I we are at early stage of hoping to live in France. (in fact four years away) when state pension age comes along. We own our home , so have no mortgage to worry about therefore we will be cash buyers when we decide to sell our property, and hope to buy a house in France. Our concern is.... Will we be excepted by the French government to live our final years in France, with having just our state pensions, plus a small monthly military pension of. (£451.79). Plus my small (£80,000, work pension) Also, Pending on what we may receive on the sale of our 2 bed home here in Wales, hopefully at least( £120,000 ). We would then be hoping to buy a 2 bed, house or cottage. no land, near to a city or a town. In departments of: Brittany, Haute Vienne, Charente, or Lot Et Garonne. In your knowledgeable opinion do you think we will qualify? Kind regards
    Philip & Diane.
