@@IAM205ENTERTAINMENT Yup! 1-2yrs locally your good but there will be some companies who do require OTR experience instead but that’s usually companies that are only OTR and those are only a few in between so you’ll be straight.

@@timothyhorton6352 I agree there should be a longer training period but I also think there’s no better way to learn how to swim then being thrown in the water. No amount of training at a school will give the real experience of being on the road.

@@mikegarcia7318 Likewise! As far as getting into the trucks try going to their website and seeing if they’re offering paid schooling that’s how I got in. There’s also 3rd parties that will pay for your CDL and hire you directly on but I’m not sure which ones.

Your chances are very slim. Too many drivers in the US for these companies to venture overseas.

@@diesel4x4x4 I appreciate it. As far as experience and pay it will vary depending on where you live. Some locations pay more or less then others & for experience it all depends on their criteria when hiring new drivers I would call and ask. I was hired directly because they paid for my schooling so my case is different.

I don’t know, I’m not a owner op. But I do think owner op can get away with it easier because they don’t work for a company so there’s no one to request they take a drug test unless by getting pulled over and DOT request one for suspicious reasons or getting into a accident in your truck.

They paid for my schooling and I was hired on directly so I’m not sure what experience they require when they hire drivers.

Yup, I have a felony from 12rs ago. As long as it’s nothing recent you’re straight. I believe they check back 3-5 years some company’s may check back up to 10 but it won’t hinder you if it’s older than that.

I don’t discuss my finances online brother but I’m sure you can definitely make good money with a local job. I salute you guys OTR that takes a lot of sacrifice.

My best advice is to make sure you pay attention to your mirrors 2. when backing for any maneuver the set up of your truck is what’s going to determine you successfully completing any maneuver. 3. Get out and look, that way you can see the path of your trailer so you know which corrections to make. Everything else will come to you with time and experience. Take your time and believe in yourself.

Most want at minimum 3 months experience. It’s tough to land a job with no experience at but that due to insurance not the company itself.
