The first time a driver who’s only driven autos drives a manual, their mind will be blown. So much more control of the truck, smoother slow speed maneuvering, and a lot less slamming into docks. I was just forced into an auto after 35 years of manuals, and I absolutely hate it. I’m going to end up leaving my 20 year employer because of it.
I’ve tried manuals and it was a challenge so I took the easy route and switch to auto. But I can imagine being accustomed to manuals to then switch to auto, kind of like a culture shock lol. But if you love trucking just hang in there man, try to find a company that has manuals there are plenty of them still out there.

Had one went to the dmv got it off lost out like 3 jobs because of it
@@AceSmoke662 Yeah I’ve lost out on an opportunity because of it too, at this point its not that important to me but maybe eventually I’ll get it off if I feel the need to.
I can't even find a school in florida that test with manuals
@@headhunter7881 That’s crazy, never heard of that, what about the school you went to get your CDL from? Because how else did other drivers get a CDL driving manuals in FL, there’s got to be a way around it.
@@rydewithty Well I don't have the money to go to the actual school and the ones that train you if you sign a contract through them they seem to only train in auto I've looked everywhere I work at fedex for the last 8 years and my contractor sold the company so I lost al vacation and about 600 a month pay so I can't really afford to go to the school I'm selling my boat and to pay the bills until I get on my own put there but ya seems all the places that pay for your cdl all autos
