I’ve been with AFP for 1 year and 3 months and thinking about going for 2 years as a local trucker and just find a better paying trucking job. I HATE CNG TRUCKS. Its so freaking slow and you got other people be honking at you & you can’t do anything about it. Came from OTR & did it for 4 years. I wanted something local and found AFP last year.
That’s what it’s looking like for me too just stay local & what made you leave OTR?
@@rydewithty I did OTR 4 years and the lifestyle wasn’t for me anymore and just wanted something local. I don’t have wife or kids. Just single. I’m just out here grinding this out with AFP & after that find something better.
Get your tanker and hazmat endorsements. Also get a TWIC card. You’ll have a lot more options for truck driving jobs.

whats the pay like for you at amazon local?
Everyone is different. So for me I work 4 days a week, 13-14 hours a day so about 52-56 hours for 4 days and making $24 an hour. Sometimes they even give me 5 days a week and the overtime $36 is quite nice for me and I make way more than OTR.

@@yessir9216 Pretty much the same for me but I make a little more. I really like the setup of having 3 days off and working 4 gives you time to get other things done outside of work. But I can’t believe you make more now then OTR, OTR sounds like a scam if that’s the case, I always hear how it’s more money OTR but I’m starting now to hear different. Who was you with?

@@rydewithty I was with CFI *Contract freighters Inc*, Variant which they are under U.S Express and JB hunt. I wasn’t making any money when I was OTR. So I quit and plus the lifestyle and now I make more money with AFP than OTR companies, plus having 3 days off is a charm.
