I just got a FED3 a few days ago and this video was quite helpful in understanding the ins and outs of the camera! thanks for that. =]

I bought several of these from ebay that were all parts only and discovered that all of the errors, whether view finder, LCD colors, card reading errors, lense errors, flash errors, usb errors were all a result of the ribbon cables being incorrectly seated, into the SY-080 main board ~ in the lense housing. Repairs take about 15 minutes and are easy for a decent DIYer. Service Manuals are readily available online.

Keep going Peter, your knowledge is invaluable. Regarding editing digital photos, there have been a few high profile cases where things like guns have been dropped in or taken out of a shot, changing the context entirely. If a news site writes an editorial based on the photograph, and it subsequently turns out the victim was an aggressor, or vice versa, they're opening themselves up to litigation. It was the case that news organisations would only accept out of camera jpegs. Whether that is still the case I don't know.

I have the B&H Auto 35. The US import of this Japanese design, rebranded. Picked it up at a thrift store in a bundle with another camera and lens. For $25, what a steal! It works, except it gets stuck open at 1/8 shutter

Working out by deduction, you are either 86, 87, 88, years old and so congratulations on your longevity along with mental acuity.

Nice story Peter and some good tips, a little over reactive as there are thousands of these out there working, i have about ten of the various models of Asahi, it is lovely to see that you are reunited and i will certainly certainly take a look at your other videos. I collect cameras and lenses, love the photographs, my Great Great Grandad had a Studio in Manchester in the 1800s
