Good morning Peter from Texas! I have a Nikon Speed light SB-600 that I use with my Nikon D7100. My hubby bought it second hand for me 4 yrs ago. I have never understood most of it's features until today. I never even knew what TTL meant, but other than to leave it on that setting. I was frustrated by what I thought were complicated settings, but you have opened my eyes to it's potentials. I am excited by my newfound knowledge and will share a bit with the scouts I am teaching the photography merit badge. Tonight's our last night, but now I can at least tell them I know how to better use my flash. 😁 They have been having great fun with my Brownie Hawkeye and a crazy little Revere 3M Automatic 1064 126 camera. They are fascinated with the flash cubes. I only hope I get some pictures off the 39 yr old film cartridge I'm running thru it. I'm gonna push it and develop it in b&w. Thanks so much for the video and love from the north Texas area. ❤️❤️ Ps. My favorite, most used 35mm is my trusty Pentax K100 that I bought second hand in 1988. 😀
WOW !! What a KIND COMMENT and a Fellow SCOUT !! I was in 11th East Ham Scouts in 1955 and when I was sent to GERMANY in the British Army I taught the Cub Scouts of British Soldiers in ISERLOHN for a while ! I learnt my Photography by many YEARS of 'Camera Club Membership' since 1951 and now at 85 years old teach the 'Beginners' at Brentwood and District Photographic Club. I HAVE been to USA several times but NEVER to TEXAS but I can say a loud 'YEEE-HAAA ' !! Keep Snapping !
I am not impressed with the Canon Speedlite 540 Z which I have tried and compared to my old Braun Variozoom 340 SCA which are better and I can recommend the Braun which you can find cheap secondhand.
I have the 540EZ and a 380 ii which I need to use especially in the flash and slave mode. You explained it better than a manual. Thanks Peter
