Fantastic stories, fantastic journey. Thanks for sharing your stories and opinions
What a wonderful interview . God Bless.
Absolutely brilliant
Thank you for the story. Glad to see you Mr Elgar. You look all singing and dancing too.
Peter, your enthusiasm is contagious. It always puts a smile on my face. My wife knows instantly that I'm watching your video...(I don't smile that often) ;)
Peter you are an absolute legend.
Fantastic Peter. Thank you.
Absolutely great! Thank you so very much for sharing with all of us! Love your channel.
You have a great memory.
We had such a great time interviewing the legend that is Peter Elgar for this video 😊
An interesting insight of Pete's photography journey from a young man to the present.
What a great interview and truely interesting story ... Thank you Peter for sharing this !!!
Peter you are an absolute delight. May you live to be 180 and may the last voice you hear be mine . Jake E. Btw the footie picture was fabulous.
What an amazing journey. Thank you for sharing Peter. Your presence on CZcams makes it a better place. 😄
My all singing all dancing camera was the K1000... Until someone gave me their ME Super!
Bailey & I both swear by Pentax legendary reliability. Majority of digital fakers can't snap twigs! Never fear, Elgar's here! : )
Enjoyed that Peter. There must have been a lot of skill needed for sports photography with the old cameras. Now press photography will all be digital, but I for one love the magic of using film and the old cameras which seem to have a soul.
Wonderful video, Peter,
You're looking really well and so pleased you're still enjoying this journey .
Your photographic experience is unmatched!
All the best😊
Looking forward to watching this, Peter!
Fantastic! Thank you so much,God bless
Great to see someones cajoled you into giving us a bit more of your life experience Peter.. Good to see you happy and healthy.. You look really well and have enough enthusiasm for a long time yet.. Nice one.. Look forward to the next one : )
Thanks for this, I like it very much. You've lived a photographic life worth documenting, as you did in your three-part life in the British army series. There may be flashier CZcams channels, but there aren't many that prove their talent by showing their photos like you do. That photo of the three football players at Wembley stadium taken with a Pentax Takumar lens is top notch, like so many others that you've shown in your videos. I can't wait for part two.
Glad to see you looking so well Boss. A fascinating trip down Memory Lane of a job fast disappearing.
Thank you for this wonderful video
What a great video! Thank you Peter. You have so much knowledge and experience to share. I started years ago in press in the early 1990’s with Nikon F3 and later the F5 in the late 90’s before moving to digital. I think the F5 is as close as one can get to being digital with a film camera. I still use my Hasselblad 500 CM and Rolleiflexes, they are wonderful machines. Your sports photo looks great! Thank you for sharing!
Wonderfully informative and entertaining video, Mr Elgar.
An absolute legend I listen and watch Peter for hours his enthusiasm is indomitable. I started in newspapers in around ‘89 shooting film on a minolta still shooting newspapers to this day loved every second of it love hearing Pete still so passionate about his cameras and photography the young guns should be hanging off every word. Great interview really enjoyed that looking forward to more 📷📸 stay well Pete mate.
I remember that name. I haven't seen Peter since Barking Camera Club at Westbury House over 50 years ago. We were both members at that time. Mark
WoW All those years ago ! I joined Barking PS after the South Essex Camera Club closed in 1959 and rose to the Dizzy Heights of PRESIDENT then Wife Number 2 went off with the Vice-Chairman so i resigned in 1993 and joined Brentwood full time
Peter are you aware that film is having a huge comeback and it's not just with us old guys there is a tremendous amount of Youth worldwide getting into film photography which is driving the price of used film cameras Sky High. I shot digital for at least 18 years and have found that digital photography to be quite boring but very convenient as I have observed and also falling into the Trap of spray and pray with digital photography. I'm 69 and a half years old and have gone back to film almost 99% it has such a fine art look to it that I absolutely love, however I do like to shoot digital for night time photography
Thanks Peter for your trip down memory lane and your interviewer to encourage you. I have a pentax 200mm f4 lens in almost mint condition. I love your soccer pic. You are what I would call a legend on youtube and anywhere else really. cheers geoff
Hope your 200mm does not g as stiff to focus as MINE !
@@theoldfilmblokeIt's in really good almost mint condition,. I have barely used it. It is annoying when lenses seize up. I have a few that are hard to turn mainly on older rangefinder type cameras.I enjoy your videos. Geoff
I did wonder if the first Pentax you showed was a S3- I got one last year along with a S1a, SV and Spot🤦🏼♀️
Thanks for sharing your camera history. When I worked for newspapers one of our sports photographers got hit in the face by the ball during a football match. Sounds like you avoided such workplace hazards
I bought a ZENIT B body for 9 quids in case I got hit - guess what -- I was using the Asahi PENTAX S3 with 105mm lens and git HIT but gear survived and I got a Black eye !
@@theoldfilmbloke oh, ouch!!
A wonderful insight to the world of the press photographer's endeavours. Thanks, Keith
Marvelous.
Peter another great video, should do one on all your cameras
RAY I already HAVE ! Scroll around my Channel -- all my Camera Systems are there
