Peter! Great to see you active and cooking another video sir!
I love using old gear and getting the best out of it
You are the best 👍
I own this camera and the F717 and as far as I remember they both have a TIFF file option which was Sony's equivalent of RAW format .. and the images are still fantastic for an old camera.
A great video Peter
Not Quite like your NIKON RAY !
I bought several of these from ebay that were all parts only and discovered that all of the errors, whether view finder, LCD colors, card reading errors, lense errors, flash errors, usb errors were all a result of the ribbon cables being incorrectly seated, into the SY-080 main board ~ in the lense housing. Repairs take about 15 minutes and are easy for a decent DIYer. Service Manuals are readily available online.
I owned that camera it was great. It uses a Ccd sensor not a cmos sensor and had great rendering . I made some large prints with it still look great. A little slower then my curent camera Canon R3. Enjoy glad your all healed up.
Just had a look at the 2001 dpreview review of this camera, and they rated it as 'Highly Recommended' and said 'The F707 is a superbly capable digital camera. It produces high resolution, well metered and vividly coloured images. Its resolution chart (and real life) results are nothing short of stunning, with about as much resolution as we could possibly expect from a consumer level 5 megapixel digital camera.' Their sample images at ISO 100 really aren't too bad. Things have moved on since 2001 of course.
Hope you manage to get some decent photos Peter. Good to see you.
Good to see you! I Hope you're feeling well. You are one of my favorite channel!
Wow, thank you!
Keep going Boss.
Keep ‘em coming, Peter! Glad to see you again.
I tried adding a comment with a CZcams link to a video showing how to use this camera as an infrared camera in daylight using a magnet to move an inbuilt filter, but good old CZcams pulled the comment.🤥 So do a search for this camera and infrared and you should find it.
Real blast from the past 😂
It looks like the lens will swivel as well.
I have one of these relics, also acquired for free. Not sure what to do with it.
