    Hey my dude. LANC is "Logic Application Control Bus System". It's used to remote control the camera. It's so you can connect the camera to a controller, a VCR /w LANC to auto start/stop for recording to a VCR or to connect it to a prosumer editing controller. LANC is kind of like RS422, which is a serial port standard made for full on editing controllers and decks, but LANC is a slower, more basic standard and doesn't support timecode. If you check out wikipedia there is an article on it for more research. Keep it up. Enjoying your vids on vintage DV gear. EDIT: Lots of modern cameras have/support LANC. :)

      Hey thanks for sharing that seems pretty complex and definitely seems a little outdated for today’s editing. But still cool to learn all these things about these old cameras.

    Hi Brandon,I think the anti-ground setting is something to do with the camcorder switching itself off if it senses ,say,you are carrying it pointing at the ground while walking or carrying it,I have a Sony with this switch on it and had to look it up.Interesting vid,but nice to see how far we have come with the picture quality compared to today.Thanks for this.

      @brandoncameracollection  Před 2 lety +1

      Interesting that they would find a reason to put something like that on the camcorder 🤔 but thanks for sharing that info I’ll have to play with it and see what it does.

      @@brandoncameracollection BTW the LANC is really just another way of saying 'remote control' a cable remote in other words

    I've had mine for 5 days and its been working great until today! When I'm on camera view, all I get is weird lines and bright blobs. I can barely make out my hand moving in front of the lens. Do you have any idea what's going on? Online someone mentioned a loose/oxidized connection to the ccd sensor, and id have to open it and fix it, but I'm not sure if there's any other way to fix it.

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před 8 dny

      Yeah I’m not exactly sure it could be that or bad capacitors somewhere. You would definitely have to pull it apart and see but that could be a complicated fix

    Hey, I was wondering what fisheye lens would be compatible for the CCD-TRV65?

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před 2 lety

      Yeah I’ll leave a link to one that is compatible. But any fisheye that is a 37mm will work. And if you want the super wade look for like skateboarding get one that is a 0.3x wide. And if you want the vignette look make sure to use the spacer ring it comes with. amzn.to/3Rql5BO

      If I remember right I used a really old tape with this camera which made the footage look kind of crappy

    • @ukfmcbradioservicingTango21
      @ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 Před 10 měsíci +1

      If it isn't a worn tape, it's either a dirty video head or the video head need teplacing. On Video 8 camcorders the sound is recorded in a deeper layer by the video head.

    Hey bro question what do you use to transfer videos the videos for it digitally to a laptop? I have the same one and looking to get them stored.. thanks man!
    I saw on one of your videos of a adapter the ion audio 2 pc hd, would that work for the trv 65?

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před 2 lety

      Yes that would definitely work but I recommend the clearclick video 2digital 2.0 more. Since it records your footage to a sd card or usb drive. And you won’t have to download the drivers and stuff to your computer. And it makes it easy to digitize your footage on the go as well.

    What kind of USB do u use to charge the camera

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před měsícem

      It doesn’t use USB to charge but it uses an old school Sony camcorder power supply/charger. I’ll link a couple options if you need 😊

      You need a video converter like the clearclick video 2digital 2.0 it records your footage to an sd card then you can see it on your computer. amzn.to/3KXmIDk

    Is there a white balance setting?

  • @aiming2shoot
    @aiming2shoot Před 7 měsíci +1

    Is there a way to remove the side bars from the video,?

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Not really. The side bars are there because all screens now days are 16:9 aspect ratio which is rectangular. These older cameras along with like tube screen TV’s were 4:3 aspect ratio which is more square. So there are ways you can stretch the 4:3 to 16:9 but it will make everything look really short and fat and your clips will just look super weird.

    • @aiming2shoot
      @aiming2shoot Před 7 měsíci +1

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @aiming2shoot that I’m not sure. You could have a bad lcd or it could be capacitors going bad. If your able to hook it up to a tv or something you’ll be able to know if it is the screen or not
