Can the camera charge the battery internally cause I have a ac plug for it and it fits in the adapter to turn it on but it wonât charger these type of battery
hey howd you upload the video to your computer?
Congratss on the new house! Hope to see more content with this new house broâ€â€
Hopefully soon đ
Hi Brandon. I have a Sharp Hi8 viewcam VL-H400. It's from my father in law. He past away not long ago. We want the camera to work but don't know how we even charge it. Can you help us?
Yes there should be some links in the description for batteries, chargers, tapes, and video recorders so you can digitize your old tapes as well đ
Would I be able to do a tapeless setup with this?
Oh 100% I definitely recommend looking into a Sony HVR-MRC1 if you want to go tapeless
Does it have to have a disc in it to record and save? Or can it store directly to the SD card?
Does the fisheye have to be opteka? They seemed expensive! Trying to get this camera for pretty cheap. It takes SD card right?
They take pictures to sd card but they record to dvd. And I have a fisheye Iâll link below. Itâs the exact same as the opteka just different name on it. www.ebay.com/itm/296491819775?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ufmp3m6wrmi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ufmp3m6wrmi&var=594424702254&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Hi, when i record a video straight to the sd card, i am filming at 9 frames per seconds. Is there a way to fix this or is the only solution to record on tape or on a VHS recorder?
Yeah these cameras had awful video quality when you recorded to the memory stick. You definitely need to record to a tape to get better video quality
Does the 3.0 offer the option to record with interlacing enabled allowing us to delace the recordings to get the buttery smooth 60fps? Cheers!
No it already deinterlaces the footage at 60fps
@@brandoncameracollection does the 2.0 offer deinterlacing?
@cat_4664 yes
Man, I love the flat wide layout. The big windows too. These old places just exude 'cool'. Well, not temperature cool. You should be proud. I'm proud of you!
Thanks đ yeah these homes were built after ww2 for all the soldiers that came home so they were dirt cheap when they were built but obviously not now days đ Iâm very excited though
Hey Brandon, Im getting a new pd170 and i was just asking how to go tapeless with it, should i use clear click or is there any cheaper way?
Not that I know of I have a playlist of ways to capture footage and go tapeless if that helps you make a decision đ How To Capture Your Video Footage czcams.com/play/PLLCeXl20RsPbMMZhUAIdi5C3HPpPviZ07.html
I was 18 - I bought one of these just because of it's unique design - it was the cheapest MiniDV on the market at the time, and could be had for 149 on sale. Sold it back onto ebay not long after, it was a mediocre performer. I have been collecting and repairing AV equipment since the 90s - enjoy your channel!
Yeah you can definitely tell it was cheaply made. Thatâs awesome you know how to work on older camcorders. You might have to show me a thing or two đ€
This Is Awesome!!!
Is there a way to lower the frame rate when you upload the videos? Itâs super smooth and clean, but I like it when itâs little more ârawâ if that makes sense?
Yeah I used a clearclick video 2 digital 2.0 and they convert there frames from 30 to 60 fps. Not sure how that works but thatâs what it states

hello! Is the Sony HVR-MRC1 compatible with my Camera Canon canon dm-xm1, it does have firewire port, and is very similar to Sony VX 1000, but dont know if it will work.??
It should work although my canon gl1 is the only camera my mrc1 didnât want to work with. So Iâm thinking itâs something to do with my camera. So yes it should work fine
knowledge is key
Congrats on your new house
Thank you đ
Did you know the Civil War is over and it's 2024 with that stupidass mustache?
Does it offer record via external hard drive
I think you could how does your hard drive connect?
@@brandoncameracollection usb
i have a question about this camera, itâs currently off do i buy a charger for the camera or charger for the battery? the question is really do i need to charge my battery to use the camera?
No you donât have to have the battery in to use the camera. If you have the original power supply you can plug it in and turn the camera on as well. The power supply will also charge the battery if the battery is connected to the camera
@@brandoncameracollection do you have any links where i can buy that because i dont have it
@0uuuyay amzn.to/3SbxOei
@@brandoncameracollection thank you
Hey, Brandon! Whatâs the easiest most efficient way to transfer video from this camera to my Mac mini? Is there a FireWire DV to USBc dongle option? Also, is it possible to do this on an iPad Pro?
I don't really know the difference between 8mm and super 8 tapes. Can this camera play super 8?
So you are probably thinking of 8mm and super 8 film. Which is much older than these camcorders. So these use 8mm tapes also known as video8, hi8, and digital8. So any 8mm tape that those formats will work
@@brandoncameracollection Ahh, that clears it up. Thanks.
Nice video. đ
Very helpful as I lost my manual and have had it in storage for a long time. Wanting to view my mini dv tapes so trying to figure out how to connect to a newer TV modelâŠ
Youâll have to get an av to hdmi converter like this one and also find a compatible av cable if you do not have the original amzn.to/461r9JF
@@brandoncameracollection VERY helpful! Thank you! Obviously donât have the three prong rca on the camcorder. Itâs a single female plug like a speakerphone.
@rjoehidalgo yes if I remember right itâs a specific plug in
Can I use nail polish remover instead of rubbing alcohol?
No definitely donât use nail polish remover. Just try to use as close to 100% isopropyl alcohol as possible. Iâve been using 91% and itâs worked ok. You can also use windex but only on the rubber roller. Rubbing alcohol can make that rubber roller dry out and crack. I havenât had it happen but Iâve heard it does.
I was watching old home videos yesterday. I turned it off and left everything hooked up. I went to turn it on today to pick up where I left off and the camcorder won't play. Any suggestions?
The play button wonât work now?
sick clips
Thank you đ đ
On the gl1 which cables do u plug into the camera?
Either the av or s-video cable
@@brandoncameracollection thanks bossman your vids have been a huge help they finally restocked the powerplay, idk why my ion isnât reading my camera, but Iâm just gonna hold off till the powerplay comes in. Much appreciated
@kevinjevin1508 do you have the ion video 2 SD?
@@brandoncameracollection itâs the ion video 2 pc I got it really cheap off eBay and it says something about the disc not being supported after I download the software. I had to use some old laptop because mine doesnât have CD player not really sure why, but the power play is coming in today very hyped for it.
I think they learned it from JVC because JVC had this form factor since 1996. Said to be the first consumer DV camcorder. I have a DV Handycam in this form factor. I don't remember the model name but I think was released to market in 2002.
Yeah I heard that too. I thought the Sony vx700 was the first consumer mini DV camcorder because it was supposed to be the consumer version of the vx1000 and they came out in 1995
going to mount my 58mm mount opteka lens via adapter. i want to film skateboarding with it though. will it physically not be able to mount even with the adapter?
I donât think it will. Iâm pretty sure I tried it with my 58mm and it didnât work. But the 37mm I have worked. So I recommend getting a 37mm or a 43mm. Those are the same sized fisheye just different sized threads. And since they are smaller than the 58mm you will have a much wider field of view. Since this camera has a 49mm lens thread if you put a bigger fisheye on it will look more like a wide angle than a fisheye. That was a bit of a ramble but hopefully that made sense haha đ www.ebay.com/itm/296491819775?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ufmp3m6wrmi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ufmp3m6wrmi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Does your Sony Camcorder also have the feature to take videos one frame at a time? I used that feature to make stop/motion videos.........
I know you can take pictures to the tape. Which is pretty much like a screenshot
This is cool that people still own these old electronics! Just a month ago I found my camcorder, looks identical to yours but it's a CCD-TRV57....I think I got it in 2001 or 2002. It didn't work right until I just left it plugged in for a few hours, then it started functioning normally. They were pretty cool devices, except the quality of the video they record doesn't look so hot on new HD TVs!!
Yeah the Sony trv camcorders that end in 7 all seem to be almost the same cameras. Not sure why they did that. But yeah hi8 definitely doesnât look as good as modern cameras. But hi8 and mini dv seems to be the most popular âretroâ formats at the moment. But the old video look is what makes them so fun to use. You may be able to mimic the look but you canât mimic the experience of filming with a retro camcorderđ
I have one and it is just black why is that?
Is the screen just black when you turn it on?
@@brandoncameracollection Yes,I have tried every thing, I am trying to make a found footage video.
Ok and can you see icons on the screen? Can you still access the menu and all that?
@@brandoncameracollection I think it was just broken because itâs had a history of being broken, so I bought a relatively new one and it works great, but can I ask some advice on getting the videos form the camcorder to my computer?
@HUD_SPUD yeah I had problems trying to transfer video to my computer as well. You should be able to connect it through USB 2.0 but my computer didnât like it
I appreciate the video. I would recommend those wanting to capture their footage not to use S-Video and use the firewire port. Firewire captures all the digital information while svideo is analog. Also if you have a vhs /dvd combo do not use that cheap alibaba hdmi to usb capture device. The quality is not great, use the hdmi from your dvd player and hdmi capture card. Thats only if you want the best quality, otherwise if quality doesn't matter this method is perfectly fine.
I'm running into an issue with not this product but it's the Clearclick video 2 Digital 2.0. I have a PV-D209 (which only has an AV out) and every tape I try to convert has this jerky/glitchy effect when I try to convert it to HDMI. It runs fine on the camcorder playback but when I try to rip it it's all glitchy. Any suggestions? Love the channel by the way!
Yeah thatâs weird Iâve had that happen with the clearclick 3.0 but not the 2.0 but Iâm thinking they just have issues with certain camcorders. But I have yet to figure that one out. Maybe shoot clearclick an email about the issue. They are usually really good about helping out with problems.
I have a DR60, is it the same with the MRC1 in terms of going tapeless?
As long as it has 4 pin FireWire port yes
Hello, just bought it today! Just want to know where to check battery capacity? Anyone can help?
It should show on screen. Make sure the display is turned on
I have the card and all the accessories but I have the model with the yellow orangery color viewfinder, handycam station and the compatible computer to DV cameras... đđđđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
