Many THANKS for all your Kind Thoughts -- I am getting my appetite back now and feel better after a Hair Cut and Shave - and YES -- walked out after Hair Cut to the Pond and was testing some Polypan Film kindly sent to me by Roger Lowe of Isle of Wight --keeps me alive all my Oncologiosts and Surgeons have said so The Grim Reaper is not coming for me yet !
Ahappy new year to you Peter, keep going, love to see your videos, your a true inspiration of not letting age or health problems stop you doing what you love, take care and look forward to your next video
Good onya Pete, keeping the NHS busy single handedly over Christmas....blimey mate you must be made of the good stuff I wouldn't hang around in Basildon whether I was crook or not. Lovely to see you back online cobber x
Sorry to hear of your spell in hospital Peter - wishing you full recovery over the coming weeks. Your informative and friendly videos are always a pleasure to view, Thank You.
Great to see you back Peter. My own dad took a chest infection then pneumonia on his birthday 21st December and was in hospital. Was sent home due to covid in the hospital but got worse and was in hospital over the new year. So I know how much it sucks. Keeping active in our hobbies really helps. Look forward to seeing what photography shenanigans you get up to this year
I watch your lessons and stories so was concerned about your lack of presence recently. Nice to see you back. Take care for yourself there so much to tell about photography!
Welcome back Peter and happy new year! Sorry to hear of your health issues, hope you feel a lot better soon and get about with your cameras! Take care until the next video! :D
Glad to hear you're on the mend Peter. Thanks for sharing this. Been to Kew for the lights a few times, always tricky to shoot. If only I had your know how beforehand!
Hi Peter, I’m always amazed at your enthusiasm for photography, especially at your age and with your health issues. The night images were excellent, I remember thinking 8 megapixel was the ultimate. I hope you health improves and you take many new Pictures in the new year.❤
Both spot metering and exp. compensation are the great tools to get the desired result! It's REALLY nice to get the new video from you, Mr Elgar. Get well!
Excellent work Peter. Thanks for taking the time to bring us your tips from a seasoned pro. The prints look great. Wishing you all the best with your health this year. We look forward to your new videos. You’re a inspiration to us all!
Thanks Peter, glad you’re back! 85!? You look great! Was going through the holiday photos of this year’s gatherings and noticed the same issues you brought up with night shooting. Not as easy as it looks even with all the automation. Take care, my friend and keep shooting. Always look forward to your viddies!

I wish you a happy new year Peter! That Kodak Ccd sensor renders colors beautifully. I almost won this e500 on e-bay but there was a guy who wanted it more obviously.
Happy New Year Peter and I hope you have better health in 2023😊. Thanks for this video I learned something new about taking Christmas lights pictures- never thought of using exposure comp. Mind you I mostly just do fairy lights and ICM on the photos. Something still to bear in mind though
Glad to hear you all ok happy new year. I been to Q Gardens many times but the Christmas lights display is amazing with the water fountains and the projections onto the spray.
Thanks for another great video Peter, sorry to hear that you haven't been well but glad that you are feeling better now. There are some lovely shots of the lights there. What sort of shutter speeds and aperture were you using?
Nice to see you Mr. Elgar. I was wondering if you were o.k.. What happened to the "Buy me a Coffee" spot on your videos, I'd like to buy you a Coffee or two and thank you for making exposure compensation a little more clear to me. I enjoy your videos!!

I forgot to put the Link to Buy Me a Coffee / film -- not quite back to 'Old Self' Here it is :
www.buymeacoffee.com/pentaxpete
I prefer longer exposures & pushing ASA with film.
What's the purpose of this device?
Bought a weston master 2 universal exposure meter for a dollar at a garage sale
