I love Steffi and Martina Navratilova. But Seles gives me goosebumps. She caused me to stay put in front of TV. Her intensity to finish off a match is second to none.

This was a year that forced the great champions to recognize that it was time to walk away- they desired more time at the top but heck how do you know it’s over until any doubt about the end is clear . You haven’t had enough until you’ve had enough. Martina and Jimmy reached end of the road when capturing that chance to win a slam again . Martina would say her good- bye at Wimbledon in 94 almost beating Martinez for a tenth title . Jimmy having that 91 run is better than his 5 open titles combined. At 39 reaching the semis when he had not reached Sf in a slam in 6 years . He got a taste of the top another time and we were happier for him than perhaps he was . That day we all felt like we had hope to conquer once again .

Germany really showed poor justice system by a man who intentionally stabbed her and ruined her career never having to go to jail.

I enjoyed watch Monica Seles played and if it wasn't for the incident, I don't think Graff would have won that many grand slams. Remember, Seles was very young and beating Graff multiple times at a very young age. I like both Graff and Seles but Monica I enjoyed her competitiveness and power on the court. She achieved so much at a very early age and we all tennis fans got robbed after the incident to see how much more she could have achieved.

The women's event was such a let down. Capriati and Navratilova barely showed up. Graf was recovering from a shoulder injury and looked like she didn't really want to be there - she made 49 unforced errors (!!) in her quarterfinal loss to Sanchez Vicario. Sabatini was coming off a long lay off and looked lost. Seles never played well the entire fortnight and was badly affected by a nasty cold. Arantxa Sanchez Vicario played an awful, confused match in the final and made 43 (!!) unforced errors in a short match. Such a contrast with the 1991 event.

Note that Sarah Gomer played with one of the unusual "Mad-Raq" racquets that were around in the late 80s and early 90s. They had a patented snow shoe style string pattern which was said to reduce vibration and increase spin and control. They never really took off.

Sarah Gomer was perhaps most in demand on the tour as a practice partner. Being a left handed serve volleyer with a reasonably big serve, many players (notably Chris Evert) would practice with her before they played Martina Navratilova.

She was a treat to watch as was her dad in the stands. Despite everything....she remained happy and upbeat even in the most difficult of times. She was a great player....too bad that asshole took it all away.

Monica was such a sweet person and what a terrible tragedy it was that happened to her. I got to meet her when she was about 17 and playing at the Eckerd Open here in Tampa Bay. So nice and unassuming.

The following three where for the best during that time Steffi Graf, Gabrielle Sabatini and Monica Seles all three did great achieved .

I am just now catching up with the incidence. My conjecture was that first, the stabber must be a hired attacker aside from having reported as a fanatic fan of Steffi Graf. Who in the world had the ulterior motive to not only hurt but wanting Monica Seles' demise? My first guess was Steffi Graff's father. Why I say this? Graf's father had a wicked character: (1) he mismanaged Steffi's finances (2) he evaded paying taxes out of Steffi's earnings. (3) he had engaged with a prostitute and he was paying huge amount to cover up his sexual illicit and immoral lifestyle (3) he had to protect his cash cow (Steffi). Other thought I had was: the attacker was let free and was not put in jail--only put him under probation, and therefore, it must be a government doing or the crime was something political. Monica Seles said that the attacker tried to stab her twice; this was an evidence that the intent was deliberate -- purposeful; the attacker was not jailed -- think about it!

If you take Seles and Sampras(in their prime) and drop them into any era of tennis, they would both dominate. That is a fact. Most major titles doesn’t make anyone GOAT.

If she wouldn t have been stabbed she would have been the GOAT and all of you know that but you re too frustrated because you re not her fans😘
