I would turn the last section of the tour into a second apartment separate from the main house like the in-law apartment beneath it. Although because it has the stairs, it'd probably be more appropriate for a college-aged family member or as a guest quarters. I'd start by sectioning off the area from the top floor by adding a door by the linen closet in the hallway. The wall between the two smaller rooms would get knocked down, with the countertop area being repurposed into a kitchenette (a mini fridge would naturally fit in the open space beneath the counter) and the area off to the right being a small dining area. The open room at the end of the hall makes a great living room space, and of course you have the bedroom and bathroom.

Sadly, most homes are built this way nowadays. I don't mind some open concept so long as there are defined separate spaces for people to abscond to, that aren't bedrooms, should the need arise.

I'd finish that tall basement room as a spectacular baronial library with two stories of bookcases most of the way around three sides of the room. The full height bookcases (no base cabinets) would start where the front wall to the right of the window wall steps back about two feet, extending around the front corner then across the full length of the long blank wall, finally turning the rear corner to end where the rear wall steps back out again, about two feet to the left of the exterior door. The bookcases would all have dust-tight glass doors. There'd be a 28" mezzanine balcony for access all along the upper level of bookcases, with an elaborate cast iron spiral stairway leading up the balcony in each corner of the long wall. From the balcony, probably where the interior window is now, a section of hidden "secret panel" bookcase would open into the the main basement landing/lobby on the upper level. The tall recessed niche between the two sections of window wall would be filled with an all masonry chimney, featuring a 60" Rumford fireplace with a load bearing cut stone lintel above it, and the entire chimney breast would be faced with dry laid real fieldstone. All but 36" (for access from stairs to library) of the space at the bottom of the stairs would be used for an insulated and passively cooled vaulted masonry wine cellar, with antique brick veneer interior and barrel vaulted ceiling. Above the masonry wine cellar and supported by it would be an armored reinforced concrete fire vault fitted out as firearm storage. Access to that vault would be from the library mezzanine through a second hidden "secret panel" bookcase. All woodwork throughout the room would be quartersawn oak. The walls would be finished with raised paneling while the ceiling would be lavishly and deeply coffered to match. I have thousands of books and never enough space for them all. As long as we're dreaming, might as splurge on a magnificent library that would probably cost well into the upper six figures.

Though nowhere near its grandness, this home reminds me of the 70s split level I grew up in. I love a split level home. It really breaks up the stairs you need to climb and I don't know why we don't see more of them. The plot is incredible. I personally have no desire to do the upkeep for a pool, so I'd probably build out a bit of it for outdoor living and let the dogs have the rest. The home interior style is not so much my jam. I can't even figure out what it is. Floor plan is amazing.

At this price point the kitchen could have been larger especially for a home that is considered multi-family/generational. A much larger pantry as I envision the kitchen being the main hub.

What would you have added to the kitchen?

@@TerenceRichardsonTours I would have the kitchen in the back this way there would be a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor coking and dining area definitely a larger pantry double islands appliances are on point, so no changes needed there it would be my dream to have a multi generational home like that I can picture my kids grandma and mom in the kitchen cooking.

@@mtchar9312 I like it. I think we'll see more multi-gen houses being built in the future as the boomer generation gets older and older. It just makes sense for families to come together.

    That’s not a basement
that’s just part of the house
a basement can’t be entered from outside the house

It's a walk-out basement. The space is below-grade on the front of the house.

Beautiful home, but the location is a big no-no!

I am not sure I would want the outdoor kitchen so close to the primary suite. But, I ❀ the steam room in the primary bathroom. Great tour

I would use the extra space in laundry for suitcases. Easy to load and unload clothes in and out of suitcases . The flex space for computer desks fir homework. Basement for games, pool tables

I don’t like the Cheap wrought Iron Railings.

It's such a big house, the railings are a bit on the lean side. Something with more substance would have been better suited.

Love💙 most of this home... 😖They could take out that green turf on the balconies... The garage see through windows, needs to be frosted... 😜đŸ€Ș😝I need my privacy... đŸ€”I don't really care for the front shape of the home, but theđŸ„° inside is so gorgeous that could be acceptable... Thanks for sharing 😇

đŸ„°Another beautiful home!!! đŸ€”The basement glass door area would be a small library/ office area or an elegant looking pantry... 😖Absolutely not a cigars/cigarettes room... 😇Only healthy life extending habits in this home...

đŸ€—I like this home and the openness... I would just want them to finish the basement before move in day... Also I would use the upstairs double room as a recreational room/ workout room since there's no real closet for that room...

Love the house...and ur right...E.Cobb is pricey land. Wish they had put the pool in at that price, but that home is nice for the price. Id use the 2nd fridge in the pantry for Healthy Juices and healthy food items...only.
