We built a Pondless Waterfall in our flat backyard. This video covers the steps we took to make it happen. It was a massive undertaking and definitely not a simple DIY project. But if you’re thinking of building one yourself, we hope this might be of some help and offer some tips and insights into what we learned along the way. In many ways it is a warning video on what not to do. So to help yo...
Smart Multi-Zone Drip Irrigation in 3 steps

In this video we will try to breakdown how we installed a multi-zone smart drip irrigation system in our backyard, dividing the process into 3 steps to hopefully make it easier to follow. We went with an in-line install that taps into our house’s main water line, but if you’re planning to setup a system that stems from a hose bib in your garden or yard, most of the same basic principles will st...
DIY Garage Storage Shelves | Shed Shelves: Strong, Easy and Cheap

There’s a ton of storage shelves plans out there for your garage, workshop or shed that rely solely on screws to hold up the shelves, but we’re going to be packing these shelving units with some heavy tools and equipment so we came up with a robust, heavy duty build that will stand the test of time and did NOT break the bank. The Jack studs supporting your shelf frames are smart. The shelf frames themselves I see can be rearranged later to different height configurations by merely resizing the Jack stud lengths (just use screws in lieu of glue for that option). Heavy duty. Adaptable. Nice 👍

    I think this is a heavy duty shelf and is overkill for what most people will use it for which is just very lightweight stuff. You'll want to use less wood and make the whole thing small so that it is easy to move around when you need to relocate things.

    • @40Figs
      @40Figs Před 16 dny

      That’s a tough one. We also have a section of our yard with a shorter fence and have been debating what to do but I think we’re not gonna go all the way up to 6ft on those shorter sections just because it feels a little heavy for the structure and we’re worried it might sag over time. You might be okay depending on how high yours is, but ours is only 4ft tall and the extra two feet floating without support feels a little risky. Best of luck on your project! 9 “I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; 10 A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened. 11 “I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame. 12 As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. 13 “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:9-14 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (YHVH, El Shaddai, Adonai, God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham). John 3:10-18

    Lifesaver I didn't even think anything close to doing this! I have chainlink that's sturdy trees have grown through & it still stands. I want privacy fencing in the back & a little on one side as tall as our zoning allows so the dog doesn't even attempt a jump chasing after whatever he sees & people can't just hop over attempting to steal him. The chainlink was partially removed by a previous owner at some point & new fencing would have to be put up to enclose the entirety of the yard, but do you think the one side can at least be done like this & attach okay to new fencing placed the regular way? The chainlink is the short typical back yard type you see that's what 4ft tall? Would taller wood still be able to be attached at the bottom & middle & then freestand on the horizontal boards that would be attached to the new woodposts? Appreciate your video & insight. :)

    • @40Figs
      @40Figs Před měsícem

      That's a great question! We have a portion of fencing at the side of our property that also has a shorter fence and we've been brainstorming how to tackle that section too. In our case, it looks like it's not high enough to cover with wood all the way up so we will mostly likely just follow the height of the chainlink that is already there for those shorter areas. It might be a little risky to have large sections unsupported if you're only relying on the 2x4 lumber to hold it up, but if the span isn't to long, you might be able to get away with it. We'll try to post a new video on the shorter part of our yard where we'll be tackling a similar issue to the one you're in...hopefully that will be of some help! Best of luck and thanks for watching!
