Why is it essential to add your oil to glass instead of plastic when adding water?

Love the stories! We just finished our longest RV trip, about 2800 miles from Seattle to San Diego and back. 27 foot Class C, towing a Honda Fit so maybe 40 foot total. For our fueling needs, we generally look for Costcos. Trouble is, as you say they are generally in city areas so sometime we were in very tight turns. But they'll usually have both diesel and gas; and for the most part they are fairly maneuverable. Hot dogs and ice cream too! Google Maps was my best friend; I'm a planner like you and would calculate where we'd stop so as to not get below 1/4 tank. We also had at least one roadside stop at some random ARCO that we took a look and said "nope" and just kept going. We had a lot of fun and definitely a lot of learning. Thanks for your channel!

I am about to buy a very small RV trailer that I may have to repair its front cap and front portions of the sides that adjoin to the front cap. The exterior skin is delaminating like this and has bubbles. I'm thinking of buying 2' by 10' corrugated metal from a hardware store and bolting them thru the front every 16" or so. Then on the seams I'm going to cover them and the bolt heads with white EDPM "eternabond" tape. Will this work as a permanent fix if done meticulously?

As you install the metal on the sides, that is also supposed to be tack stapled. They only hold the metal until you put the cap rail on. I am impressed that the cap rail conformed to that major curve without the tool they make to bend j-rail. Nice repair overall. Where did you get your metal? I’m on the East coast and so far can’t find a local camper/metal supplier.

I think you experienced problems fitting the panel in because the screws were there, so my comment was dead on. I’m not trying to be critical but we all learn from each other, thanks

Nice explanatory video. One thing I’d like to share to help viewers. On the seam you mentioned screwing it, you are supposed to staple it on. I’m not trying to be a know it all, but have been taking a vintage trailer restoration class and rebuilding a 1967 Trailblazer. There’s barely room for staples, but it may still work, but hoping they don’t rub through the top metal. Excellent video regardless

That’s quite a brave repair to undertake. I would like to advise that since you made this video, the pieces of wood that you refer to as “he,him and or guys” have filed a gender identity grievance with the National Forestry Association. They haven’t specified as to what their pronouns are but wish to reserve their right to identify at a later date.

I'd recommend applying the butyl tape to the backside of the trim. Then you pull the paper as you bend and fasten the trim in place.

I’m a trucker and at my loves they have a RV only pump site. It’s super convenient.

Interested in learning how you started the process with the top cap? How did you secure it to the roof?

I think that drop of oil will not fully mix in water and there will be a tiny amount of if floating on top of water 🤔

In February 1865 Gambles Battery, Florida Light Artillery was ordered to Camp Sumter and upon arrival to turn their horses and mules over to the cavalry. They were then to remain as guards at the camp until further ordered. My great, great grandfather, Absolum R. Sutlej was a member of this battery. He served there until his death on April 9th, 1865 when he died of “brain fever”. He was buried in grave 85 until the family had his remains moved to his home town of Marianna Fl. in 1885.

This was made when DeSmet was still in good shape. It is more run down now. A lot of the businesses are closed that you see here, and the buildings have decayed. The family locations need upkeep and painting.

Looks like a hack job. Lets drill more holes in the side of a camper that can cause spots for more water to get into it. Then the rust spots from bolts. No wonder you sold it right after you half ass fixed it

anyone doing this kind of repair, you would be better off replacing the insulation with ridgid R-max foam board it won't hold Moisture.

Custer, besides being a moron and full of hubris, was betrayed by Indian agents who gave the Indians Henry repeating rifles that could shoot 13 shots rapidly while Custer's troops had single shot Springfield rifles. Indians could shoot their 13 shots in a minute while the troopers could only get off 4 shots. Bottom line: Custer was simply OUTGUNNED....!
