"It's a really short trip, only about 2-1/2 weeks". Ha! I totally LOL there. I'm happy with a long weekend trip, and a week long vacation is a lifetime. Still, I understand your point about being truly waterfront and not needing to setup and tear down... plus the drive

When my late wife and I went to Kauai Hawaii, we obviously left our RV on the mainland, but we could have rented a Class C, but opted instead to rent a condo. We were really glad we did. We enjoyed the lanai almost every morning for breakfast, the provided grill for fixing dinner, the fire pit for bonfires, and the full kitchen. A creek ran through the property, out onto the beach, and into the Pacific. I wanted to go for renting the Class C but I was glad I gave in and went the condo route she wanted! I am glad you got to go the condo route when the situation called for it!! Have a great time!!!

Welcome back to Alabama! What you said made such good sense. Long before I was part of my hubby's family, his future brother in law was in the Air Force.( My hubby's family have had houses at the Gulf since 1931) Anyway. one afternoon my hubby's dad was taking a nap and the future brother in law buzzed the house in his jet. Only a few hundred feet above the house. Shook the windows and about scared my future father in law half to death. Not sure you could get away with that now days, but the stories my hubby has from growing up in Mobile and always having a house at the gulf are endless and so funny.

Years ago I did a cost comparison driving from Alaska to the PNW between our Prius/hotel/restaurant and the RV (cheap campgrounds and no restaurants). It crossovers point was ~250 miles. More than that, the car was cheaper. Less than that, the 5th wheel RV. But the time difference is a big deal. On a two week trip, you’d spend almost half your time traveling which is fine if traveling is the goal. We will probably just leave the RV in a storage lot when we need to go back home for a bit. This last summer, we brought the RV to the PNW with 11 days of travel. Then left it there. In September, we drove down to pick it up. Only 4 days of travel but the whole hotel thing is a hassle. Not having suitcases with the RV is great but only if you have the time.
    A great video topic.

RVing is amazing however, sometimes you just don't want the work when your time is brief. We totally get it.....we've done the same.
Love the beach, and totally niss it!

I live at the Gulf in Alabama. Those powder sand beaches and the blue angels are the best.

did you get sunburned on your nose. And are you sure it was the Blue Angels? that Jet flew like an Air Force Jet. Can you tell I was in the Air Force. The F15 from Langley Air Force base always did a mini air show on Friday just like that one.

Sounds like wisdom. As long as you have a home base. Besides waking up to that pretty Face makes it all worth it.
