    YO! I play doom eternal on 1440p with 12700k and 3080 rog strix, I play on 250 fps cuz that game basically allows you to do things u normally could not do on 144/165 fps or less. My gpu stays on 70-80 percent cuz I play with dlss ON (performance mode) but my cpu stays on 65-70 % sometimes, it is normally on 40-50% but I play with tons of mods and there are so many demons and action on the screen that my cpu reaches 70% usage sometimes, would you say this is a cpu bottleneck?

    Such a massive nostalgia trip. My dad was always a bit of a tech geek but we weren't minted. I remember persuading him to buy me a 6800 GT in the end, after trying and failing to negotiate a 6800 Ultra out of him. Also remember spending hours and hours on the Nalu, Timbury, and Clear Sailing demos. The Nalu demo was especially insane, couldn't believe it was running on my PC! Ah... those were the days.... I could go on for hours.

    If you're getting more or less the same performance for significantly less power then I'd call that a win, no? Also as you say, the 0.1% lows were much better in a lot of your tests, which is arguably more important than getting an extra 10-20fps (especially when you're already well over 100fps!). That translates to fewer "stutters" and thus a smoother gameplay experience overall.

    My 5600X3D/6700XT build beats a 5600X/4090 build in some games at the same settings. It's 4-5 fps slower than a 5800X/4090 build in Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p medium, 222 vs 218 fps. No regrets at all.

    I have a 4090 paired with the 5800x3d. I think it is fantastic combo. I can play anything at max settings native resolution of 1440p on an 34 inch ultra wide monitor, with zero upscaling. I capped my FPS at the monitor’s max refresh rate of 144hz. The only game I have to use upscaling is Cyberpunk. With that game, and full path tracing enabled, I peg the 144hz cap all day long. The 5800x3d is a very capable CPU, paired with the 4090.

    I went from a 5600x w/ a 6700XT to a 5900x and noticed next to no improvement in the FPS drops I would get in BF4. I then bought a 6900XT better but still these dips. Wasn't till I found a open box 5800X3D that I noticed a good improvement in my 1% lows. I then sold it a few weeks later for an excellent combo price and bought a 7600X/X670 combo for the same price.

    EA WRC 1440p max settings = 65fps. 80fps with "car reflections" set to low. 150 fps with absolute minimum settings and DLSS ultra performance. Even WRC 10 i have to turn down graphics to get 200 fps (which seems to be the cap in this game). I got something like 380 fps average in Assetto Corsa benchmark (max settings), and in Assetto Corsa Competizione i get between 200 and 240 fps without DLSS and otherwise pretty good (not ultra) settings.

You will get mostly 70-75 % GPU usage,so if that's not cpu bottleneck...😅 5700X undervolted at 4800-4900 mhz core will do wonders in comparison with only hexacord 5600X that becomes obsolete in heavy cpu multiplayer games.

    It's funny that Nvidia change the name of their lineup from GTX to RTX because of "hardware RT" support, and yet you still need beefy CPU for "playable" RT rendering (without DLSS). This tells me that RTX cards or the built in hardware for RT functionality, is really of a RT "assist" because if it was full RT processing, you shouldn't need a decent CPU. Remember the MPEG 2 days, when you needed an addon card to play DVD, and you only needed a Pentium 200mmx to play DVD with the addon card. That's true hardware add on right there.

    Hey man, I’m really confused whether to get one of two different laptops. I will list the specs below and I’d really appreciate it if you can give me your opinion on which I should get: Zephyrus g14: 14” display. OLED 3K 120 Hz Ryzen 9 8945HS 32 GB RAM GeForce RTX 4070 1 TB SSD Zephyrus G16: 16” display. OLED 2.5K 240 Hz Intel Core Ultra 9 16 GB RAM GeForce RTX 4070 1 TB SSD Please keep in mind that the ram in these laptops is soldered in so I don’t have the option to upgrade it later on. What I really want is the G16. I really want the larger display (since it’ll be the only display I’ll have) and the dark grey color it comes in (unlike the g14 which only comes in a white color). It also has a higher refresh rate, and a better CPU. Everything about it is better…except for the ram. I’m worried that I’ll face problems with the RAM in the long run since I’m planning on keeping this laptop for atleast 5 years. I’m getting this for some gaming (mainly games such as COD, GTA, and some others) in addition to school work (which won’t be demanding). I like everything about the G16 more except for obviously the ram. Do you think this difference in ram is worth me choosing the g14 instead?

    I don't buy top end GPU's, haven't since the 980Ti. That cost me £580 (trade price, I got a deal) and just five months later, Nvidias website said that they no longer optmize for my card beyond "critical fixes and updates". So I gave up on Nvidia AND on buying top end GPU's. I currently have a Ryzen 2600 and a 5700XT. After a lot of benchmark reading etc, settled on an upgrade path of a 7800XT and a 5600X3D or 5700X3D. I play at 1440p on a 42" LG OLED TV and I mostly play older games. Newer games I can drop to 1080p on the 5700XT, but I don't see a problem there with a 7800XT. I upgrade economically, best value I can find for what I need.

    In theory, and in numbers, it doesnt make a lot of diference, but in real world feeling it does make a diference going 8 cores with a lot of cache (5700x3d, 5800x3d). I can say this because i've upgraded from a 5600 to a 5700x3d due to a second-hand deal, and i'm realy happy. Cyberpunk is night and day, the last of us aswell. Not sure if it's the extra 2cores/4threads or the extra cache, but i'm realy happy with my € 70 extra investment (from selling one and buying other second hand).

  • @adomingues00
    @adomingues00 Před 22 dny

    RAM is not just quantity. It's a mix between the CPU cache quantity, the quantity of ram, the type of memory (DDR3, DDR4, DDR5) and platform, and speed timmings of it. I've noticed a few games that were having some slight micro stutterings with 16GB DDR4 3600mhz CL18, and my 5600x, but when i got my 5700x3d with more cache (and my memory finaly works at CL16-16-16), that stuttering is all gone in all games i've tested. So it's not just quantity... for example if you go from a 16gb 3600CL16-16-16 to a 32gb 18-19-19 with a 5600x, you are probably having less performance, not an upgrade...
