Cyberpunk 2077 1.63 vs 2.0 - Direct FPS Comparison

- Now that Cyberpunk 2077 has been patched to version 2.0 we do some direct comparisons between the prior versions (1.63) and the 2.0 patch to see how our frames per second look after the update.
All benchmarking was done at 1440p, using OBS on the same machine to capture the footage, using the NVENC encoder on my GPU. So a small performance hit will come from this, albeit nowhere near as much had I had my CPU doing the encoding. Though, as this was the case for my 1.63 and 2.0 benchmark runs, I believe the data to be solid for comparison, even if it may differ from what you may get on a similar build without running OBS for recording purposes.

I’m not sure I said a 3070 was mid to low. Didn’t catch it in the edit, I’d say it’s fair to call it a mid tier card these days, but not low. Spoiler: I’m a bit silly sometimes 🙃
i really wouldn't consider a 3070 a mid to low tier card lmao, especially for cyberpunk,you can still get 2 years of 1080p high gaming with that
1440 is a struggle ngl
Compared to what’s out there now I’d call it mid. Especially at higher resolutions than 1080p
It's mid tier for sure. Low? Absolutely not
Yeah I fear im going to live to regret uttering the word low 😅
keep it up i subbed brother i wish you all the luck
Good vid bro keep it up
Appreciate it
Letting DLSS Auto "do its thing" isn't all that interesting. Auto just means that it automatically chooses a DLSS mode depending on the output resolution:
2160p -> Performance
1440p -> Balanced
1080p -> Quality
That's all the Auto setting does. I wish it adjusted more intelligently than that.
I was thinking it is some sort of adaptive mode, where it chooses between presets depending on performance. If it works the way you describe, it's kind of a bummer
Didn’t realise that, thanks for sharing!
one shud nvr go beyond dlss quality mode at ny resolution .
ty for vid liked and subbed
Thank you! Firm handshakes 🤝
Using a 2070 overclocked (about even with a 2070 super) w ith DLSS on Auto, I get 60 fps 1440p, High settings, RT off. Looks Incredible
That's weird, i get pretty much identical fps to before.
Yeah same
3070 would be considered high-end 4 years ago and now it's "mid-low" XD
I really shouldn’t have included the “low” in hindsight, but I maintain it’s a mid tier card at this point. Albeit a good one!
Why do I get 23 FPS on overdrive with a 2060 tho 💀
Interesting!

@@ELEC7RO never sell that card 😅
That rig is mid/high range build. CPU is ok, GPU is great and RAM you have a lot and it's fast. Plus you've probably installed the game on SSD. I have ryzen 5 1500x, rx 5500xt 8gb, 12gb of ram at 1666mhz and game is installed on HDD... Still run the game at a consistent 60fps, but with everything on low, only textures are on high :/
Yeah I really shouldn’t have said mid to low. Haha! My comments are lighting up over that 😅
this is not accurate at all use the benchmark option in the game instead.
The data itself is accurate, did multiple runs to check for any discrepancies. It might not be the data you want, but it’s not inaccurate. I’ll keep your feedback in mind for future games which have built in benchmarks. Cheers.
@@davidnott_ there is a part of the video where there is a crowd lots of cars and the other one on the left doesn't look at the cpu usage its alot higher because of the crowd but its true that the 1.63 performs better but i am just saying the accurate way of doing this and thanks for the comparison
No problem. Appreciate the feedback.
that not mid to low range build but ok
Yeah I’ll accept that maybe low was a stretch. But I’d say it’s mid for sure compared to what’s out there now. Especially when I play flight sim, I’m delighted to get above 30 😅
Calling 3070 a mid to low tier build is one reason why people ain't subscribing.
Not genuine at all.
Probably shouldn’t have said low, honestly not sure why I did. But I maintain it’s a mid tier card these days. There’s a lot above it.
@@davidnott_ It's mid tier even in terms of raw power...
But should probably take a look at Steam Hardware Survey and take that into account too.
@@felisasininus1784 that’s more about popularity though right? I was talking in terms of raw power.
@@davidnott_ Some would take into consideration how many people are using which cards... Developers actually also do that if they don't want to piss off consumers.
But the whole thing isn't exactly an precise science... Fair enough I guess.
@@felisasininus1784 you can please some of the people, some of the time. Its a shame you thought I was being disingenuous, wasn’t my intent
mid low okay dude
lol yeah I really shouldn’t have said that. I maintain it’s mid though, especially with what’s out there these days
