Nice video mate! If I were to have this same flight using SWA then AA and I have baggage to check in, I'd have to claim my bags in LAX and recheck them at the AA baggage counter? Sad about the second meal prior to arrival into LHR a hot bagel and yogurt would have been a way better meal than what was served. So sad AA.

The 6-passenger compartments were pretty much standard through the 70's, so it was always a fun family trip. My mother and sister are originally from Braunschweig, but moved to the States in the late 50's. We spent many years since then traveling back to see family. We happened to make a final trip to Germany with mom in 2017. I spent hours trying to book compartment seating, and it paid off, as we made the rail trip from München to Braunschweig in a 1st class 6-person compartment. At the time I knew that it was probably the last time I would ride with mom, and I was right. We lost mom several years ago, but thanks to your video, I can keep some of those memories alive! One of my DB rail traditions is to always order an "Apfelschorle" (apple spritzer beverage) while on board. Once or twice a year, when I'm feeling nostalgic, I'll make myself the same drink at home and try to imagine I'm back on the train. Many thanks again.

Were you flying on the 757-200 series version 1 or 2 layout? I am flying from PDX to KEF in August and want to pick a good seat in economy, so knowing which version flies between these two cities would be very helpful. It looks like layout 1 from your apparent seat just behind the wing based on your window seat view.

Thank you for this excellent video. Question: If you're in Business class on AA on that route and are sitting in a window seat and want to come out, do you have to "do a hurdle" if the aisle seat person is lying flat?

Thanks for this video. Although these cabins are getting a bit tired, I really like the three-class setup. Also, with only 102 seats these flights board quickly. The new XLRs will only have 20 lie flat seats instead of 30 so unfortunately I think getting one will become more difficult and expensive. I believe that although there were origninally 16 A321T in the fleet one of them was scrapped after an incident that damaged a wing.

Traveled WT+ from Santiago to London this 2024 and the breakfast was a warm meal! Can’t believe your second meal was just that sandwich and kitkat :/

I have flown Icelandic numerous times and love the 757. Boeing is stupid for not continuing production of them. One thing that I miss about Icelandic was their meal services on all Economy flights. Flew to Stockholm in 2001 from Minneapolis and had wonderful meal service. That is gone on the base Econ tickets. I have also flown on numerous other airlines and Icelandair's stewardesses are gorgeous

Now all first class passengers don't get access to the lounge. Only passengers flying more than 2100 miles get access. Letting you know since your video said everyone gets access. This rule change about a year ago.

great video. Which airline were you transferring from. so they do interline with checked baggage? Did you check in a bag? What was the cost? Where they strict with the weight. How was the customer service and seat comfort from one to ten?

I am hoping for a better long-haul experience than I on my previous two long-hauls with American. Both were on 767s in 2005 and 2012. One was ORD-OGG and the other was JFK-BCN. On ORD-OGG they ran out of food you could only purchase before they even got to my row, and neither flight had IFE’s. I was on a 777-300ER for Air Canada in 2018 for YVR-YYZ and it was great. Found out yesterday we were changed from a 777-200ER to a 777-300ER like this for our JFK-FCO flight in June 2024. So maybe it will be good.

I’m amazed! Was this shot on another planet? Several questions come to mind: 1). You went through the whole terminal at SFO and there were maybe a total of 7 people in the place. They also looked rather normal. Most of the time the terminals at SFO are packed with travelers and it looks more like the Mos Isley space port from Star Wars IV ( “You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy “). How was this even remotely possible? 2). The Delta cookies on an AA flight strongly suggest that you flew through an alternate dimension. 3). I’m not sure, but I believe Mr. V scrolled right past a Top Gun movie on the infotainment screen without stopping to watch. Also not possible. If only my trips went this well, I’d gladly travel more often.

Thank you for posting this video. I’m going to be taking an Alaska E175 from Seattle to Monterey first class. My brother n law works for Alaska Airlines and suggested that I take the single first class because I’m a bit claustrophobic.

Imagine, you run a service that gives your customers access to lounges that don't yet exist in all the places served by the special 'service'. So, they then offer you a regular Admiral's Lounge. How nice! Can't make this stuff up folks. Planned insanity.

The price really makes such service stand out.

Too bad AA’s retiring this setup once the A321XLRs arrive next year. This is a unique setup almost exclusive to the Flagship transcon routes, something that really makes their premium transcon flights stand out against the competition.

American Airlines gives great service and food with pillows and blankets with nice planes clean that i have flown for first time i was impressed cause i have flown many others and they are not the same as AA 👍❤

i recently took a icelandair 757 it was a great experience!!!

I would never ever choose a North American carrier to fly these days. That inflight service was primitive. They could join hands with any U.S. carrier. Absolutely disgusting. PLUS THEY DO NOT OFFER AN INTERNATIONAL FIRST CLASS CABIN. Years ago the American airline industry was fantastic....So only Air France, Singapore, Lufthansa, British or Swiss
