I'm not even pregnant yet, but I've always thought that I'd want a c-section, because giving birth to a watermelon through that small hole is absolutely terrifying. The reason I searched for this video is because I mentioned this to my mother (she's had 3 natural births) and she pretty much shut me off instantly. She basically said that people who get a c-section (without it being an emergency) are just like... For women who only care about looks of their downstairs and such. But I disagree with her. I've heard so many horror stories of getting torn so badly, bleeding soo much etc, that I really don't want to go through it. My brother's gf had a c-section (planned) and she healed well, and overall had a positive experience. I'm not getting pregnant for another 5-8 years (I'm aroace, so I'm not getting a partner, and will use a sperm bank when I want to get pregnant) so I still have time, but I've felt like this for a LONG while

There are so many videos about c-section, but i find that women shy away from talking about the recovery period. I would like to see more raw and honest videos that tells people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.

This video has helped a lot to ease my mind. I've had two babies, both literally back to back. My son and daughter are 11 and a half months apart. Both were natural, with no epidural, with midwives. My 2nd birth especially was really hard. I hemorrhaged with both and had a 3rd degree tear with both. After the birth of my 2nd, I was diagnosed with a 2nd degree uterine and bladder prolapse. The symptoms are uncomfortable. Feeling like I have a ball falling out of me, and I can see my dropped organs when I examine myself. I'm only 28 and not old at all, as this us usually an issue seen in older women. Now pregnant with my 3rd, which was a surprise, and am going for a scheduled C-section to try to avoid worsening of my prolapse for as long as I can. I'm terrified of the thought of surgery - being awake while they're cutting me open freaks me out. But a lot of it, I'm sure has to do with mentality. Like I said, my natural birth experiences were hard, and its kind of nice to think I won't have to go through labor and delivery this time. The ring of fire is no joke! And I'm looking forward to not having to experience that again. Also not having all of that intense pushing on my organs, is relieving. I'm glad to have the options to choose between natural or medical deliveries.

Elective c-sections are very different than emergency c-sections and they should not be put in the same bucket. Emergency c-sections happen usually when something is going really wrong with the baby or the mother, after many hours or days of labour, usually there are other procedures like induction etc. The doctors have to perform an emergency life saving procedure, and it is typically a traumatic experience for women and the recovery tends to be long and painful. Elective c-sections are a completely different story, you know what to expect, when you’ll give birth, you have time to prepare - to come rested, relaxed and have a postpartum plan considering the surgery. Recovery is usually quick and the pain ia minimal if the procedure was done correctly and if pain killers are used. My sister and friends that had elective c-sections had a wonderful experience and speedy recovery … while my friends with VBAC including my mother and grandmothers had traumatic experiences with tears, use of forceps, very long and painful labours, long recovery etc. I’m totally going with an elective c-section, but who am I kidding? I’m super nervous anyway, birth and postpartum are not easy.

Thank you for this video! People do not understand the guilt you feel for making the choice to have a c-section. This video is 5 years old and I’m struggling to understand how elective c sections are still frowned upon!

I really appreciate this video. My vaginal birth with my first went horribly (from the moment I gave birth and on) and we're currently pregnant AND in the middle of moving 2 hours away from our closest family 😬. I'm wondering about doing a scheduled C-Section so 1. I can have family here so they can stay with my three year old so my husband can be with me 2. We can prepare to have family to stay for a week or more to help and 3. To avoid possible worse complications that I'm already having with my lady parts.

I just had my baby she is six weeks there was a tapper off then a start again so it seemed like i had a period. I am nursing and am going to get marina. My periods were unpredictable before the baby.

My wife has a Nuna Rava in her car and I have the Nuna Exec. in mine. One thing that they didn’t mention that was a deciding factor when I bought them is that Nuna uses a steel frame I those two models. They’re much stronger and doesn’t degrade over time like plastic car seats.

I'm pregnant with my first baby and since day one, my doctor asked me how I plan to give birth, I told him that I wanted to feel beautiful, no pain and I wanted to know the exact time and minute that the baby will be out. He smiled and told me "So we'll have a c-section, which is great because due to some of your health issues I was going to suggest that" I was so happy that my doctor was in sync with me and my wishes! My husband is super supportive as well, but I've had TONS of people saying to me that I'm making a huge mistake by having a c-section. No Karen, I'm not, it was previously discussed with my doctor and husband and this is exactly what I want. Pregnancy is a crazy ride! You don't need the comments and the judgments.

I had PTSD from my emergency c-sec/birthing experience (and still do) because almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong for example, medication starting to wear-off mid surgery - they reacted quickly though and in the end my scar was done 'perfectly' according to many examiners post surgery. However, the recovery took me long, almost 6 months to not feel sore (even after a year and a half when I got pregnant again and they did the ultra sound, it hurt). All this stress contributed to the my milk supply being low and it took me a month to build up. __ With all that being said, I'm still grateful for it. My son and I wouldn't be here without it. I just wish I had watched this video during that time to help deal with PPD because I felt less than during the time and it was one of my biggest struggle. So it's nice to see this in a different light.

Ok so I've done something similar. Ring on necklace but back and forth means boy and circle means girl. You hold ring in hand 5 seconds hold over left hand in between each one pass ring by side of hand 3xs lifting up and down. When ring stops ✋️ that's it. I use to get the same reading everytime. Boy girl girl. So far it’s right I have a boy and a girl. I am pregnant with my 3rd baby. I feel like it’s twins for many reasons and so I decided to redo the string test and it changed! It says I’m having another girl and boy! If it’s twins (boy and girl) I will laugh so hard!!!!

I'm 15-16 weeks pregnant. I have a boy and did this ring test, came out 2 circles, and stopped the 3rd try. I'll do an update when I find out! 🙂
