Yet here I am still waiting to see the actual build stupesssss step by step
Even cheap Walmart wire shelving units can hold 350 lb per shelf that's 40 gallons of water and would be way more than enough for hydroponics. (It works fine I've put two 20 gallon fish tanks on one shelf before with no issues it's close to the weight limit but almost every consumer product with a weight limit has a safety factor and this is probably something like 1.5x)
kratky method wins in simplicity and low setup and running cost! No pump, hoses, electricity.
circulation is enough. dont need to add air
air roots need space so deeper container is better
You want food grade pvc bad chemicals!
thanks for this bro dropped a like and this comment you spent good money on this and didnt have to share it but im sure this would answer alot for alot of people thanks growmie
Hoocho literally proves just about everything this guy says wrong.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful I am building a greenhouse and I'm going to do exactly what you're doing!
The results are in ppm parts per million not billion.
Great idea!
Thank you for this information. You present the information very well!
Ni e simple setup. I have my posts. I'm ordering the rest of the parts this week to make this setup. Thanks for the easy to follow tutorials.
When I was doing hydroponics outdoors, I had a lot of algae growth too and i found out that grapeseed extract would bust the algae but not harm my other plants. It was a powder supplement i got from a fitness store
Reason no. 6: Nutrients ratio and EC imbalances as the plant is growing.
What seeds e specially lettuce do you recommend and the source
How many kgs of strawberries would you say you got per plant per year?
What ec and ph are you running your system at?
What kind of fertiliser are you using for the flowers?
The reservoir totes that you are using are not food safe. 😮
is there a specific reason that the inlet tube is smaller than the connector/outlet tube? I'm in the process of sourcing parts to build this but found it will be cheaper for me to have all the tubes be 1/2" ID.... do you think there will be any issues with this? Thanks for putting together this guide, it's awesome!
Yes, the outlet needs to be larger since it is only powered by gravity and needs to keep up with the pump. The inlet has pressure from the pump.
Is it inside a grow tent? Do you shake the plants to pollinate the flowers?
Nft is shit hand down
Really nice videos you have I seen a few. Do you make your own nutrient water or use a product you bought ?
What kind of nutrients do you use?
Booooooooring yawn
What about pollination? There is none?
Hello and congrats on the great and informative videos which you have been posting. I would be curious to know (if you are willing to share) what products (chemical, beneficial bacteria, UV, ...) do you use to minimize risk of pathogens. I have an NFT using gutters; I've had a couple of decent crops, but now my plants have stunted growth, shriveled leaves, and root rot. I will increase oxygenation, add H2O2, and am wondering if I should add anything to the mix to reduce the risk of pathogens/root rot developing. Oh another thing, I've been keeping my solution for up to two months without changing. I think changing monthly is probably a good idea! Pictures available, if you'd like to see! Thanks in advance!!
Hello again, I've just watched your video 'Why I don't sterilize my hydroponic system' - which is as good an answer as any to my questions! Cheers
As someone looking to get into hydroponics, I definitely noticed the space issue. With a tower approach, you can have one reservoir feed 20 plants or more. If you use one of those square buckets you get from a big box store, at most, you're putting five plants in there. And as he said, if you want to do successive planting, you'll need a new reservoir. With a tower garden, you can plant ten items, then use the other ten to rotate new plants in.
10 sq FT ???? WTF is a kilometeeeeeer
Every single hydroponics system I see, uses plastic..plastic...PLASTIC everywhere! Has nobody heard of Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals? I don't want plastic in my food. I'll be trying to build a plastic-free one. Far more expensive, I'm sure, but I'd rather that than eat microplastics thanks...
Great job!
How did you get your roots prepared? See that they were black and once into the net pot, they are whiter. Is there a cleaning process? etc
Once the root stock wake up, they grow nice white roots out of the darker ones.
What nutrients you use?
So this is a dft system not nft, that you have plans for? I was very confused when I read the build guide and saw how the two posts were connected and there was no slope. Just got a 10x44ft greenhouse setup so plan to do some hydroponics as a test run
Hello, nice video, how do u change the level of water in your system instead of nft ?
What is the nutrient used in the mix and ppm?
Can you share the ec you are using through the different growth cycles ? Or only available in the online cours ? Thank you
Way to grow 🥬 Nice hydroponic gardening system,TFS!
This is amazing!
Hey Simple Greens! I want to thank you for your free hydroponic plans. I was wondering though- how do you clean the system? Can the end cap just pop off and be resealed with silicone again, or is there some system flush that you do to keep it clean? Thank you! I am so excited to build your system.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
What kind of Lighting do you use? What Brand? How many Watts? Thank you
how many inches do you have from the top of rails to light im having trouble trying to figure how much space my plants are going to need
12-14"
How do you pollinate?
Paintbrush
What size holes have you drilled for those pool noodles
2" holes, and the pool noodles are slightly wider than that so they fit in tight.
I was wondering if you've tried a similar system with clones from a heavy plant like Cayenne peppers that don't usually work in your two rail setup, but would still fruit bushier, shorter yields like you did with the strawberries. I'm going to try it out.
Looks very nice. Useful content. In herb's and strawberry system, also use white led light? Kindly inform please.
