  • I made a pdf guide of how to build this system here: www.simplegree...
    An overview of a simple to build "hybrid" NFT system we've been using to grow lettuce and herbs.

    You should put together a kit with the two square rails or four rails system. With all the parts included except the bucket. If you sell them, I'll be the first one to buy!!! I live in an apartment and I'm sure many people who I've in apartments don't have any of the equipment you have or required to build the system. So, if you sell the system, I'm sure a lot of people would buy!

      You could put this together in an apartment and borrow tools from a tool lending library. It's not hard It's a matter of just doing it

    Good stuff, we might try this. We just built your square rail and got our first harvest of lettuce (tell our spinach and green onions to hurry up). I also have a 3d printed vertical tower, and I've noticed the square rail grows vegetables a little quicker, even with cheaper Walmart LED shop lights. Keep up the good work. If every household in America had one of these, it would solve a countless amount of problems.

    Great work. I just started building a 4 rail system per your design. I cant wait to try it out. Thanks for all that you do!

  • @thefutureofgardening5912

    Very nice rail system sir! I'm working on a new one myself. I hope this continues to flourish for you!

    Hi there, I have a NFT system that could be used for seed propagation, it is desinged in a way where the netcup will just touch the nutrient film. The grow media will wick up enough moisture. But nevertheless, I think it's better to have a second place to germinate seeds, as the seeds don't need nutrients and will be happy in a standard propagator in a coco pellet or similar. Your system(s) looks nice, too! Very practical.

    Nice job. You can trim the roots

    Thanks for the videos! How much does a system of this size increase the humidity of the room?

    Your roots look brown... I recommend putting some Great White Premium Mycorrhizae powder into the water system.

    I'm very curious why the 2 "front" rails are NFT? Why not use your "deep water" idea for all pipes, like the square tube system?

    Thanks a lot, I'm having trouble getting my seed plugs to not be soaked in water. I'm using Jiffy-7 Peat Pellets but even 2mm of water is getting the plugs soaked. What's the difference between the seed plugs that you are using, how does yours not soak in water?

    hi, really loved the system, and I just want to try and build it myself. But there is couple question that I tried and check in all the video and website but I do not seems to find it. Let me know if I am wrong hhe, but If possible, can I ask the question here?
    I realized that the rack used here is around 18" x 48" x 72"
    two things that I am still looking and still dont get the answer are :
    1. the distance between the rails and the grow light
    2. the watt for grow light for 18" x 48", after couple videos i think around 300watt ?
    thanks a lot in advance, nice video

    im encountering an issue of rot root been twice now that 50 plants died in the system due to that idk what im doing wrong i have 6 air stones and it still happens

    such a good idea! i really like both but i'm still thinking about what happens to the filming pipe when the electricity dies. so my question is, can i make all the pipe aligned to water level and keep some water stay in the pipe to keep the life support for my plants just like your square pipe version? your previous version is still my holy grail, i just can't find the square pipe here.

      @SimpleGreensHydroponics  Před 5 měsíci

      Yeah definitely! Just seal up the end caps near the inlets really well and then make the whole system level. Should still work great 👍

    Is there a problem using a 4-inch pipe instead of 3 inches?

    • @SimpleGreensHydroponics
      @SimpleGreensHydroponics  Před rokem +1

      Not at all, except that you can only fit 2 rails in the same space

    • @ZorinInc
      @ZorinInc Před rokem

      This was my question also. I have the same wire shelves, but they're 5' long and 2' wide. A little bigger than his (I think). Also, two of these shelves put end to end, so it'll actually be 10' long. I'm thinking 4" pipe will work better to not get backed up by root mass.

  • @quietspacearts

    love this but here in UK our downpipes are expensive to buy and end caps too, is there any other way to do end caps cheaply?

    • @CinematixActionProd
      @CinematixActionProd Před rokem +1

      For the cap, you could buy a cheap dollar store plastic plate, cut to diameter and silicone glue to the end with your cutouts.

    i much prefer this kind of NFT to the crypto scam type

  • @jasonbricknergaitedhorsema1100

    You want food grade pvc bad chemicals!

  • @christylecain9537
    @christylecain9537 Před rokem

    Ugh this build made me wanna scream ., you go from a super pricey fence post cover (which least be real , NOBODY CEPT THE RICH can purchase large quantities of) to a ROUND pvc and you lose SO MUCH plant area
    Can you PLEASE for the love of everything cheap , try a system with gutter down pipes (get your heat gun out)
    I honestly can't afford a ton of pvc pipes either ....its frustrating 😅

      The rails he using are $25 at Home Depot, cut them in half and now you have two, not really sure where you shopping
