I've built two of your 2 rail systems. Mainly growing lettuce. It's a great system! My challenge that the room is at 80F. That's the high limit for greens. The spinach won't even germinate; I use another room for that which is around 76. Thanks for the vids!

@@SimpleGreensHydroponics This makes a lot of sense as the room they were in would routinely get up into the upper 70s and even lower 80s at times so maybe a fan would be a worthwhile investment. Thank you.
I farm spinach in South Africa and heavy rain wiped out my crop 😞. I lost about 5000 production plants and my income came to a halt for a few weeks....... I am now looking at growing it hydrophonically as that way I have much control of the environment it grows under

Good info on the spinach. What varieties of lettuce do you typically grow?
Muir (leaf lettuce), Monte Carlo (Romaine), Rex (bibb) are all good ones

If you cover the spinach how should they get any light? Or do they not need light during this time
They don’t need light when they are still seeds or smaller micro greens
Every time I grow spinach it becomes comically bitter how do you avoid that
I know heat generally makes leafy greens bitter - my basement is between 65 and 70 degrees F so that helps.

Depends on where you live I guess, our soil is buried under snow for several months each year :)

Score your spinach seeds or pre soak them.
I tried three times to germinate spinach seeds. No such success.What's the secret here?
