    It seems to me that the insertion of the needle into the belly of the brachialis muscle would cause immense pain; why does it not?

      Any reason why you’d think that particularly for this muscle, or do you mean in general Brad? The needles are fine, and generally cause minimal discomfort.

      @@TimTrevail it's probably just me. I'm very sensitive to any stimulation to, or anything related to my brachialis muscle, basically due to past trauma to it. Even thinking about a needle going into it scares me

      @@TimTrevail my brachialis muscle is I believe fairly underdeveloped and easily develops soreness and pain when I rely on it and/or put greater than usual strain on it. I think I over rely on my tricep muscles

    My pain is inside of the heel now. It was the entire arch, but I have it localized now. It feels like a lump and no one here wants to figure it out (navy medicine) they want to give me hard drugs to help the pain, not over the counter. What do I do?

    Hello Dr Tim! Thank you for this video. Would it be beneficial if add this to my rotator cuff rehab? I dont have a tear per say but have an irritation that restrict a bit of my overhead movements. Its like a sharp although mild pinch near my rotator cuff joint. If so what should be the reps and frequency per week? Greetings from India. Hoping to benefit from your wealth of knowledge

      @@TimTrevailSure. I’m just trying to figure out what I’m gonna do for my home gym. I have tons of bands already but they don’t seem to hit my hips that well. Not spending $1200 on a hip abduction machine. Maybe I’ll just buy a low pulley and strap the weight to my ankles

      ​@@danski6694 I do these in PT. I stand with closer to wall. The foot of leg I am raising touches the wall. Keep core tight and shoulders down (pretend tucking shoulder blades in pockets) and lift leg out to side. You will feel it. If balance is off you can hold broom stick in other hand in front but try not to lean into it.

    I received this treatment a few years ago and the results were sore muscles for 2 days afterwards followed by some temporary pain relief. I stopped agreeing to them after 4-5 sessions of it, but I also experienced random muscle twitching for months afterwards. Perhaps a bit too late, I looked into the science behind dry needling to find that I trusted my physiotherapist a bit too much. To sum up the science: Some feel that they experience benefits but under rigorous study, there is no significant improvement between dry needling and no needling at all.

    I think I may have torn that. I have a dip there, that exterior dude of my ankle tends to role outward suddenly once in a while, and I have a soft bulge where it attaches to the knee. Doctors don't want to acknowledge it. They just go around the core problem.

      It's targeting the right hip here. As the upper body rotates over the right hip which is relatively static, it's promoting international rotation at the right hip.

      Seems like a stretch/movement/eccentric combo. According to some research, the muscles can recover in weird ways if you don't move em, but you can't overload them too much early on in the recovery process. This seems to cover your bases.
