As someone born in 2000, I believe kids shouldn't have a smart phone untill age 16 or up. I never owned a phone or video game system untill At 16 I got my first job and bought a phone plan and bought my first game systems, a DS lite and a GameCube.

Ya... There's problems surrounding schools every which way, and part of it is the parents. Political stuff, family stuff, crappy school lunch food, too much screen time, you name it. Maybe we need to get these kids working on the farms again with their parents so they can learn a bit about life and responsibility. Camping, something that requires a brain. Letting kids play more outside with their friends, let your kids have fun sleepovers. A kid shouldn't need a phone until they're 10yo, imo. Leave all the earliest years for playing outside and learning about how to act around other people.

I hate how teachers cry about expenses like people don't have to buy their own tools to do jobs for 50k a year that are more skilled and valuable. Public Schools have needed an overhaul since 2010 they are straight up non functional now. But paying teachers more definitely is not the answer. Children will continue to be less agreeable as they face darker and darker futures. You have to fix the actual issues with the economy and ability for upward movement. Not treat the symptoms.
