I’ve read a few novels written by former slaves, that were taught how read and write by their slave owners or their children …many writers had the same narrative, “that the white wives of slave owners, were more sadistic , cruel and evil than the white male slave owners”.

As a white woman I have no words to express how angry I feel to even think I could have been like those women who had slaves if I was born and grown up at that time in America in the wrong family (the majority). This is just the tip of rhe iceberg of how black people were treated back then, less than animals and it still affects us to this day. Some of those laws ate still in place today to keep black people from achieving certain rights in this country. One is the jury selection system which usually is mostly white.

It was hard to learn how brutal southern white men were in their effort to recreate slavery and the extent to which they went in those efforts. Disgusting. When a white person says that slavery ended over 150 years ago and we need to get over it...they don't understand how deep racism and hate is baked into American society. Much of the hate still exists and limits are still placed on Blacks in America.
Desegregation was the worst thing we could have chosen as a collective
When the power lies with the oppressors, how would it have benefited African Americans to remain separated while all the resources were outside of the community? The whole purpose of desegregation was that there could be no separate but equal. Another reason why some neighborhoods are terrible and run down is that they are financially segregated. If we wanted to boost education nationwide, we would do away with private schools and make everyone, regardless of financial standing, attend the same schools which would force rich families to invest in public schools instead of private schools.

I was watching an old slave starring Ernie shavers I believe. The movie was about the slave owner’s daughter having sex( raping) the slaves and she was caught in the act by her father. She then lied and said,”he the slave forced himself upon her. So there was a big gathering the night before by the slave owner and the next morning they were going to cut the balls off Ernie shavers. Ernie escaped his holding cell in the barn got the rest of the slaves to retaliate against every1 at the gathering and so they killed and burnt down the estate and Ernie shavers hauled ass far away from town after the massacre.

This was a good video! There were actually worse things that happened back in those days such as throwing black babies into alligator infested waters, they forced men to R-word their own mothers (many slang/american slang have racist origins) and during lynchings they would sometimes cut off the men's genitals or put a live cat inside their guts and close the animal in while both were alive. It was unimaginable brutality we can't even begin to comprehend NOR will america ever make amends. Regarding reparations, my thing is this. Stop giving them our money! Stop spending on any and all holidays ... Thanksgiving, Christmas especially, birthdays, all those holidays. Just buy necessities and buy them from international markets. It worked during the Montgomery Bus Boycott, it can work again. Say no to Christmas! Plus, Jesus was born during the harvest season, not in the winter.
Just found out my 4x Great Grandmother was Niecey Anderson of the Prospect Hill plantation in Virginia. She had children with the Overseer of the enslaved (a black and Cherokee/Powhatan native my 4x great grandfather)her son, (my 3x great grandfather) is still buried beside the big house since he died in 1908… I never knew it was this common to have female masters. Her grandson raised my grandmother. It’s not as long ago as we want to believe sometimes 😢 I have seen wedding photos with his makeshift headstone off in the distance in the tree line of people’s wedding photos… it hurts 😢

This information was not hidden. Maybe some just wanted to believe differrent. Maybe turn a blind eye? You don't even have to go back to slavery, just study the 100 years after slavery and read the book 100 Years of Lynchings. I suppose you'll really be disappointed then. Anyone who knows history, already knew this and also recognize the role they play today.
