One thing you forgot to mention was Fontaine’s non-existent mother. In my opinion the film uses that scene to symbolize black mothers that live on Government housing that are so caught up in their own lives they become relatively non-existent in their kids lives.
Every time Fontaine tries to interact with his mother, the response would be I’m busy watching my shows or I’m tired from hanging with girlfriends. Fontaine never questioned the disconnect/neglect because that was normal.

I think something that a lot of people miss is that the old man who says "Its in the water" is seen at the end helping out people by giving them water. A brillaint commentary on how even the good intentions can be harmful when the tools and supplies given to you are tainted.
Man when that older guy at the gas station it’s in the water young blood, literally scared the shit out me because I am a lucid dreamer and I just read recently to ask people in my dream questions so this last Friday night I had a dream where theres this huge snapping turtle and a guy that looks like a fish and wildlife worker and he glanced at me and I asked him what do I need to know and he says it’s in the water, keep your kids away from the water, don’t drink it and don’t go In it and then I woke up because my husband was walking to me outside of my dream to tell me he was headed to his clients house to do his work (he just started his own business so he works some weekends) and I am already a lucid, vivid and so many other terms of a dreamer and no I don’t know that much yet so if you care to throw info into my comment I won’t mind and links too would be great. Well this is where sh$t gets super weird.
My son’s BB game was a bit later that day and he and I were just chatting and got on the topic of nightmares since he only dreams when he has nightmares but I dream every single night almost except from 2016-2019 I didn’t dream at all which is weird to me and I don’t know why so if any of you do let me know and I apologize this comment is everywhere, I often feel I am everywhere trying to figure things out and I had my spiritual awakening last year and since then my dreams went back to the same dream I had every night when was as young as I could remember dreaming and stopped having that dream when I turned 19-20 ish I didn’t have it anymore but this year a few months back actually I started having my childhood dream again and I fly in my dream and I am always helping people that either met throughout life or my family so on but it’s like I’m a flying helper kind of but I cannot hit anyone personally so if I go to say punch someone in the face my fist will stop right before their face like a magnet against a magnet kind of feeling. I get a feeling of urgency in the flying dreams and a sense of calm relief like I am a calm person and have to keep myself calm to help the chaotic mess going on around me. Like I said weird.
Lately the last couple dreams back to back have been different not close to my same dream I had forever and now my dreams are I’m boots on the ground and fighting a war.
I don’t know what to make of things to be honest. Also I get this like energy feeling or I am not sure what to call it…vibe I guess that I am going to be a warrior to fight along side Jesus Christ and be apart of his army to save and protect the good people. Like I said it all sounds wild and I have looked on Reddit but again I’m not good with tech to be completely honest so any links or knowledge that you can exact names for I can research myself because I only take peoples words, videos & opinions at face value until I can match it with a personal preference that I have seen for myself, debunk it somehow or find the research on it.

What’s wild for me is I’m 41 and this movie validated my outlook on the community. I always got hell for not liking rap and having a problem with it and other things from the hood culture.

Something i noticed in the movie is the connection between the church and the club...they went to the church went down into the labe and came out of a club. The church and club both had music playing (worship) they both had alcohol (celebration) the people were in a trans in both places, the pastor and the DJ was keeping them in that trans state. And money is the god that is worshipped in both buildings, they even had the same purple color. Seems like they were trying to say the church and club is one in the same.

Here’s my full analysis:
This move appropriately displayed how black Americans have always had no say over our algorithmic lifestyles as a demographic; since we’ve always lived in a country where systemically, “they” decide our laws, are majority of our teachers, government, congress, judges, principles, etc.. pushing a certain stigma through music, food, media, even personal things like religion is 100% possible, as a therapist who understands how the human brain works and adapt. It’s simple environmental programming..
..which isn’t a bad thing (every generation has done this for society to have a basic moral understanding) but because this tactic on the black community causes negative effects instead of positive, it’s a danger to a community who’s never really lived in an algorithm separate from their own oppressors, who’ve never truly seen us as equals in our generations of society, their glass has always and will always be more full because of those setbacks. we’ve always worked under their rules and systems we didn’t have a say in until recently.
throughout the decades, the movie depicts how black Americans have metaphorically lived as background characters in the American dream meant to be experienced by a certain demographic hence the more literal metaphors for how we are perceived as different archetypes through the eyes of the ‘sleepers’
(Ie: the pimp, the gangster, the gossiper, the ‘good’ one) etc, I also noticed how we never got to emotionally connect with the main characters, we didn’t get their backstories, the names of their families or any hint of a further dive into their personalities. we were basically disconnected from their humanization. I think this is why we didn’t get much information on older Fontaine, to show how we are never humanized nor sympathized with in media, we are always painted under an archetype & either misunderstood or never understood at all.
The same “Fontaine’s’ are really different individuals who live in the same algorithm, the same patterns due to the same histories of oppression & programmed generations adhering to negative stereotypes.
The whole movie, I realized black people were watching a movie portrayed through the eyes of a yt supremacist mindset. The accounting one’s race to a specific belief, action or thoughts, the main characters being archetypes & striped or their humanity/individuality) the community never seeming to change & the overall moving seeming missing of naturalness.. this is our community through their eyes.. from an outer perspective.

The conversation he had with his older self was so profound i just sat back like damn nigga what if? Then you peep the part about the music and yeah that made too much sense. When you listen to drill music you feel that anger and look at the deaths that came with it. I applaud the director for this one, made it a comedy satire so he could slip it in.
I think what a lot of people are missing from this movie is that “they” are not just conducting these types of experiments on black people or the urban areas. They are experimenting on every type of community even suburbs with different clones and archetypes to control certain agendas. “They are everywhere.”

I haven’t seen the movie, but it looks like a mixture of Get Out and Us. Since I’m a fan of Jordan Peele, I will definitely watch it.
I’m a huge Peele fan too next year his 4th directorial film drop on Christmas Day and a movie he producing in September which could be People Under the Stairs remake. But this is really good and it’s the director directorial debut

I think the reason why you can't tell if it's the 70s, 80s, 90s, or today is because these experiments have been going on the whole time. There were a lot of references to Michael Jackson that I didn't get watching the movie. Crazy thing I was looking at pictures of MJ's children, and it hit me. Those are actually his kids they all look like him, but their genetics were altered. I mean, even with a white mother, you wouldn't perceive any of them as Black. If you look at the eugenics movement you can see that it's spanded over 60 years. Do we think that that would stop or do we think it just my underground?

I didn’t get the experiment gone wrong . I’m going to watch again But I agree this is an eye opener for some. I have a family member that refuses to listen and understand the movie. When I first saw it, I was appalled! Literally😤! In fact, I equated it to the worse movie I’d ever seen, Dusk to Dawn🙄! And so when persons whose intellect and insight I deeply respect were giving it these tumultuous accolades and kudos, I must admit I felt very naive, dumb and ‘cloned’ to the truth! Upon seeing it again, I marveled at what others had seen/heard…the writer’s genius! In fact, after playing this video (and reading this thread🤔) I’m realizing that one can see this numerous times and each time find another layer to unpeel!
