To find you Mac's IP address you should be able to try a using utility called Fing which is pretty easy to use. You can write down your iMac's MAC ahead of time to make sure you are identifying the correct device.

I installed on a 2008 iMac, then forgot my password - procedures to boot the Grub menu (as shown in numerous places) did NOT work, so I had to reinstall from scratch with the same bootable memory prepared according to the instructions presented here, only this time - no WiFi. :(

18:40 Unfortunately keeping it on High Sierra wont let you run certain software and web browsers will stop working. Planning to upgrade my brothers 2011 iMac to an SSD (with a SATA y splitter power cable for the fan problem) & OCLP to Ventura. Fingers crossed.

I've tried to install the latest MacOS on my 2015 iMac using open core legacy patcher but it's slow as molasses. Hopefully Ubuntu will be better. Only negative is non HEIC support for images!!! Aggggggg apple!

For the 2011 models, it could run the OCLP Big Sur since it was the lasts models to run it while the 2014 could be running OCLP Monterey for it since the final updates are on macos Big Sur..

Is there a MXM card for a 2011 iMac 27 that runs on Big Sur or later with enabled hardware acceleration? I have such machine running with OC Legacy Patcher with a Quadro K2000 but Big Sur doesn't recognize the card and the machine doesn't have hardware acceleration.

Also - any worries about security -- is the open media vault reliable? I don't want to inadvertently open up a access point to outside world into my home network.

Do linus find drivers to every thing in the Mac?...Webb camera well every thing?,...I have a Imac 27 from 2009 and the last mac os this machine can take is Mac os High sierra not above so like if i use Google chrome that dont have any more uppgrade to that so it is not so safe to use it on the Internet samw whit the OS there is no more uppgrade not even for the Safari...So if i install Ubuntu i can use the mac whit out worry about any uppgrades ?....Sorry for my question and than ks for your video...sorry to for bad speling i am from sweden
