Interesting History ! Thank you for sharing.
FRIENDLY CROSSINGS (❤)2006
Wake up America it’s coming again big time ach
I know that church 🙂
That's part of my family history,I'm a Swagerty family member 😁 Would love to see it in person ☺️ maybe some day.
Visited there two years ago. I met a nice man there who took me into his home and helped me find a ride to Knoxville. Tazewell is a beautiful place, the creeks are awesome! I'd love to go back there one day.
The civil war house off rock springs is another cool place just get permission to enter
This is one of the three in the area the other two are privately owned and in the woods graves with just flat rock shove down
So very interesting. Ive been wanting to go back to see the area my family came from before they came to Texas.
I went in There for a field trip
Keep your 🚗 doors locked and you 🔫 handy!!!!…. Just go… and you’ll see why!!!!!!😬 town looks like an abandoned movie set used on The Walking Dead..where the bloods and cryps hanging out!!!!!!😳
Abednego Inman is my 8x great uncle. His father Ezekiel is my 8x great-grandfather. May I inquire about the Inman grave you showed? It looked like Apah K Inman but hard to tell what it said.
www.findagrave.com/cemetery/13606/memorial-search?firstname=&middlename=&lastname=Inman&cemeteryName=Dandridge+Revolutionary+War+Graveyard&birthyear=&birthyearfilter=&deathyear=&deathyearfilter=&memorialid=&mcid=&linkedToName=&datefilter=&orderby=r&plot=&page=1#sr-39262567
There is a group of people that document graveyards but I don't recall who they are.
@clutteredcompass It was Miss Sarah K Inman. I'll have to see how we're related. Thank you.
When you get the chance. Go check out my home town, it's Dahlonega Georgia. Beautiful place and a beautiful road trip too. It would be so super cool to talk about the gold nugget 💛 (my hometown)
are there any kool shops or restaurants there?
Do you know where the Sanatorium was located? I think it was in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
I do not. But I'd love to know.
That was my family's church 😭
The church in the beginning is Cedar Grove Baptist church. My Great grandfather LM Eliis was the pastor. All my ancestors are buried there except my Uncle Charles who was Judge Eliis and started Citizens back and Trust. The other side of my family were the Smiths who started the drug store and funeral home. A million and and a multitude of stories of a great time. It took over 2 years to go thru over 185 years of history that was kept.
Thank you for sharing this.
I bet they were Democrats since they did try the hardest to keep people from voting especially people of the darker hue.
What’s the name of the trail that goes to this?
I believe it's Brush Creek trail.
@@clutteredcompass thank you!
Where is Chucky TN located
I was born there, but never knew about this information. Amazing.
My mom was born there in 1938 her name is Clara suggs
Relatives of those who have past away spent money for their burials, yet those who operate these cemetery's do nothing about the mold on all of these headstones. It's sad. There are people who do clean them, and their videos are here on you tube.
Nice video
I went to Kingwood, I lived on campus for many years, I don't remember a pool. The church, and other buildings remain from the Kingwood school from back in the day.
I live on Custer drive in front of Bethesda
I'm gonna be down there this weekend 🎉
I liked hearing the history on Johnson City. As I'm moving there very soon. I have family who live in Johnson City.
It was actually a popular aesthetic. The tent shape was said to keep out animals and also to deter would-be grave robbers because they couldn't see the sunken grave. The witches grave legend is just that - legend. But it's a cool legend, tho.
Bro I live in Rocky top but there’s been a fire up there on the mountain tryna dog for it
Older than Route 66;)
omg i just came across your channel. dude i love it.. i love the tazewell video.. i can't beleievethat cemeterry. i;m from middle tn.. so it's alot of history...
Thank you for this video. I am a descendant of the tollettes. My grandfather was Mose Tollette. My great great grandfather (tollette) survived a stabbing from the fued and was nursed to health by one of the Swafford women. They married. So technically im a descendant of both.
My father was a veteran who was involved in the BofA. He said within five years the new guys were more corrupt than the guys that were ousted. I guess it's inevitable that power corrupts.
And everything everywhere is corrupted. And speak those words you are labeled MAGA
What makes it mysterious? Is it the wrong color? Is the rock not supposed to be upside down? Definitely looks like a giant or extraterrestrial flipped that rock and forgot to remove the tool they used to do it.
U-shaped anchor for something - maybe a chain or cable?
From tazewell area cedar fork
The three little houses are used for the yearly production of To Kill A Mockingbird. The first act is outside, and at the intermission, there is an announcement that some of the audience members are chosen to be the jury for the trial. ( all white males) the second act is in the courtroom and is very moving and powerfull. Also the park bench with the three kids are characters from TKAM reading the book.
Hey you was on my road when looking at ebenezer church
Sergeant York then Athens , Tenn. What next?
Great photos
I live about 10 minutes from Ducktown.
Nice overview. Thanks for sharing! Where did you get the first photo from? The one of the family and dogs by a little cabin...is it just indicative of the time period? Or is it actually of the original Peck cabin in Mossy Creek?
The first image is just clip art. If I remember correctly.
What's the African American history in this town?
I have been told that was the old water tank they filled the steam locomotives up with when the train tracks were there. Most steam engines stopped being used in the 1950s so I'm sure that tank dates back to the early 1900s to late 1800s. That structure could also been used for coal, not 100% sure. I have a friend that worked for Southern Railway and I'm pretty sure he said it was a water tank but I'll ask him. He used to run that line into Rankin but he was on a diesel locomotive on the new tracks.
I have several family members buried here. Witches are not buried here.
You should look into the ETWNC railway. Thanks for showing.
Lot of older houses in the area
I've seen some of this and wandered about it
Wish you'd do a video on Mendota, VA
Good video, I like going over to Yonders
