  • These old tent style graves have some rather unusual features. Are there witches buried here?! There are similar graves at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in
    Sparta, TN.

    It was actually a popular aesthetic. The tent shape was said to keep out animals and also to deter would-be grave robbers because they couldn't see the sunken grave. The witches grave legend is just that - legend. But it's a cool legend, tho.

    My family from Sparta TN. Thry have these too. My family part Cherokee. But they had witch style doings.

    This is one of the three in the area the other two are privately owned and in the woods graves with just flat rock shove down

    The civil war house off rock springs is another cool place just get permission to enter

    My grandma could put hex on someone. It worked. My ancestors there are all vikings an Cherokee Indian.

    I have several family members buried here. Witches are not buried here.

      Most of the older graves belong to the Stamps family and the Neal family.

    The stars, maybe Masonic symbols? Just taking a guess, I'm not sure either.
