Could Vyvanse be the key to overcoming binge eating and ADHD, or is it just another quick fix with serious side effects? If you experience binge eating disorder and ADHD you may be eager to find a binge eating disorder medication to help you manage your ADHD symptoms.
Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) for binge eating also targets adult ADHD symptoms. In this video, I’ll discuss how Vyvanse for BED works, the crossover between binge eating and ADHD and common vyvanse side effects.

I have never been a binge/purge person. I don't think I have ever binged in my entire life. Maybe overeaten, but never binge. I have always had digestive problems since I was a little girl. I had problems going back to as far as I can remember being 4-5 years old. I was never and undereater. I always had a healthy diet, exercised, drank a lot of water, and gave my body what it needed. I've had colonoscopies and have been to many GI doctors and dieticians. Some people just have slow motility. That said, I was so sick and tired of feeling sick and tired so I opted to take laxatives as a way to just get on with my life. It really was just for regularity. I'd drink senna tea, take magnesium, and eat a high fiber diet. All I wanted was to be regular. But as the years went on, I had to take more and more. Then I got involved with cleanses. THAT was what messed me up. The colonics and the enemas. Things got so bad and I was desperate. The biggest problem for me was that because of this one issue, it took control over many areas of my life. And that was when I started have food issue. I was desperate to feel better. After seeking therapy, and going way back into the past, I discovered that my digestive system is my emotional center. And that there were things from the past that had created this inability to digest life. There is always a reason for our symptoms. It may not necessarily be that we are not eating enough. It may not have anything to do with what we are eating but rather what's eating us. I agree with this video on all levels; only to say however, that not every person is the same. And once you do literally become addicted the laxatives, it creates anxiety and fear in other areas of your life. YOU MUST GO TO THE SOURCE AND THE SOURCE CAN BE TRICKY TO DISCOVER. But it's worth the investigation. I'm 50 and it's been a long road. But I will never give up.

I’m older now so I know I won’t be a super athlete but I do move in my body and the world so much better now! We’ve gotten into a mindset that exercise is for weight loss but it really isn’t-its important for many other reasons though A lot to think about after this vlog ty!

At 11:46, you make good points. However, when people are eating better (protein and fibers) and exercise more, they will most likely lose body fat. And, after losing this excess weight, their health and blood markers was indeed getting better. Furthermore, recent studies are starting to use body fat %; those randomized controlled trial on humans showed people on both extremities of the spectrum are more likely to suffer from health problems. Being undersized or oversized isn't ideal neither on the long run. Like you said, people need to adopt better life habits : eating whole food, quality sleep of 7 to 9h per night, physical activities and weight lifting, going outside more often, stress management. I was a former obese myself with multiple heart issues, high blood pressure, joints pain, etc. Once I adopted and maintained good habits, I was able to get rid of those problems. But, it's a daily struggle, but worth every second of it.

Hi! I weigh myself daily in the morning and my appts. are usually in the morning, so I allow it. Last month, however, I had an afternoon appt, and I didn't want to be weighed, so I said, "I will self report today. It is ___." It worked, but I noticed the nurse didn't write it down, so I told her I wanted her to write it down as a self-report and she did it. I felt so empowered!

What an amazing video Meredith. Thanks for sharing your journey through recovery. I, too, remember lots of the weight watchers conversations and all of the workout VHS library in my home as a young girl. My family used to say at the dinner table, "how many points is that?" when someone would reach for the salad dressing. It's incredible how it's imprinted at such a young age. And it was difficult to know as I grew into a young adult woman, what was classified as disordered or was just simply "normal" in my world, because we were surrounded. That’s really tough, but know that it’s normal as your body adjusts. The anxiety piece is about noticing your thoughts, reminding yourself that constipation and bloating do not mean you’ve gained weight, and will go away. I take medication for mental health that not only increases my appetite but gives me very strong cravings. When i first started taking medication 20 years ago I gained 70 lb. Then when I went off my medication recently I lost 50 pounds within minutes. it was so noticeable and quick that I thought there was something wrong with me. Nope! Unfortunately, I have had to go back on medication and I am starting to binge again. I at least know what the cause is and I no longer feel that it was a lack of control and or that I am at fault in my weight gain. Many need to hear this. Its not your fault! Eating regularly has always been very effective to cut down the number of binge eating episodes in my life. Life can get so hectic that meals and sleep are the things put on the back burner. Hunger and exhaustion removes all thought and it’s almost feral in my need to eat until stuffed. When I can afford it, manicures work very well! Afterwards, it’s as if it calms me down and of course, can’t eat whilst someone is painting your nails! Gardening can be helpful as it keeps hands busy and is a great diversion. Deep breathing and meditation plus long bubble baths work well too. This a really excellent video with suggestions and ideas that are helpful and insightful. And of course, at times in one’s life, it feels as if food and “bad”foods especially are all that is available! Plus, not to overshare, body-touch hunger, loneliness and needing physical touch and sexual intimacy, may trigger intense cravings for foods as a substitute especially rich creamy sweet things or spicy crunchy salty things. And oddly enough, in times of stress overload, having any sort of control, means being out of control and eating exactly what and how much I want! Binge eating calms and grounds me at times for awhile. Finding more and more ways to get needs met and truly care for myself is what I am working on the most right now.

So many great ideas! You’re so right about eating as a means to ground yourself and cope with a void in intimacy!

Are there any good resources for accessing the research behind the things you say? It'd be nice to have the actual studies handy to show people who are skeptical of information in youtube videos, especially when that information contradicts what they've been told all their lives. A website with a list of links to studies would honestly be so valuable.

I really needed this video right now (im a guy but also struggle with it!) so thank you! MY stuggle, is i have been able to put my health in the right place for months then i yo yo and its frustrating cause i knwo what i need to do, i just feel like everything in society is set up to doom those who struggle, also potentially having ADHD makes it a lot harder as it takes a lot longer for those signals to hit the brain but i do my best! but thank you! <3

I get so overwhelmed by shame or relationship issues or things I have no control over (my brother is on hospice) and run to food to cover my emotions.

I know it can sound cliché, but try to be gentle with yourself. It's actually quite amazing that we have a built-in tool for self-regulation and comfort in food. There's nothing to feel ashamed of. Thinking of you and your brother ❤️

It can feel like you're going against the grain when you decide to stop dieting, but it's the only way to ever get off the merry-go-round.

Such a good strategy. I just went for a walk in the sunshine and got an ice cream cone - all make my body feel good!

@@ParallelWellness Someone could say "Such a good strategy. I just went for a walk in the sunshine and smoked a cigarette --all make my body fell good!" But there can be a difference between what makes your body feel good and what is good for your body. If you decided to keep on going for a walk in the sunshine every day for a year, there is a good chance that your body will be healthier than if you didn't that. If you decided to smoke 20 cigarettes a day for a year, there's a good chance your body will be unhealthier if you do that.

My head exploded. Jk, sounds really useful and good tp know. I was looking for the breathing techniques . My son recently died and when picking up my grandson from school i found him sobbing on a bench. It dawned on me that he was almost hyperventilating with short fast intake breaths. Pretty sure thats opposjte breathing to slow heart rate yet factory default as its really common. One big breath in then on exhale short bursts 4-3-2 then slowly realease all. If i got that right. Can test easily with rate monitor. I love your many methods as seems we are all a little different and shiuld be ablr to find a go to my little.buddy. Now if i can find out how to get myself into rem so my neuronetwork can heal itself ill get through this tragedy. Thank you!

Its like drug addiction right? Instead of telling yourself no, just listen to your body and take the drugs it wants, you need to be happy and aware of your drug cravings before you can kick it! Do the drugs until you realize its bad for you and makes you feel bad and thats when you actually quit! 🤡

By the way, you realize if you stop eating at 7PM and start eating at 7AM its a 12 hour fast right? I dont think thats too hard to do, you dont HAVE to eat more calories and shit before you sleep, in fact its probably better you dont... Edit : as I eat my apples strawberries eggs toast and some pickle for breakfast lmao, just eat a normal amount of whole foods trust me it's amazing

Do some people get fat by not eating much and working out all the time? If not, how do you say all bodies react totally differently? We are all human...
