    SOLVED my U029E with "Exhaust Fluid Service" and "Reduced Speed". For the past month I have been working on this issue on my 2017 Silverado 2500HD LT 6.6L. Tonight I purchased my 3rd NOX2 (downstream) sensor and IMMEDIATELY EVERYTHING WAS FIXED. So, what happened? Why did the previous 2 NOX sensors NOT work? So why did these sensors not work when the one see image below immediately worked? CHEVY! First has a functioning syncro when down shifting from 2nd gear but not when "upshifting" from N. There is a modification that can be done inside the 1-2 syncro ring to make it function like the 3-4 syncro ring. This fault is part of the Alfa design. A fast idle makes the problem worse, pausing for a few seconds after pushing in the clutch works well for 1st and R or selecting 2, 3 or 4 before shifting to 1 or R.

      @PhillipBailey Před dnem

      @nottabidenfan1228 when exactly does it make noise? If it will do it sitting still then you might want to take it to a shop with a drive on hoist or a pit. Exhaust leak, heat shield rattle, drive belt tensioner or idler, ac belt or tensioner. You could try removing the belts one at a time.

      @PhillipBailey it happens only when I let off the accelerator, I hear a "click" and then feather the gas peddle slowly, and it's a steady "clicking" until I push the accelerator more or just coast. I understand it's hard to diagnose from a comment, but I appreciate your experience and suggestions.

    My air injection pump only stays on for 4 seconds then turns off at first start. It does have a lot of air pressure but may not be on long enough. Is 4 seconds too short of a time or is that about right for the time the pump needs to be on? TIA. Good video.

      @@PhillipBailey Yes. P0491 and P0492. I had a shop do the carbon cleaning. When I got the car back (Porsche Cayenne s hybrid with 3.0T engine) the code was gone under pending codes but is still there in the permanent codes. It eventually retriggered the engine light and came up on the confirmed, pending, and permanent codes. The hose from the pump to the combi valves seemed in good shape when I replaced the pcv valve about 6 months ago. I figured I would check the pump, so I had someone start my car when it was cold, and it was on for a 4 second count. I checked this by disconnecting the hose in the front. It felt as it had some power but was on for only 4 seconds. Vacuum lines look in really good shape with no wear. Car is mainly garage kept and it seemed that way by previous owner as well. I really appreciate your time on this.

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey Před 2 dny

      @BryanKerr-x1n if the carbon cleaning was done to correct the codes then you may have some recourse to have them diagnose it again. If there are no leaks and exhaust passages are cleaned then it could be a weak pump I guess.

Hence I went about it all arse about face, last thing I checked was the globes, when it should have been the first thing Ahhhh. Then I recalled, I used to drive a Renault work van, the globes would both blow in it at the same time, it was as if when one blew the other must have got a power surge and burn out also. Morel to the story, "Check The Globes First", they can both be blown at the same time.

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey Před 5 dny

      @justinbegay3613 so the driver rear sensor is showing a speed signal sitting still? And you switched left to right and it's still the same? What scanner are you using? I'd try a different scan tool and if it's still the same try plugging in a used ABS module. You will likely have a vin mismatch code but see if the speed signals are normal. I'm not sure if a used ABS module can be used and reflashed to the truck though.

    Couldn't you just run switched power to the factory relay to control it instead of adding another relay?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey Před 7 dny

      @jajajajajajajajaja867 the relay is switched by a ground from the master switch. There are a few ways to do this including wiring in an auxiliary switch to supply the ground but the operator would have to remember to turn it off or it would drain the battery over a few days. This way it's automatic. Or you could just buy a new switch.

      @cesarfernandez6641 what fuse and how much current is the battery draining. Unless an internal relay is failed stuck on changing the fuse panel won't fix it.
