I need to do this for my old cross-cut combination miter saw. Using it to cut steel has melted the original.

Bondo to rebuild wood is the best.

I would not take Bondo if you want some struktural integrity. Use some 2 part epoxy wood repair stuff, would even do a better job then wood in this case. The Bondo will crack and cone off easy.

Id just pay to have one milled out of aluminum. There’s companies like PCB Way that will do it for you. All you have to do is send them a schematic and pay them and you get your part.

J-B Weld steel-reinforced epoxy or a similar will last longer than the wood.

Feels strange to use such a finely crafted item as a fastener.

Interesting tool, but expensive. Please tell me what I am seeing at 4:12, with regard to the outfeed table. To my old eyes, the outfeed table appears to be a basic traditional workbench, somehow elevated. But I cannot make out exactly what is happening.

I have the Bosch 1617 EVS router, no table or lift, yet. Lots of things going on. Awhile back, I came across an old article about a diy router table and lift. I think it was published in AW in ‘04; AW was later acquired by, or merged with, PW, and I think - not certain about this - that the article has been republished once or twice. There were a couple of things I like about that design: 1) like your design, it kept dust from getting into the router motor, and 2) the router lift was attached to the back of the cabinet, instead of being suspended from the router table insert - you may or may not be aware that over time, router table tops and/or inserts sometimes sag. Having the lift attached to the rear panel avoids that issue. Just thought you might be interested in taking a look. I would definitely be interested in a generic plan, and possibly a kit. As I mentioned, we have a lot going on. I really do want to get a router table built though. I have watched this video at least four times in the last week, and only just realized that it was posted two years ago. Any updates or current status? Stay well.

Not sure about Bondo, I'd splurge a couple bucks more and use a hard epoxi resin, I'll admit, it's messier, but it would last longer I believe

Why does he mske a scoring cut on the miter before making the final cut the 2nd time around? Why not cut in 1 fell swoop?
