That’s an awesome video man. I wish I knew you were making that and I’d have got you footage of it going on the extrusion. Can’t tell you how excited I am to have it on there. FYI, I did four bolts and those extrusion T-nut/slot connector things underneath only and it is rock solid.

Thanks! I thought that I would be able to get this video done and posted before you got the vise on the bench, you are too fast for me!

I gotta hand it to you Andy, you are an idea factory. The chamfer is obviously the aesthetic way to go. Love the blackface

Sweet! I love the black background on the vise! Along with the silver & brass color inside, it looks amazing! Maybe i'll have to go for some nickel & gold plating.

I think the chamfers on the front top corners really adds a lot to the look. The black backplate is a nice touch as well.

Great.....now there is something else in Cam's shop to drool over besides the awesome slabs he gets to play with!

I’m liking the black background on your amazing vice and that is a great idea with the drill press fence it takes all the hassle out of adjustment which as we all know is a pain in the butt

Beautiful vice design indeed Andy, the black background makes the cogs pop and is a nice match with the brass bushing. I love the chamfered corners too!
Bandsaw fence accessories are brilliant, tell Mike he should add them as extras 😉

Styrofoam is your CNC’s best friend for program testing (albeit a bit messy). And as a bonus, you can run the program at high speed thru the foam so it doesn’t take long to verify it.

Great video Andy! Love the roller stacks in the fence. Absolutely love the solution for the retro fit on a thinner table! Well done.

Awesome. One of these days, when I have a proper workbench, I'm ordering your vise. Just looking at it will put a smile on my face. Also, the mag featherboard is a game changer. It's so easy to you use that you end up using it ALL THE TIME.

I think those magnets would work well, used to mount bench vices into the back of a work truck. Along with other tools that guys would normally try and clamp down. Without success most of the time. Anyhow, that's my thought..

I just bought the Taylor Tools Magswitch bandsaw fence about a week ago. I really like it and would be interested in the fence extension bolts/bearings from Taytools if offered as an accessory.

I wonder if there’s a way to have the round not quite bushing around the bench dog rotate with the dog so it will always just drop right down nicely

Class design. An idea maybe to laminate on pieces with the required shape vs hogging all that material. Seems like a lot of time and effort that could be avoided

hmm, now I need to decide if I should paint my vise, or go with a clear coat of osmo (which I accidentally discovered does a wonderful job coating metal … easier/shinier than paste wax or shellac)

@@AndrewKleinWW Oh that's a shame, I think there would be a lot of interest in your stuff in the UK, although with the £ in the toilet it probably isn't the best moment to invest in selling your stuff over here.... :(
The twin turbo vise is definitely on my list though for when I can afford to build a "lifetime" workbench.
Keep up the great work, as a fellow designer I find your work really interesting as you find really innovative and cost effective solutions.

4:15 hi Andrew, love the video.
Have you considered using steel blackener instead of paint? As steel blackener doesnt seem to actually add thickness, it might also have a great effect in making some of the gears black as well.

That router close-up - czcams.com/video/DhjvBUut5ek/video.html- was really interesting - we always watch it from the top and we 'know' what it does, yet this way it shows - maybe do so for different bits....

Today I learned Americans spell Vice incorrectly

    • @AndrewKleinWW
      @AndrewKleinWW  Před rokem

British English uses vice in all cases. American English uses vice for bad habits and being second in command, but the correct spelling for the gripping tool is vise
