When you were gluing up the halves, the way you had the halves sitting on your bench reminded me of a Quonset ht at an airport with the checkerboard pattern and the shape of it.

In cases like this (or the globe, the trophy etc.) I'd like to watch your preparation: development of design, progress of sketches, calculation how many parts in which size are necessary and so on.
