The Peerless High Rye is like nothing else I’ve ever tasted. It’s my favorite bottle in my cabinet just cause of how unique it is. It’s not a traditional flavor at all, and there’s no sweetness to it. It was with the price in my opinion.

Rye was the original way they made old fashioned back in the day, so the legend goes. I like Ryes at times over other whiskies and bourbons It has that spice and kick that I love. My favorite which is actually a blend of Rye, scotch and bourbon is Campfire by high west. However theres many good distilleries that provide a similar flavor profile to that of ryes. . My personal favorite is Garrisons' small batch. It makes amazing uniquely flavored old fashioneds ❤

That giant from gulf coast distillers you found is awful. They do age a MGP 95-5 rye that is very good. Best 95-5 MGP rye I’ve tasted. Better than the angels envy.

I can get it moderately easily for retail in VA as we are state controlled. At that price it’s hard to beat. I like my bourbon a bit sweet and flavorful with little to no heat on the back end. That’s Blanton’s to a t. I’ve always said it would benefit, much like weller 12, from a bit more proof and after recently scoring a bottle of gold I will say that extra ten proof is very helpful.

I have that Hirsch bottle, and supposedly it has Willet 9-year juice in it.

That Rouse’s Market WRDO store pick is outrageously good. Picked some up while working in Lake Charles.
