Weird anti-climax at the end. I was expecting everyone to proudly reveal their bottles and receipts, seemed like they weren’t interested in participating lol
Felt a touch awkward for sure lol
You need to rename your channel to: "I Don't Know How I'm Going to Get Them Home." lol Time to get a sponsorship from FedEx.
That’s why we pay you the big bucks Josh
Lol!! Right!? There is NEVER enough space
The "This ones gonna send me over the budget" like he doesn't have an unlimited budget
@@iHiTMaN69Very few people on the planet have an unlimited budget. That’s a good way to end up broke.
You do realize you're referring to a youtuber who has the ability to write all his purchases off, makes money off the video where he does this and then on top has sponsors paying him to do this. There is no going broke in this situation. There is no budget. @@Countrybluez
Pyramid is a whiskey museum. They have a good selection because the prices are outrageous.
I live right next to it, and it’s the most disappointing store to go to. Readily available wines and bourbons go for 100%+ MSRP. The first time I went, they were asking $38 for a bottle of regular Makers.
Springbank is a fantastic Scotch. You would hate it.
you actually had me dying at that, too tear commit. 😂😂❤
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Good way to put it
$140 is no where near a deal on cask strength redwood empire! Holy fuck! I’ve got all mine in the $70 price range
Same
Yeah most of the time he calls something a deal, it is in fact, not a deal
I was on the edge of my seat the 5 minutes he was considering that. That would’ve been hard to watch
Got mine for 85 so yeah I paid a little mark up. 140 is just insane
That's what its like to have money and not give a fuck... its nice 😎🥃
I agree, hundred percent with your choice of John J Bowman single barrel, I would’ve picked that one as well. Very fun video to watch. Keep up the good work.
I picked up my Jack Daniels Single Barrel Proof Rye at 79.99 at 139.0 Proof
i bought a couple at a ~133 proof point for $64.99 but i’d pay a little extra for the higher proof
They usually go in my town for about 65-70 bucks, the rye ones are allocated in my state though from pretty much every store that I've talked to.
135 proof for $65 in Ohio
That Michters Toasted Barrel Rye is fannnntastic. At the right price, of course.
My dad's always been a connisouer of spirits in general. At 35yo I have never been a big drinker. But he let me try some Bakers 7 and I enjoyed it enough to go buy a couple of things for myself. I'm hooked. Love the channel, and the content is extremely helpful for a newbie.
Frank August is a must have. It's a bottle one should always have. It's a great balance of sweet and spicy and a good finish.
It's
That was really fun to watch! Do more of these!
@ 15:19 pointed at Plantation Vintage rums. They come in different series with under the sea and flying with birds examples based on year release. Vintage collection is true small batch, aged for a long time, great packaging, great for guest series. Plantation renamed in 2024 to Planteray for negative connotation. Collectable and Tradeable. MSRP was $75-85 varying bottles.
the plantation 5 year is some good stuff
Fun show, really enjoy the content! I’m in California and the Redwood Empire cask strengths here are 99.00 bucks. My store owner friend sold me all three for 52.00 bucks each:)
That cask strength redwood retails for $75.
I bough the bourbon, rye and blend back in November. It’s amazing
I dont always watch all your hunting vlogs, but i love this as a review channel, and i think your personality, production quality, and consistency are of if not the best on this platform. Nobody is doing what you do at the quality you do it. You keep people who dont even drink enthralled with your review content, and especially your short form, just off your delivery. Keep on killing it brother. This channel deserves a million.
$139 for the Redwood CS is double msrp. Picked one up for $69.99 the other day and have two of the three. You got the Bowman at msrp. Come visit the distillery in VA some time.
Excellent video as always! I’m blown away by the amount of Springbank and Kilkerran on the shelves there. I’m lucky to score a bottle of Springbank a year up here in Nova Scotia, Canada.
There are union fans in nova scotia?! With good whisky taste?? Impressive haha
I negotiate at small stores I frequent and I have a great relationship with the owners. Negotiating on the price does not make you a bad customer, it’s part of the game. If a store doesn’t want negotiations they are always free to sell at MSRP
The Teeling next to the OFC is currently my favorite.
Cool idea for a video. Need those guys to bring some more excitement on their picks haha
Love the traverse city barrel proof bourbon! I've been told the rye is fantastic too, but I'm not much of a rye guy.
I haven't tried any of the FRANK AUGUST but you have to look at the tag around the neck it will say small batch or what type of finish it has , some are mizunara or px brandy that I've seen so far
That Chinola is seriously good, must have if your serious about cocktails, bought a bottle before I saw your add, that’s so cool to see them sponsor!
Thanks so much for supporting us! you're definitely right Chinola is an at home bar necessity.
That Frey Ranch display was beautiful.
As soon as you said 139 for a Redwood Empire cask strength was a decent price, I was yelling at the screen DONT DO IT. They're amazing I agree but they're 63 at Woodmans in Wisconsin right now.
I bought one @ $80😢
Same, $70 here in California
Same i paid 80 in florida
70 in Ohio
That's a great price. Pipe Dream and Lost Monarch CS are $65 at Total Wine in CA
Doing this bourbon hunt with your viewers was awesome to watch and so much more enjoyable than the usual solo hunt whiskey-tubers do. Well done!
They were some sad sack viewers that turned up though... no one was interested at the end, it was like trying to get blood out of a stone for them to participate. Half of them looked a bit touched......
Rare Breed Rye and WT 101 Rye are so good. I wish I could grab those from the screen.
About those movie poster looking bourbons, the extended cut (barrel proof) is actually really good - I had some at a bottle share recently and it surprised me for an unknown brand being helmed by someone who did a lot of work in Hollywood.
I like how there is two OFCs, one at two different locations, in this video.
That selection at Raley's is ridiculous!
Yeah the rye jack is everywhere in ohio...around 70 bucks...great stuff. Even though it is allocated
Frank August single barrel is a must have! The small batch is a good one too. Happy hunting 🥃
The Raley’s featured in this video is at the 2389 Wingfield Hills, Spanish Springs location, not Sparks. As for 4:00 PM today, the OFC was still there-in case you were wondering.
You can get lucky anywhere, but in my opinion, the only other Raley’s worth visiting in the area would be Incline Village.
I don’t drink or even like bourbon/whiskey but I genuinely love your channel! ❤
Living in Maryland I feel so blessed to be able to find that bowman single barrel for 60 bucks regularly. Amazing stuff
That jp wisers 18 is a green label. That’s gotta be better than 10 years old. And that forty creek harmony next to it is a 3 grain. Those were some dusty gems for Canadian. The purple crown royal boxes are the noble collection. Yearly special release. The one with the sticker on the front is a 13 year bourbon mash but they had to change the name to 13 year blenders mash. Also keep an eye out Hiram walker releases jp wisers 24 year as an American only release, I have a 100 bottle collection. After drinking scotch in my early 20’s I’ve switched to bourbon for drinking and collecting crown royal and Hiram walker products. Cheers on the hunt.
Redwood Empire Cask is $75 on their website when available.
Great video brewzle! You da man!!
Pipe dream cask strengths are everywhere in Phoenix. The 3 closest total wines to me have them almost always for like 75 bucks.
Grab a Jimmy Red. It'll satisfy that heirloom corn note everybody's trying for. Really good.
Yeah the Redwood cask strengths are in the $70s. Seems like that one store is double everything at least
A quick comment on the too many bottles problem...is there a way you could do samplers? 2-3oz pours from several bottles of one distiller or something like that. I know for me most of the bottles you buy are at or exceed my spending limit but if I could buy a sampler of an entire line it would make it easier for me to decide on what bottle Im really after.
"there's a reason they're all still there"......yep. A LOT of good whiskey under $75 that is pure bliss.
This was an awesome idea for a video, well done man.
Now I'm a scotch guy and a Rare Breed fan but them ryes so many amazing looking bottles with green and white. I pray Rare Breed Rye come to Sweden one day would love to try it. We had Pikesville Rye here a year ago it's amazing but over 100 dollars and I don't know if it will be back.
139 for the cask strengths redwoods is insane. Those are $70 all day
Yeah I was thinking that, picking some up for 70 this week
Leave the Lagavulin & buy the Bowmore 26. Both from Islay, but the Bowmore 26 is a very rare expression - not too heavily peated but lots of sea salt & iodine
you should taste other single grain whskeys from scotland and Ireland they do not contain any malted barley. and are colum distilled so you don't taste that malty taste. you will find several different bottles. thanks for the great videos, the best Bourbon channel on youtube. greetings from Finland.
Brewzle, try getting 1×1 inch icecube trays for your cocktails. Really stepped up the flavor of my cocktails. Gives me the perfect dilution
Awesome concept with the comp!! Cheers
Pity the sad muppets "involved" ruined it with no enthusiasm at the end.
Should of bought the Frank August. Craft distillery and all their releases are excellent.
Living in a liquor control state is great cause everything is MSRP. However, allocated things are hard to get here, but great price when you find it
come up to tacoma (near seattle) in the fall, it's beautiful not too cold and plenty of bourbon finds
Hope the glass shelves with all the bottles at the Pyramid Liquor store are rated for that much weight. Seems very risky to have all that sitting on glass displays that are probably meant for jewelry. Great video as usual!
The red wood cask strength you can get (at least I can in So Cal) for under 80 for any of them. The rocket tops a lil more but still under 100. The mark up is not bad but its Nevada, our neighbor. Really cool store I'd still walk in
Brewzel we need ya to come out to Western NY, great food, great people, and a lot of small liquor stores.
After watching videos of you negotiating a price, I decided to try it. I was able to negotiate a respectable price for JD 12 year, batch 2.
awesome!
Great content. My favorite stores in Reno is the Raley's on the south side of town and Pyramid up north. a good amount of barrel selects there. Not impressed with OFC other than fantastic packaging. I've had a better 15 year old wheated bourbon that was fantastic that still makes me drool to this day. That was Commander's Select 4 from Horse Soldier. I see pyramid had a series 3 right next to the OFC at the 20:04 mark.
I miss when you could buy 6 bottles and get an overall discount.
Still sipping on a +130 proof Old Forrester single barrel pick they had.
They = South Side Raleys
Reno is a great spot, next time I’m there I have to do a similar run / hunt
Last bottle of EH Taylor small batch I bought I paid $129, not proud of it but that’s what I paid. Where I live it’s stupid hard to find.
John J Bowman use to be my go to for $55, just a couple years ago. I haven't seen one since. Swing one my way in IN. 😂
I used to get JJB for 39.99 in Virginia consistently. We NEVER could find OFSBBS. Crazy how different state selections are
Gotta check out Oak & Ivy in Freemont while in Vegas!
Video is another reminder International markets are weird. Buffalo Trace products are everywhere in the UK. Springbank meanwhile is super hard to find at MSRP. And it's just sitting on the shelf here, albeit marked up.
Brewzle, did you get a chance to stop at Minden Mill Distillers? Just 40 miles from Reno I can say they will be the next up and comer in the market.
7 Troughs is terrific, their speakeasy was my spot for a while. Love their Gin.
Hey there! I don’t know what the best way to contact you is but I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and I have found them really helpful for an insight into the Bourbon world in America! I run a bar in Bristol, UK. At the moment we stock Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey 101, Eagle Rare 10 Year, Balcones Texas Malt, Sazerac Rye, Rittenhouse Rye & Jack Daniel’s. I want to expand this and make it more interesting, with this list in mind, what would your no.1 choice be to add to it that would be unique and interesting, I’ll stock it and give it a go! Again, love the videos! Keep doing your thing! Hope this gets to you, Taylor
@Brewzle I was just looking on Raley’s website and they have the O.F.C. Priced at $2,499 which is MSRP. Just thought I would run this by you in case you’re interested. Happy Hunting
The Frank August Small Batch is really, REALLY good, in our opinion. We just opened our 2nd bottle.
seems like you had a fun time so far
“It’s in their best interest to ask the most price they think they can get, it’s in our best interest to try to get it for a better price.” Plain and simple truth, very wise words, Brewzle
Not just that Springbank but that Kilkerran for 99$ is a steal man. I want some of that Cambeltown love where I live. I think I’ve seen a Kilkerran once and it was 160$
Redwood empire cast strength in Nashville TN is $72.99 and you are correct it's delicious 🤤
Should have tried that Amrut fusion.. might have blown your mind for a single malt
This video was awesome, but really hard for me to watch.... Cuz I saw the Reno meetup alert listed on Patreon, I only live a couple hours away and the event date landed on my birthday so I really wanted to be there! Unfortunately my 5 week old son told me I wasn't allowed to go. LOL - Hopefully I'll get to go the next time you're somewhere in Northern CA.
Just goes over the Arette Ancestral line like no biggie and the Padre Azul tequila bottles 😅
More of these!
I picked Eagle Rare today in Missoula, MT for $45.
Born and raised in Reno. would love to hit up the Raleys. You should do a hunt and meet up in Hawaii. Come to Oahu and check out what we get...
Traverse City Rye is amazing 🥃❤️🔥
15:50 Cool Store, kinda excited to check-out a good bourbon
The JD SB BP Rye is allocated but I just picked one up for $60-$70. That 350 is absurd!
It is not allocated....
@@djl3485 Might be some places. Just like how Buffalo Trace and all their products are allocated in some states and available by the case in others.
Yes it is allocated in certain states...fyi..in Ohio...Thats the reason why I love Ohio... msrp baby... they can't jack the prices up like most states...
@@davidscialabba6884 Yep, same thing here in North Carolina. As long as I'm able to find it at all, anything I find is at msrp.
Its not allocated
Would love to have you come up to the Portland area
There's a market near me that has a ofc 93 but idk if that means the year it was made or maybe some kind of score its given lol but it too is $4k
Blantons gold msrp 120
The straight from the barrel at $150 is way better, I wasn't a big fan of the gold...
That’s crazy, Blanton’s is still $70-$80 in my area
Cheers Brewzle!
Those redwood empire cask strengths are $70 in NY.
Love the idea
I like how the people you were shopping with kept coming up to you to ask your recommendation
I would love to participate in a bourbon hunt contest like this one. I missed your last visit to mandeville, Louisiana. Maybe next time. Maybe a New Orleans hunt. You would be surprised at what you see in some of those old stores.
Great video!
You should come bourbon hunt in San Diego. I don’t know much so i couldn’t show you around but I’m sure there’s someone who could and I’d love to see you visit the local stores here and I’m sure I’d learn something
I know you not a big Scotch fan but give the Deanston Virgin Oak a chance. It’s aged in new oak to give you the bourbon flavors you like.
Let us know next time you’re in Vegas, I’d definitely do a meetup!
Brewzle, the Redwood Empire CS should only be about $80-$90/bottle. At least that’s what it is here in Sonoma county where it’s made.
TJ, when are you coming to Dallas, Texas?
Damn, I need to take a trip to reno!
Would love a meetup around GA or Bama!
Southern Star Distillery (Statesville NC) wheated Paragon cask strength.
