Dont stay in times square, dont eat in times square, dont shop in times square. Spend 4-5 hours there and go somewhere else.
4 to 5 hours??? There's not that much in the M&M's Store haha
4-5 hours? More like 1 hour max
Then spend 4-5 hours doing what?
Brooklyn for bottle hunting has been good for me and the food is always 🔥
Pick up a 107 Wellers for $49 I could not believe it. Have not seen a bottle here in Texas for over a year now
Why would you spend any time there??????
No better way to start a friday morning than a brewzle video
It's half 4 in the afternoon here in the UK, and in Newcastle where I am, it;s hosing it down has been since last night, it's cold, miserble and getting dark, the only plus point is that in 30 mins I'll be clocking off and looking forward to a chill weekend and the superbowl on sunday night.
I highly recommend hanging in the East Village next time you're in NYC - better food, prices, and liquor stores. You can probably do even better in the boroughs but it's an easy train ride from Grand Central
The commitment for content is appreciated brewzle and Mrs brewzle
I love that you call out their silly prices, in front of them, and online. I saw an Old Fitz for 1.5k the other day, give me a break.
For real, the sad part is that these secondary prices exist because people actually pay them. Owner of my local liquor store said whenever he gets Blanton's, a $50 bottle, he sells it for about $200 and it never lasts more than a day on the shelf. Is Blanton's good? Probably, I don't know, cause I'm never going to pay $200 for a bottle of it, but I imagine it tastes like $50 whiskey if that's what Buffalo Trace says it's worth🤷♀
Guys looking a little cold out there 😂. Brings back Memories though I lived in NYC, from the late 80s, into early 90s. Love the Channel keep it up 🥃
Great video. Looking forward to seeing where you hunt in San Jose, as I'm in the area. I haven't had much luck here, so wishing you will find those hidden gems.
John's Pizza is a great stop for pizza in Time Square. Finger Lakes Distilling/McKenzie is a great choice. Their barrel pick is great, my local club has done 3 picks with them and all have been great.
Super useful video for us Europeans who are far more likely to end up in NY than say Alabama or Georgia. Thanks!
If you’re ever in nyc
East village(lower East Manhattan) is best for the bar scene, there’s literally hundreds of them there varying in price and theme
Astoria and jackson heights in queens for food from everywhere in the world without breaking the bank
See Times Square if you must but don’t waste too much time there, the magic of ny doesn’t exist there
I’d also recommend walking along the entirety of the Hudson River or a large portion of it in Manhattan. Extremely beautiful views with much to do along the river. There’s a riverside mini golf course and sand volleyball pit around tribeca, free kayaking at 55th street, a lighthouse by the George Washington bridge, and more.
If weed is your thing it’s legal in nyc and practically every smoke shop(aren’t hard to find anywhere in the city) sells good quality flower and prerolls
Glad your visiting us in NYC, cheapest place for blantons in the city is Costco at 120. If you want good prices. Go to leaky barrel in Brooklyn
We go to NYC a couple times a year (quick flight from chicago). The last time we were there, I checked out that Times Square Wine & Liqours. I was blown away by the prices, and that's comparing them to Chicago. I know you love Bourbon County Stout, in the West Village is Carmine St. Beers, bookmark it to check it out sometime.
Absolutely love your videos. Good to see someone from AL getting after it. Shout out from Odenville AL!
Great video as always!
Nice tour and Bourbon Hunting episode, I’ve enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing! My favorite pizza place in Manhattan is Lazzara's Pizza Cafe!
Hunting in my hood. Hope you had a great time. Lots of stores to work your way through. You got to hit Queens and Brooklyn to get winners.
For NYC bourbon I like Van Brunt whiskey distilled in Brooklyn, their campfire is👌for NY State whiskey I like Taconic or Hill Rock. Taconic has some nice special stuff at their distillery I recommend taking a ride there
Thank you… that was so much fun !
Thank you for the experience.
Love all of your videos. Some really nice Museums!
Next time you are in NYC go hunting at - Astor Wines, 111 Lex Liquors and Wine, WinesToGo Wine & Spirits, Morton Williams Wine & Spirits, Wine Wisdom.
Astor Wines is such a good spot.
Warehouse on Broadway near Astor is a good spot too. Astor is the best.
Loved the video!
Great Video as usual……..looking for those rare Springbank would defo break your Budget…..good Scotch, different but not everybody’s taste. Expect with a little mark up to pay 250 for anything cask strength but super mark up double that is probably the norm……18,21,25,30 will all be marked up as super limited batch bottles every year. My best bet is a local barley, yellow label, probably around 200 if you find one……ore if you’re lucky enough a Hazleburn from the same distillery as that doesn’t have any peat at all, plus it’s triple distilled. Still enjoying you from Scotland and keep up the good work…. You’re an inspiration!!
People forget that these places are going to sell for what they can get for them. There are a lot of businessmen that fly in and want to impress their clients so spending x5 or x10 MSRP is 100% worth it for them.
It’s business baby
NY local here. Great Jones is really good, but if you are in the city go and get it from them direct. They have a distillery. $200 is what distributors are telling NY shops to sell Blantons at (So I’m told)
Get yourself some Beacon whiskey. It’s local and really good. The beaverkill bourbon crème is amazing. Kings County is nice but not fantastic.
Midwinters night dram is $150 at the distillery
Always enjoy your videos happy hunting! 🥃🤘🏼
Patsy's on 1st Ave and 117th Street. Great spot for a pie!
I would 100% recommend checking out Great Jones.
They are New York locals. They contracted with a distillery in upstate New York before opening their distillery and tasting room in Manhattan. Their Four Grain is a distillery exclusive and one of my favorite purchases from my trip to NY. Love the content, can’t wait to see your next hunt!
Glad you found John's Pizza......that is the spot
thee best and the owner is fantastic
Is that John's Pizza on Bleckers? EL Prez swears its the best pizza he has ever ate.
love it thankyou from western Australia
Great video. Really looking forward to the SJ bourbon hunt.
I'm in SC and I have two bottles of Kings County Bottled in Bond on my shelf. I really really love it. I also have a bottle of Kings Code, but that's a different story.
Love you guys
Super incredible channel
I. Finally, I got my hands on blantons! So happy. Now it's time to see all the hype about the bottle.
For pizza, Rubirosa is amazing! Reservations recommended though if you want to eat at a normal time. Tried once before a show and the wait was 3 hours
Great video, like the city vibe
I've been to Finger Lakes Distillery several times. They have a BiB of that McKenzie bourbon. Their Rye is good. It's an Empire Rye 80% NY local rye and 20% malted barley. I love it in an Old Fashion. Almost tastes like a smoked OF, w/o actually smoking it. Plus the rye spice.
TJ, Jill, the McKenzie bourbon you should have tried is their bottle and bonded. Come to upstate NY! There is many distilleries from Syracuse to Rochester to Buffalo you should try. Iron Smoke and Black Button in Rochester ate my favorites! McKenzie in the finger lakes is a great distillery also
My wife and I were up there in June. Had pizza at Slice of New York on 8th, it’s good pizza, can’t speak for if it’s the best. Right by our hotel Riu Plaza Times Square. We will definitely stay there any other trips we make.
Really enjoying your content and learning a lot about bourbon.
I got my eyes on a single Rickhouse at MSRP . Gem of a store . Again you should hunt in my neck of the woods .
Helluva video! Thanks for coming to our city. Would’ve killed to meet you guys. Have a good one.
Was in New York this year and I saw bottles I’ve never seen before and there was a reason why, their prices were higher than their sky scrapers!!! It was unbelievable!!
Another great video. Next time y’all are in the NE come up and visit VT, it’s a Beautiful state and all liquor is sold at msrp
Give Red Breast Cast Strength a try. I don’t like Irish Whiskeys much either but that one is amazing and very bourbon-like. Lots of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, spice
Union Trail is a release from Bourbon Enthusiast. He runs a private barrel club. I believe its MPG juice, and very nice.
I'd recommend a barrel pick from Mckenzie if you can find one, got an 8 year barrel proof that's really good, and has a bit different mash bill from their standard too
Missed out on that Beaverkill Bourbon Cream!! Super local upstate New York, surprised they carry it there as just a year or two ago I could only get it upstate.
Yeah snow hasn't been great in NYC the last few years haha. Awesome to see y'all in my city! Definitely check out areas outside of midtown next time you're here. Good distilleries in Brooklyn, too.
Kings county bar is a great place to visit when on a NY vacation. I plan to do tour next time I go.
It was briefly mentioned in the video but you have to pick up a bottle of Hillrock Estate Solera Aged Bourbon. They retail at $95-$99 but get marked up unless you go to a Total Wines. One of the best NY Bourbons I’ve had
Jill looks sooooo happy....
I can vouch for Hillrock. I've had a bottle of their stuff and thought it was amazing.
San jose, try Don's Liquor about 10 min from airport...you have to ask for the good stuff...he doesn't have it out. I was there in Oct.. prices were a little high but he was willing to negotiate 🤙...
johns time square is incredible pizza great stop and the fried mozzarella is incredible!
Loving your content. Thanks for keeping them coming. UK market is very limited. Any recommendations? Can get Eagle Rare at just under 50 dollars, or Knob Creek 9 for 40 dollars
Blecker st pizza and princes are my two favs, they’re both very different so could not choose between.
While you're in California be on the lookout for Frank Agust small batch. One of the best tasting bourbons I've had at MSRP
I saw you pass on the Dickel Leopold bros rye is a really tasty pour. It’s a buy @130.00 or less. I pick up a bottle every time I pass through Columbus GA
They have super liquor depot in the Bronx , 10465. Throggs neck near the Whitestone bridge. Prices are a third of what Manhattan is.
Liquor Up Wine Down on 1st Ave was always a great place buy Burbons when I lived there, and for pizza can beats Joe's Pizza (7 Carmine St)
SAN JOSE?! Woohoo! My home town!
Hopefully I'll run into you when you're here!
You’ve made it to New England!! Let me know if you decide to make your way into CT. There’s 4-5 go to places here
That Bootlegger bourbon is distilled and aged by their own company. It’s called Do Good Distillery in Roscoe ny. In my opinion there is better bourbon but the owner is the absolute nicest guy and really takes pride in their company. They make other spirits also (their gin is great) They’re also the same distillery that makes the beaver kill bourbon cream that Jill picked up. The story behind the cream is great too. The owner needed gift ideas for friends during Covid since a lot of stores were closed and couldn’t get anything. So he made the bourbon cream just as a gift for someone. They loved it and said he should bottle it at his distillery. So he took their advice and ran with it. Absolutely love what do good distillery is about and will give them my money any day. Even if it’s not for their bourbon. They make other spirits that are pretty dang good
There are alot of places around the area to find the same bottles at affordable prices, wish we had connected before you came! I know some great spots
If you’re visiting San Jose, CA; I have a few suggestions of stores that you might want to visit. The stores are: San Tomas Liquors, Royal Liquors, Vintage Wine Merchants, local TWs, and if you don’t mind driving few miles off town, you gotta check out K&L Wines in Redwood City. It’s very similar to Vino in this video. Good luck with the hunt as always. I would not mind doing a bourbon hunt with you. Edit: Nvm, you probably came and went on your way…
The Dickel X Leopold is a rough pour, you did well to avoid it.
Took my Mom to NYC for her 50th Birthday. Did the Statue of Liberty and all the tourist stuff.
TJ great pick up on that McKenzie , there are one of my favorite local distillers who are doining it right , they have some higher proof stuff that is really good , if your ever in the finger lakes reagion hit them up 100% worth the visit
Great video
The next time you come to the East Coast, you should do a Maryland Bourbon hunt video. There’s also a great distillery doing unique whiskey called Meinelschmidt Distillery in Hagerstown MD that I think you’d love.
I'm hoping you made it to Beacon Wine and Spirits! Super knowledgeable and super friendly!
In the South Bay Area . San Jose , check out K and L liquor in Redwood City
Awesome video
Good man, I’m not a Irish whiskey fan as well
Hear me out, I know you do not like Irish Whiskey but you could try Keeper's Heart Irish+American Whiskey. They even have an Irish Bourbon cask strength but I've been unable to find one. just something to keep an eye out for if you are feeling adventurous.
The kings county barrel strength is 🔥🔥🔥
You have to come to Washington State!! Come on over to Stevenson WA to the Skunk Brothers Spirits! You're gonna love it!! I'd be happy to take time off to show you around to some local distilleries and places to find bourbon. If you needed a guide. If not, I still think you would love it up here.
The finger lakes stuff is great!!!
I don’t even like standard Jack Daniels whiskey…but I like watching your videos!
I already knew how this video was going to go down. You can find almost any bottle in NYC, rare stuff and all. The thing that stops you is price.
Everyone loves McKenzie Rye. A lot of local groups have picks. King's County is delicious.
TJ, try the Glenfiddich 14; it's aged in old bourbon barrels
Can’t wait to see your Reno video. Just moved out here recently
Hope you like it!
I commented on your other recent video with the Mackenzie but kings just recently moved to small barrels. Some of the big barrel cask strength will knock your socks off
Go to Joes for the standard slice, Prince Street / Rubirosa / L'Industrie for the best slices
2nd Rubirosa. Great slice
I checked out a store in the north river area of Chicago last spring and the prices were pretty similar to what you found in nyc.
Black Button cask strength is the best! Dont pass on it!
Man a quick trip to Brooklyn would've been a fun whiskey adventure to grab some KCD and Fort Hamilton.
Not sure if someone said this already, but I couldn’t tell in the video, but if the Kosher was the green label “Rye Recipe” that is the bourbon that contains rye in the mashbill. The kosher rye is a red label I believe.
I found that Northern NY is pretty good to find more selections. I was just in Syracuse a month ago
What about more towards the border of Vermont? Vermont is great for prices but the state control limits allocated stuff. Northeast Ny! Have you been there?
@anthonypicciano3803 I have been to Vermont but haven't been burbon hunting then. I'm only 1 year into. I try to find places out side of PA.
Shoulda gone to John's of Bleeker Street, the Mt. Olympus of Pizza.. everyone knows the rules.
Good Video. That is a tourist destination, of course prices are going to be stupid. Well hopefully you guys had fun. 😅
Come down to Philly soon Brewzle! I’ll show you around
You should have looked and bought a bottle if Hill Rock (not Rock Hill that you love)... that is made in NY. I found it 5 years ago in NYC and try to get a bottle every time I (or a friend) go.
Jill's an enabler 😂
NYC/DOA..keep up the great videos
You should come check out IRON SMOKE DISTILLERY in Fairport NY, Rochester area...
Come to Philly for some great craft bourbon whiskey!!! And then hunt in the Jersey stores
The Taconic Double Barrel maple is excellent
Very productive video, don’t expect great deals in NYC.
