Dropping large counterweights before engaging the throwing arm enables ranges above 1100 feet. Velocities up to 221 mph measured on golf ball. No plans available, sorry all. Update 04Feb2012: Distances of 1194 feet and velocities of 228 mph reached today. Update 08April2012 Distances of 1266 feet reached today with 120lb CW. Calm winds and no bounce into a soft dirt field.

@Leonard Vance @EVERYONE , My question is, if you want to increase distance of the projectile and efficiency , why not remove the pulley ? Would the drag force be less gliding along the wooden dowels rather than a pulley? Please help me understand

So this did not increase acceleration? I thought of a design that also immitades a sling bcs i thought slings help so much to throw further for humans... i don't know if you still read comments.

I wish they could do this without the music.
You often went way too fast for me but I don't mind, it's a video, I can just rewind and watch it again untill I get it. So much better than when the information density in a video is too low. You can't speed up or skip parts or you'll miss things, so it becomes so boring and hard to concentrate on. Thank for making this video Sir.
